@@StarShowdown17im also not completly right about that..but u will get the point. To drive F1 u neee a super licence(maybe even lower like f2 etc) U can get this licence by scoring points towards your licence trough your career (not sure what does all count...like karting, gp3 etc.
But this has nothing to do with a licence a "normal" person like us can get.
Max was 17(i think) at that time of the video. Has already won a f1 race but because he wasnt 18 didn't have a normal licence

For context, Max did have a car at the time. The reason he didn't answer is because the journalist was already asking him about his new car which was a Porsche GT3 rs. After the question Tom Clarkson asked the rest of the drivers what cars they have and these were the answers.

Don't take offence, but that statement or quote doesn't make sense, at least in this case. There's nothing that says the others care about the price tag, if im a multimillionaire id also want a ferrari, what guy hasn't dreamed of having a ferrari or a bugatti etc. Just cause their cars is expensive, doesn't mean that they aren't car fans, or are maybe fakish car fans. Like yall said, you drive what you want to drive, and if they want to drive a ferrari, they should be treated exactly like sainz. You don't have to own a golf, civic, r34 or whatever. That's just to get the approval of a group usually. They can drive what they like right? Besides many people own cheaper cars as a daily car, if not many cars, and sainz was still pretty new on the block back then compared to people like massa. I hope yall get the point, i wrote a lot already

There is something magical about having a cheap car and not having to care at all about it being damaged from use over time, neither it breaking down because it is new enough. It's mental bliss.
Respect that Sainz isn't ashamed to say Golf amongst all these drivers with super cars. There are probably many people who would feel less of themselves because of it.
Schumacher said on Top Gear that he drove an MPV and the reason he gave is when you drive an F1 car a supercar is meh so he drove something practical.

All cars are useful buddy, Carlos got that golf for free because his dad raced for VAG at the time, if you had the money I'm pretty sure you'd buy what you want. I have 3 vehicles and each serves a purpose
@@bzilla1090 Yeah gotta disagree here. Not all cars are "useful cars". The rest of them listed cars that apart from being symbols of wealth serve no real purpose.
@@mohaa556 I drive a sports car primarily because it's fun, I don't care about the "status symbol", if anything, it's annoying that people recognise me because my car is too unique. I also have a "useful" car, but I almost never use more than the 2 front seats, so sometimes usefulness is overrated. I'd daily my sports car if it wasn't horrendously expensive to run and a classic that I don't want damaged by some fool commuter or careless person in the work carpark. I did actually daily it for a while, and on my to do list when I have somewhere better to park it is buy another sports car that is better for daily driving.
@@bzilla1090 even with 10 billion i would buy me one of these cars, Audi A4B5 Avant/S4 or RS4, Ford Focus MK2 RS, Volvo 850R T5 or an Audi 80 with an 2.3L 5Zyl.
@@marvinh4893 all good cars, can't go wrong with performance estates, big fan of the RS2, V70R, 850 R, M550d X-drive, even the little V50 T5. Nothing beats a good estate. I have a M550d X-drive.
