Someone should do a study on which groups tend to correctly or incorrectly identify images/footage as artificial. Low exposure to what the outdoors/real locations look like has to be a factor.
Once you see you can’t unsee. This place isn’t what we have been told and we aren’t alone. However with all the gaslighting people, bots and outright demons in the comments very few ppl take it seriously. Once you observe people long enough and know just a little about body language and human behavior….well, again you can’t unsee it. As an example back in the 80s serial killers often taunted cops either letters. They’re all sociopaths with narcissistic tendencies so they can’t help themselves. With all this tech what do you suppose they do today? Perhaps film their exploits calling them fake them monetizing them? That would be a pretty hefty payday literally and to their egos. Wake up young ones. Before you’re on the other side of the screen. Trust no one. Go nowhere alone.
There's definitely Unreal 5 at work. You can sometimes see the shadows suddenly pop into position. That said, I'm pretty sure they use real world locations as reference, and maybe a bit of live footage interspersed to give legitimacy.
Over the weekend, came across a youtube video discussing how some scenes in Briscoe Park are supposedly real, while others were filmed later by Briscoe. It’s called 'Briscoe park: who’s guiding us through the darkness' or something like that
Oh boi.... So, I grew up on a legit farm. 11 acers, a cow, goats, chickens, barn cats, gardens, the whole nine yards. And the home I grew up in was a split level. When I turned 13, I was moved out of a small upper floor bedroom and allowed to take a larger room on the lower floor that had previously been my father's home office. And that room.... had a window on ground level. Once I figured out how to pop the screen out, I could go for a midnight walk whenever I liked And I liked to *quite* a bit. So did my friends. Part of sleepin over at Lore's house was popping the screen at 1 AM and walking around the backlands until the sun started creepin up. With such a setting *so* familiar to me, I imagine something spooky based on that vibe is gonna get under my skin right quick. ONWARDS!
Thank you for not writing all that just to trauma dump, and actually writing something worth reading. Everybody and they momma wanna write a terrible story to be online forever.
the "impossibly green flowers" at 26:38 are rapeseed flowers and they do in fact look like that, well more yellow than green but still, weird to allude to some kind of egyptian afterlife instead of the very real very common crop (this might be a "the curtains where blue" moment)
Thank you! I've been in fields of canola before, and I was absolutely sure that's what that was - I'm glad I'm not just going mad. To be fair, Canola fields do look kind of weird. The shade of yellow the flowers are just before they bloom fully is an odd colour to explain.
16:38 while the turtledove imagery would be cool, judging by the way the bird settles on the wood i'm like 95% sure it's a martin, swallow, or swift. _probably_ a barn swallow, i think you can make out the dark back, long wings, and orange throat. Creator specifically stated that the videos are NOT cgi or blender environments or anything (which i believe, clearly real footage with some added stuff like the eyes and the spooky reflections) so that would make sense to me. Barn swallows can often be found in abandoned buildings such as, well, barns. They like tall vertical spaces to cling to.
Oh my goodness lol, hang on, at 15:57 that's not a creature, I think that's a dude in a trucker cap. You can even see his glasses and stubble lol I think that was a mistake accidentally left in. He must have been the one who rattled the gate and was supposed to hide but for some reason he didn't crouch low enough. Whoops! If you just look at the white of the hat it looks like something spooky, sure, but right before the camera moves you can kinda see the guy below it 😬😬😬
26:47 That's not green, that's yellow. It's a field of Rapeseed. They're used for oil. I know them, because where I live, they're EVERYWHERE. The small flowers, the branching pattern, the tiny leaves and seed pods... It looks just like Rapeseed.
26:52 is a field of rapeseed, where canola oil comes from. The offensive-sounding name comes from the latin word for "turnip" because it is related to turnips (as well as mustard, broccoli, cabbage and half the vegetable aisle).
Slight correction, rapeseed and Canola are separate but related (in the sense that Canola is a brand name for a GM strain of rapeseed that was created in Canada - CANada Oil, Low Acidity).
After Nick went over the first video I watched the first 6 on the playlist ... and managed to miss every single one of the supernatural events. Really recontextualized the piece, like documentary B-roll from an Urban explorer.
I love that one of the spooky sites appears to just be a haunted corn maze. As a Midwesterner who spent a LOT of time wandering corn mazes as a kid it just tickles me.
The thing that's masterful to me is the way that he isolates the building we're analysing in the first few. They're obviously on the surface, but the darkness and silence make it feel almost like it's on the bottom of the ocean. Like you could pan the camera up and see some unfathomably huge thing swimming past, paying you no heed.
The way our Agent reacts, it seems like the glowing eyes are considered to be little more than curious animals that just wanna know what they’re doing, and the pale, skinny figure is possibly territorial (almost immediate departure whenever it’s seen) and very meticulous in keeping the places it lives in good condition
Briscoe Park is one of many found-footage media I absolutely love. I only found this out today, and it really stands out from a lot of found-footage media. It has very well-done camera work and is strong in its show-and-not-tell aspect. And one of the big things I praise this for is its atmosphere. Absolute chefs kiss. This has really tickled that itch of atmospheric horror and the fear of the unknown. 100% going to keep an eye on this project to see where the story goes from here.
24:16 That is the Hermits castle in Scotland! The tiniest castle. It can fit one person (maybe two or three if you wanna be chest to chest) and is just a stone room.
Nick, back in form with a great tale, been watching it for a while and its nice to see your take ... this is the version of NM that drew me in and made me a fan. Please keep it up!
This visuals in this series are off the charts. A lot of "tall thing looming in then darkness" shots like at 12:30 that look fantastic. According to a comment further down a photographer is behind this project and you can def tell. My only super minor critique is that it kinda drags on. I'm not saying there needs to be a jump scare every episode or anything, but it def could quicker escalation. Almost feels like things ramp down since the first or second episode has the best scare in the series, which is the grey figure sitting in the chair that's visible in the motion blur.
The shot at about 8:16 reminds me of those scenes in the Chainsaw Massacre movies where you get a low shot from behind of one of the future victims walking up towards the house where the cannibals live.
Briscoe Park is phenomenal. I was sucked in by the beautiful photography and otherworldly locations. There's a liminal aspect to it that creates uneasy vibe. I didn't even catch the subtext. I didn't see the eyes in the windows, the figures in the dark. I wasn't looking for symbolism or paying attention to the subtitles and it was still disturbing. The dark isolation touches on some primal fears. It's very well set up.
i'm going to be honest here, your videos are super calming for me - like if i'm overstimulated or overwhelmed or stressed out to an extreme, if i tune into a video i just calm down instantly, it's like magic. - is this what people mean when they say "comfort youtuber"?

