I'm kinda surprise that we never actually had sets based on the Amazing Spider-Man movies. I mean both the Sam Raimi's and MCU's Spider-Man films got LEGO sets, but not the Amazing Spider-Man movies themselves?! What kind of a world do we all even live in?
The cause of that is because Lego lost the rights to make Spider-Man construction toys after their Spider-Man 2 line and that then went to Mega bloks in 2007 for Spider-Man 3 up until TASM 1. After that, Mega Bloks lost out on that license (they flopped) and Sony seemed to have become hesitant and never wanted to take risks to make a full on construction line of their own Spider-Man movies again which explains why. It then technically reverted back to LEGO for a very very brief period for TASM 2 with that electro polybag. Tom’s was able to get sets since his franchise was in collaboration with Disney, whom LEGO has affairs with. With how LEGOs proven to show how successful they can be, I’m hoping that this will convince both Sony and LEGO to collaborate again for proper ITSV & Raimi sets
