Agree with you Jess.Love listening to James E. because he is not afraid to tell it like it is/was and you know he is not a bullshitter because he has been around for so long and comes off as totally honest. He has completely devoted his life to his profession and isn't afraid to tell the bad with the good.
my goddddd.......NOW I REMEMBER WHY I LOVE WRESTLING.....DAMN JIM CORNETTE IS A BAD ASS......He IS wrestling. .that promo was awesome, and it wasn't even finished... my god i hate stephanie
dude from 3:45 and on, cornette was actually speaking facts and as a guy who wasn't really ever a fan of him, i have been watching alot more of him and not only is he entertaining, he's entertaining w the truth, and some people just hate the truth.
+Anbualex we wouldn't know. They're never allowed to. Cornette is an all-time great, but he got that way by practicing. Talent nowadays just read from a script :(
That would,ve been better than having the last nitro with Shane walking out on the show .Do you have the rest of this story it cuts off at thestart of talking about Flair where can I get this dvd.
It's been talked about in quite a few interviews that Shane McMahon was on the creative team at the time and he was a fan of ECW. Apparently Shane was always "hip" and "ahead" of the curve. They basically did with ECW what they did with Russo, filter out all of the stupid stuff/stuff that wouldn't work with their programming, and adapted what WOULD (and did) work. All artist rip some ideas from other people at some point, it's making it your own that matters. WWF was able to do that really well.
WCW went down i flames for really the same reason TNA hasnt grown a fucking inch in 12+ years, they were both incredibly mismanaged. They had incredible talent rosters but never pushed them instead focusing on older WWF talent from the 80's and 90's and never building new stars, the only star they built was Goldberg and he was a huge draw (as big as Austin). Tna is the same they have a incredible talent roster but instead focus on pushing WWF midcard rejects like Christian, Anderson, and Hardy (who all suck) instead of using these names to push their younger guys.
At the time of this shoot Cornett and Russo worked together in TNA. Russo eventually pulled strings to get Cornette and many other workers that didn’t fit Russo’s vision fired.
If it’s not too much, can you pleas upload the entire episode. It can’t be found anywhere online. It would make the Internet wrestling community happy!
I loved Cornette's impression of Vince McMahon. It was spot on! And everything he said is true about how Vince condescends Southern people and hates them: ironic considering he was born in North Carolina and went to college at Appalachian State. In his heart and now in his residence Vince is now a Connecticut Yankee who looks down on the people he came from and his roots like he's better because he's rich and can afford to live in a state with such a high tax bracket.
My understanding is that Vince bought WCW at a last minute fire sale. If that is in fact the case, he would not have ample time to negotiate contract buy-out deals for Hogan, Nash, Hall, Goldberg, etc.
@DeepSouthWrestling1. Ok. I think Hackenschmitt was the first big name to go in for it though. I think that was mainly how it happened in Britian. But there is a big carnival and wrestling tradition here as well. So maybe the same thing happened.
When the final WCW champions are listed towards the beginning, they got the Hardcore Champion wrong. The final WCW Hardcore Champion was The Barbarian, not Meng. Meng had presented The Barbarian with the title during the last appearance Meng made on WCW television, towards the end of January 2001. Kinda surprised nobody has pointed that mistake out.
Jim Cornette is an intelligent man. Thank goodness people like him and myself are around to give great commentary on the state of wrestling. If you like Jim Cornette shoots then you'll probably love my RUclips videos (the ones where I talk about wrestling). Ever since Spinnernet1 left RUclips, I have taken it upon myself to give some of the best wrestling analysis around.
the whole "Guest Booker" segment can be found on Justin TV. It begins with his rant about hardcore wrestling but goes all the way through how Corny would re-book the Invasion
MMA fights can be fixed as easily as boxing matches can (and often are) fixed. Where there's money, there's greed, and if profit can be made, a competition can be "fixed". Noone can say with 100% certainty NO MMA fight has not been fixed.
Ric Flair comes from the audience with WCW guys and lets Vince know that they aren’t going down without a fight. Flair implies that the WCW guys will shoot on the WWF guys if need be. Steve Austin interrupts with some WWF guys and tells Vince that the WWF guys aren’t happy that Vince is trying to bury the WCW guys and setting up his own guys to be beat down. The Undertaker then comes out and promises to deal with anyone who tries to mess with him - on either side pretty much saying he has no friends.
@philaman1972 But the top end guys had AOL Time Warner deals for giant money. Vince Didn't want to upset the pay structure. The same thing happened when WCW guys started coming to WWF like Marc Mero. He was getting paid as much as Undertaker.
Yeah, we see how long that "Vinnie Ru and I are ok now" lasted, LOL.
"He's so old when he was in school he didn't have History," LOL!
Lol it was just modern events at that time!’
Well that relationship with Russo sure lasted a while. lol
Cornette is absolutely spot on regarding McMahon. You just know his own ego and pride stopped the Invasion angle from great.
Right
hearing cornette say he speaks to russo was the biggest surprise in the pro-wrestling world since moola ended up being the spider lady...
Thank you! Always wanted to see the full interview. Thanks again!
If anyone was wondering in the beginning Jim's talking about Jim Herd, the pizza delivery man who ran WCW.
i want a part 2 of this too. this is just too awesome.
love this man. "wrestling is viewed as just entertainment, and sometimes not even that"
If anything, I'll say Jim's impression of Bischoff is spot on. Scary how he can cut promos for other people as well as he does.
Do you still have this whole video???
I SO need to see it!
Agree with you Jess.Love listening to James E. because he is not afraid to tell it like it is/was and you know he is not a bullshitter because he has been around for so long and comes off as totally honest. He has completely devoted his life to his profession and isn't afraid to tell the bad with the good.
oh come on why is this cut
10:38 "Wind his ass or scratch his watch." LMAO!
my goddddd.......NOW I REMEMBER WHY I LOVE WRESTLING.....DAMN JIM CORNETTE IS A BAD ASS......He IS wrestling. .that promo was awesome, and it wasn't even finished... my god i hate stephanie
That would have been AMAZING if Vince had done it
Please send 2nd part, thanks.
Where is the rest??
dude from 3:45 and on, cornette was actually speaking facts and as a guy who wasn't really ever a fan of him, i have been watching alot more of him and not only is he entertaining, he's entertaining w the truth, and some people just hate the truth.
please send the remaining parts!!!