Stumbled onto the channel by accident and didn't realize it was unfiction, based off the comments it seemed to just be a creator messing around in a 3D engine and making some crazy detailed environments. Glad I went ahead and subscribed at the time, looking forward to watching the story develop from here!
it's honestly so incredible that after 30 minutes of abandoned houses, the pristine and currently being lived in house is SO extra terrifying. like damn this mf managed to make be scared of a normal house
You know, I've been subscribed to you for a LONG time now. Years. And recently I haven't gotten recommended your videos AT ALL. I just saw this one and was like, "Oh damn, where has he been?" and checked your videos and saw you actually have been uploading, and this is the first time in years that I didn't watch your Halloween videos as they came out. It's easy to lose track of all the people you're subscribed to when you've been on RUclips as long as I have but it really makes me upset that your videos haven't been shown in my feed AT ALL until now. And with the number of views on your Halloween videos it really makes me wonder if your subs are getting recommended your videos.
Honestly, I don't believe they have been, and you're not the first person this year to comment about this kind of experience. I don't know if there's just so much RUclips now that uploads are getting drowned out more, or if RUclips's changes are affecting me like this, but clearly there's an issue. I'm glad to see you found you way back, welcome!
at 20:40, I'm fairly certain that the sound heard isn't knocking, but rather the floorboards of the staircase creaking as the agent descends. I've been inside a few homes that have old, wooden stairwells like the one seen in the video, and they sound nearly exactly the same!
A new story to listen to while playing games, when I saw that rain going sideways it actually reminded me of the planet that is so hot and has so much wind that it rains glass... sideways, just like the video.
Around 35:30 that blue and red noise is very likely camera sensor noise! A sudden increase or flicker of noise like that could be the adjustment of ISO, Sensor Temperature, or Expose time. So Either the temperature of the sensor itself spike, or it was a really dark room, the ISO was adjusted, and then leaving the room causing the sensor to automatically readjust to the ambient lighting!
15:36 St. Ascension ukrainian orthodox church in Maryville Saskatchewan I love this old building. Although based on most recent photos, it's looking like it won't last much longer. The byzantine architecture really makes it stick out in it's location too.

