Having studied the bible for many years I confess Revelation was usually lacking in them. In fact, most of the old testament was also. When I was saved, in the mid seventies, there was an urgency in many churches that Jesus was coming soon and we had better get the word out. Becoming disabled abut 11 years ago, I was exposed to different ideas about the end times which forced me to search it out for myself. After studying Revelation and the early prophets, I admit to being more unsure now than ever. I often cringe when people comment to the effect "There is only one way to see this, and those who teach differently are false teachers". I guess when you study past the teachings you grew up with you often find different conclusions. The bright side for me is I still believe the Gospel the same as the day I first heard it, and anyone who changes it needs to be able to answer a lot to prevent being a false teacher. As far as eschatology or other issues, I read the comments to see who has the most compelling argument, usually presented evenly and respectfully. Its non often we find a rational, convincing argument from an angry discourse. In the 1980's, when Beaverton Foursquare's pastor, Ron Meh, was asked his position on the topic, he said "My position is that God has a plan and will carry it out just as He wills". As for now, thank you for the debate in the comments as they can help us all, even if only to point out we don't hold the only position.

Take another look at Revelation. The old covenant was between two parties and the angels ordained it. The curses for breaking that covennat were : sword/war; famine, plagues, woes, wrath, beasts, death. Angels carried out those curses in the first century upon those BONDSERVANTS, verse one whom the letter is addressed to during the tribulation. 1:9. The time was NEAR. The goal/telos of all previous ages was being brought to fruition. Paul told Timothy in his first letter that many would fall away (apostacize) in the last days. The last days were of the old covenant. Then in the 2nd letter 1:15, Paul states that "ALL in ASIA have abandoned me.' All those John had addressed in Revelation has already apostacized by the year 66 when the rebellion of the Jews against Rome began. The New Covenant is not subjected to angels. Heb 2:5> There are many things that religious leaders do not want you to know. If you did they would lose their power,dominion and authority over you. Jesus forbid elevating anyone above another in the new covenant. Matt 23:8-10.All the old things were 'passing away' in the first century. Heb 8:13. They passed and the curses of the law was poured out on the old covenant people with their temple and holy city burnt during the war, 66-70 AD. Ask God to open your eyes of understanding. The Holy Spirit, who is our Teacher, 2 Cor 3:17, will lead you into the truth and the truth will set you free. What all these false prophets, teachers are telling you are lies. The bible explains the bible. Babylon the Great had the blood of her prophets on her hands. 'No prophet can die outside Jerusalem.' The bible is about covenant eschatology: old vs new. The old covenant city, Jerusalem, was 'Babylon the Great.' We have a new and better city, New Jerusalem, not of this world. The city is identified as 'the city where our Lord was crucified.' Take another look at Revelation. The old covenant was between two parties and the angels ordained it. The curses for breaking that covennat were : sword/war; famine, plagues, woes, wrath, beasts, death. Angels carried out those curses in the first century upon those BONDSERVANTS, verse one whom the letter is addressed to during the tribulation. 1:9. The time was NEAR. The goal/telos of all previous ages was being brought to fruition. Paul told Timothy in his first letter that many would fall away (apostacize) in the last days. The last days were of the old covenant. Then in the 2nd letter 1:15, Paul states that "ALL in ASIA have abandoned me.' All those John had addressed in Revelation has already apostacized by the year 66 when the rebellion of the Jews against Rome began. The New Covenant is not subjected to angels. Heb 2:5>
There are many things that religious leaders do not want you to know. If you did they would lose their power,dominion and authority over you.