I love his interviews! He has no filter!
Wow better on the spot promo than 100% of the WWE current roster.
+Anbualex we wouldn't know. They're never allowed to. Cornette is an all-time great, but he got that way by practicing. Talent nowadays just read from a script :(
Is there a full version of his WCW invasion pitch besides the matches?
When he was in school they didnt even have history😂
Haha, exactly.
His mother charged the light brigade
His social security number is 1
Jimmy cornette is not only 1 of the greatest pro wrestling managers but he is an absolute genius when it comes to the buisness of wrestling.

0:30 - 2 months later, Cornette was fired for threatenining to kill Russo.
I'd like to watch the rest of this interview, any help please?
@RiseandFallofWCW where is part 2
That would,ve been better than having the last nitro with Shane walking out on the show .Do you have the rest of this story it cuts off at thestart of talking about Flair where can I get this dvd.
not to mention attended college at ECU in Greenville, NC.
It's been talked about in quite a few interviews that Shane McMahon was on the creative team at the time and he was a fan of ECW. Apparently Shane was always "hip" and "ahead" of the curve. WCW spent too much money and resources trying to put WWF out of business & trying to beat RAW...instead of focusing on building a great product.
This must've been made in 2006 when he joined TNA. Before his hatered intensified
@ReinEngel2
No. This was back when Cornette was still working for TNA. NO they are no longer on speaking terms.
Corny does an amazing Bisch promo.
+ShowToddSomeLove That would have actually been incredible for the time if they did that spot.
Can I get part two please? Cornette is amazing.
When was this shoot done?
2009
It went from Vinnie Ru and I are alright to no guns no knifes $5K and what happens happens
Anyway I can get the link for the other parts of this? sounds good
That, um, sounds good to me.
So what went sour between this shoot and the present to put Jim & Vince back at square one?
At the time of this shoot Cornett and Russo worked together in TNA. Russo eventually pulled strings to get Cornette and many other workers that didn’t fit Russo’s vision fired.
what is this from? I'd like ro purchase it in its entirety.
Pure wordsmith!!!
Where can I find this video in it's entirety?
I would LOVE to see the rest!
hey @RiseandFallofWCW can you send me part 2?
no sound on it?
can u send me part 2 as well
You can just call me easy E hahahah Cornette is a genius lol
This was Adam Blampied's inspiration for his Invasion video for WhatCulture Wrestling!
If it’s not too much, can you pleas upload the entire episode. It can’t be found anywhere online. It would make the Internet wrestling community happy!
Maybe, I don't know, BUY IT??
I loved Cornette's impression of Vince McMahon. It was spot on!

Send me part 2? I'd greatly appreciate it.

Gold!!!
@DeepSouthWrestling1. Ok. I think Hackenschmitt was the first big name to go in for it though. I think that was mainly how it happened in Britian. But there is a big carnival and wrestling tradition here as well. So maybe the same thing happened.
@RiseandFallofWCW Why not put the link to part 2 in your description so everyone can view it?
The 'double knockout' finish didn't happen in UFC. That finish was in a bar brawl show in Indianapolis.
Could you send the other parts to me too?
This guy is hilarious.
Vince should bring Jim back to be his advisor. Corny sounds more logical than he does.
That was when Russo was biding his time.
send me more please!!

WrestlingJesus is still alive .
the whole "Guest Booker" segment can be found on Justin TV. It begins with his rant about hardcore wrestling but goes all the way through how Corny would re-book the Invasion
Dude please send me part 2
NOW THAT'S A PROMO!
@RiseandFallofWCW part 2 plz?
I would like to see part 2 please!!!

is there more? Cornette is awesome
people change, people getting older, Cornette even said "I follow that not as seriously approach anymore".
Can you send it to me also?
there are about 500 videos of Cornette shooting on Russo, and they are all fabulous
what happens after this part.
Connor Murphy
wow that's cool.
I wanna see part 2 of this
GOD, if only the Invasion had been done this way...
If it were written like that,i would have head orgasms LOL
send me part 2
@philaman1972 But the top end guys had AOL Time Warner deals for giant money. Vince Didn't want to upset the pay structure. The same thing happened when WCW guys started coming to WWF like Marc Mero. He was getting paid as much as Undertaker.
Lol that wouldve been something to see Bischoff walk out the entrance into the WWE arena
One minor problem, it would make more sense for week 1 to be April 2, 2001 so that they can start without it impacting Wrestlemania that year.
so true about how UFC is much like prowrestling but real and better.