meh. When legitimate artists do NFTs I usually turn a blind eye, they gotta get that bread somehow. I reserve my ire to the vast multitude of tech bro grifters tho. It's one thing when people who are actually creative try something out, or like when old internet meme celebs cashed in their internet fame for a payout. Can't blame people like Overly Attached Girlfriend for taking an opportunity, and I don't blame artists when they try to find additional ways to monetize their work. And to be clear, NFTs do suck. Just putting nuance out there.
You're the first one to bring up what looks like a blooper. At the fence at the russian orthodox church, that appears to be a guy in a ballcap. Likely an assistant that was following the cameraman, slammed the fence, and tried to get out of shot but ...whoops
@@Ferdinand208How do they? I know a lot of people are speculating that these are animated but I’m fairly certain it’s all real camera footage; the man who’s uploading the videos supposedly started out as a photographer.
@@fetchtheboltcutters1 What Virtual Camera Is? “Virtual camera” or “VCam” is when you parent and track a CG camera to a real-world camera rig that a human is operating. A common example is to track a handheld camera for some kinetic and cinematic action footage. At the end of the day, it allows live-action filmmakers to control a CG-camera like they would in the real world. The tool in the right hands gives CG footage a much more traditional cinematic feeling.

I probably could've handled watching this one through myself, but it's so hard for me to gauge that without watching at least a little bit of it through the filter of you first. I guess I should've gone with my assumption that "atmospheric/ambient" meant there weren't jumpscares lmao. There are just some things I can't safely watch without at least some warning, you know? That's why I appreciate what you do, you make more horror more accessible to people like me.
Thanks for this, Nick! When I found Briscoe Park some weeks ago, I said to myself, "Man I hope Night Mind does this one, because I need to know what I'm missing."
To be honest, most of the religious connections drawn seem like huge reaches - but I don't blame you, there's not much to sink your teeth into in the project for analysis. Like, yes, the camerawork is moody and gorgeous, the atmosphere is on point, and there's even a few subtle scares to add to the tension, but saying that over and over is not a script, is it.
First day it’s been bright and sunny here and ofc I stop by to see what’s good and it’s an entire series shot in darkness smh ; good work as always Mr Nocturne and incredible work, Briscoe Park creators

YAAAAAAAAAY FOR MOONE GETTING A BIGGER PART IN THE CHANNEL WORK! You two seem to work together really well and I love seeing that with creatives. I caught this series through another creator earlier and I was so hoping you'd cover it. Are we of a consensus of if it's all live or is some blender?
I experienced the same thing ! I was really surprised to see this upload after I found Briscoe Park cause I didn’t see it at all when it came out
I was waiting to see if you would cover this one. Super excited to see what you think of it!
at 20:40, I'm fairly certain that the sound heard isn't knocking, but rather the floorboards of the staircase creaking as the agent descends. I've been inside a few homes that have old, wooden stairwells like the one seen in the video, and they sound nearly exactly the same!
I wasn't sure if you'd cover it, but I'm glad you did! It's so good🖤
The suggestion was good, Crystal. 8w8 Thanks!
@@NightMind🖤
A friend in the wild! :D
@@octoberspiritOctober! Good to see you over here! 🖤

I love this old building. Although based on most recent photos, it's looking like it won't last much longer.
The byzantine architecture really makes it stick out in it's location too.
I thought I recognized it! Sask has some fantastic spooky scenery
The rare time I find one of these projects before you Nick lol. Glad you covered this!
Been subscribed for years,
After having a really rough thanksgiving,
It's nice to hear a fammialr voice saying "welcome back to night mind friends"
I'm glad people like this exist, it's nice to have videos made from passion to come back to
I stumbled across Briscoe Park a couple of weeks ago, and after binging all of the videos, I was hoping you would cover it. There were things mentioned in the comments that I just couldn't see in the videos, but I knew you'd be able to point them out and maybe give a bit more insight into what's going on in the series. I was not disappointed. Thanks for the analysis!
thanks for this suggestion, i went and watched em all when you said to and omg so glad i did. this is right up my alley.
I found out about this a month ago when a different channel did an intro to this & have been captivated ever since. I was hoping you would cover this b/c your reviews are so in depth & there was so much I didn't really understand. Love this series, love your channel! Thank you for this!
The fifteenth tape just went up yesterday!
This is so funny I literally just today got recommended their channel and thought “oh nice this looks interesting I should check it out!” Now I really gotta
Thank u for this cozy video on this cold evening
Just recently got recommended this channel and now night mind covers then
Well, this is the first time I've heard the Tower be called a "positive" card except in regards to positively destructive, good or ill.
There's so many cool places in this series, it makes it so visually interesting! Really enjoyed it.
This is _so very_ cool. Kudos to the creators.
i used to love briscoe park until i found out they did NFTs
How unfortunate...
That's such a retarded reason to dislike something that you otherwise enjoy.

