I’m no expert but don’t you think you loose nitrogen when spreading g this earlier. It rains the grass isn’t growing and n is gone. I like to easily see tire tracks when I’m spreading
If it was me I would have soil tests pulled and you could know for sure if it's lacking anything I do know continuous baling really pulls a lot from it
Could it be the moisture. Don't know what it's been like last 2or 3 years have been dry not sure on the others. If my memory serves me right it probably doesn't wasn't 5 yrs ago really hot we had good moisture and unbelievable humidity.
How about 8-10 soil samples to county extension office for analysis.

Tight Wad with fertiliser you have to put It on every once in a while I know it. Hurts the ol back side 😢😢😢😢