I think being principally opposed to people making crypto shit that is gonna cause our environment to burn is a good thing actually
Gosh that lovely hypnotic voice of yours makes it so easy to get into the subjects being explored 🤤
You're the first one to bring up what looks like a blooper. At the fence at the russian orthodox church, that appears to be a guy in a ballcap. Likely an assistant that was following the cameraman, slammed the fence, and tried to get out of shot but ...whoops
Your mind is going to be blown when you find out how they make these videos.
@@Ferdinand208How do they? I know a lot of people are speculating that these are animated but I’m fairly certain it’s all real camera footage; the man who’s uploading the videos supposedly started out as a photographer.

What Virtual Camera Is?
“Virtual camera” or “VCam” is when you parent and track a CG camera to a real-world camera rig that a human is operating. A common example is to track a handheld camera for some kinetic and cinematic action footage. At the end of the day, it allows live-action filmmakers to control a CG-camera like they would in the real world. The tool in the right hands gives CG footage a much more traditional cinematic feeling.
@@Ferdinand208 Ahh okay. That’s very interesting, thank you for informing me!
@@Ferdinand208 so it's half photography half cgi?
31:58 those cabinets look almost identical to the entertainment center in my grandparents living room. I actually had to pause for a second bc the design and wood type/color are identical and the layout of them is similar
The buildings are coops, I think. Probably chicken, although I didn't seen any lifted flooring to actually nest, so I could be wrong.
Using my manta sleep mask and listening to this rn much love!
Thought this would be creepy, but the aesthetic of abandoned buildings/machinery is so cool and calming.
My goodness. This is probably one of the best projects so far this year...
I’ve been watching this channel for the past 5 years and I’m still liking the videos
what a coicidence i personaly found this series like 2 days before this was uploaded
'Towers are always positive, even if the event is not' I see we're not passing basic tarot reading anytime soon.
Thanks for this, Nick! When I found Briscoe Park some weeks ago, I said to myself, "Man I hope Night Mind does this one, because I need to know what I'm missing."
this video? BANGER
Oh my goodness! I have been having a brain itch with this channel's name on it for like a week! Thank you!!!
Oh yay!! I’ve been waiting for a NM on this series!!
First day it’s been bright and sunny here and ofc I stop by to see what’s good and it’s an entire series shot in darkness smh ; good work as always Mr Nocturne and incredible work, Briscoe Park creators
Thank you for having a voice that’s calming me down
Babe wake up new Night Mind just dropped!!!!
Hello everyone. So happy to have some spooky stuff again
1:51 I literally just bought my wife a Manta mask for Christmas and didnt realize there was one with built in headphones 🙃
First time I've watched a channel before you covered it! Love Briscoe Park i cant wait to see more.
Helloooooo... my cup of tea. Finally. Its hard to get horror like this outside of ASMR, and you gotta find the good ones too. This is REAL nice. Kudos to whoever did the folley work
always a treat to listen to while trying to sleep
I've been following this since it popped up on my feed about 2 months ago. Does some great work with editing. Been seriously waiting for the other shoe to drop, and the REAL crazy shit to start happening, lol.
I love this channel its a nice voice guiding you through horror
I felt goosebumps when nightmind emphasized the need to feel it
Immediate clicks, I fuck with Briscoe so hard, also welcome back.
My friend observed that nobody ever says "this holiday season" unless it's an ad.
Perfect content for my sick day!
Haha, same here!
A 90s TV you said it like it were old … like… omg it has been 30 yrs! …. Damn I’m old . Lov ur content. Lol
Unfiction creators: watch my spooky horror boy

Hey Nick, finally got to watch Angel Hare on my own and it is was great. I actually got a friend on mine to watch with. Now she's obsessed as well as her sister. They also went to your channel and are hooked to your content.
omg the little nick plushie is adorable with the lil mask
YAAAAAAAAAY FOR MOONE GETTING A BIGGER PART IN THE CHANNEL WORK! You two seem to work together really well and I love seeing that with creatives. I caught this series through another creator earlier and I was so hoping you'd cover it. Are we of a consensus of if it's all live or is some blender? There are moments that feel somewhat cgi but cgi has gotten so incredible lately that I really can't tell.
Always a wonderful time when you upload!
Honestly the best ad for how I watch these videos 😂
21:03 the deer head above the fireplace reminds me of the Eilsewood setting used for one of their lyric videos
I kept having intrusive thoughts of the Evil Dead 2 trophy.
I discovered this one in my feed a month or two back. Not surprised you found it.
13:10 “What may seem abandoned, may be holding its breath.” 😰
this immediately reminds me of what happened to adam's dad in mandala catelouge the safehouse in the middle of nowhere
his voice is so soothing i instantly got sleepy when i played the video 😴
so wild that this was posted today right after I stumbled upon and caught up with this new series.
