100 kmph on the bridge would be exhilarating ....but with all the necessary safety measures in place. What a view.....I wish to be on that train....thanks Natarajan...
This video of new Pamban Lift Bridge reminded and nostalgia on your past video of a huge Vlog at Mandapam station with roaming peacocks as well as another video also with majestic Alco on toe and a he peacock refused to leave the track despite in moving train and after sweet honk only he left the bridge at Mandapam side. That video of Madapam station outers progress, railfanning and bridge railfanning also were beautiful and situationally philosophical and today bridge in new dimension like Makhali ghats from Diesel single line to Electric double line territory. thanks sir
Thank you Natrajan for making this video hope in future we could expect more from this kind of genre where you would be presenting critical infrastucture across the country.. You have mastered the art of rail-fanning!.
So Pamban Bridge is back Now we want new trains and old services from Kerala Palakkad-Rameswaram Manglore-Rameswaram Guruvayoor-Rameswaram Ernakulam-Rameswaram
1. Excellent coverage. A whole hearted hearted Thank you 2. How does the OHE work during lifting? Is there a short break in the line? 3. Why didn’t they build the railway bridge higher - at least to the height of the road bridge? If so the need for vertical lift could have been avoided right? If it’s due to The fact that stations at either end will need to be brought up, I feel that also could have been done… your expert opinion please
The dynamics of a fast train requires a lot of strength and ability to contain vibrations. Taller the pillars, more the problem. The speed of the wind that blows over the sea surface increses with height due to decreasing friction. At about 10 metres above the sea surface, the speed will be ~3.1 times higher than that at the surface. Especially when Bay of Bengal is a rough sea with a certainty of annual cyclones, to make a 200 tonne train run at 60 KMPH at that height will be very hazardous. One can also "personally" feel the increase in wind speed between standing on the ground level road and on the bridge.
I think at bridge they used same technique just like shukurbasti VB maintenance sheed, for lifting bridge upwards they remove OHE line connection at both ends
They are using something called Rigid Overhead Conductor System or ROCS. The ROCS part is connected to main OHLE at both ends of the lifting span. The ROCS is mounted inside the girders of the liftable span.
@@shubhranshu787 No chance..of lowering the panto once the loco got off mistakenly B4 crossing the lifting portion again diesel loco need to recover..... They set up Rigid OHE on the lifting portion .
I got a video from my classmate thorugh whatsapp (sent by his friend :-) ). In that he showed the engine starting slowly, picking up speed. The speedometer touches somewhere between 80~90 KMPH. Then he moved the camera away slowly and showed the endless blue of the sea. The WDP was swaying/wobbling quite a bit and it was scary!!
@@sridharneelakanta yes sir wind speeds are a factor too. Remember whenever there are heavy winds all the trains are suspended and will be operated from Mandapam station. Then i think the speed will be kept variable based on winds and max restricted to 45/50.
The New Bridge is good. I'm Waiting to watch a vertical lift and a Great ship pass through. If the load is OK, how about the Bridge GIRDER giving way to vessels passing through? Out of eagerness is written.
Hii bro train video NCKS how r u i am telling u happy saturday afternoon when u will travel 16779 rameswaram tirupati TPTY RMM express from tirupati (TPTY) to rameswaram (RMM) to see all youtube viewers only from kiran.
I guess you are getting confused with High Speed Railway. That is different from what is happening here. In this case, its high speed because trains which were running on the old bridge were doing just 10 kmph and the trial run was done at 80+ kmph on the new bridge.
But so many ticket collectors r gaining to profits of trains not a railways okasari tt tc s take an action of income tax department to check there parents account and children account family persons too past ten years to income and expenses to check
The bridge was designed to be operated at 75. hence trials done at 83. Lets wait to see. I am pretty sure it will be 50+ from day one for passenger operations
I don't Understand one thing, why did they constructed with steel, Instead they can go with Concrete like they did in Godavari Arch Bridge. Or Is it some sort of Hardened or rust resistant Stainless Steel. Can someone please Explain..😁
It is needed. No trains were running here for long time. In order to warn people, they had to do it and trains were running at just 10 kmph on the old bridge. On the new one, it was 80+
Lovely :) One of Indian Railways' most historic moments ever !!!
Thank you
Very beautifully captured with great detail. Keep up the spirit
Really cameraman great work ☠️👍
Really Great Job . Mera Bharat Mahan. 🇳🇪

45 - 50 for LHB
30 - 40 for ICF
Just a guess on the basis of the max speed they did during CRS.
Very nice. 80 km/h on a bridge is great.
Thank you.

The bridge was designed to be operated at 75 kmph hence the max speed during trials were 83 kmph. Don't think the speed will be more than that

Thank you
Once the station works at Rameswaram is completed
Very good capture

Good video. Looks like they built the supports and the bridge extra wide so they can add a second track in the future.
Yes, the bridge is ready for 2nd line

Cost is the main factor for not going to a bridge at road bridge height.
Hi how OHE cable will work on a vertical lifting bridge? Chances are there stretching both sides...

Rigid OHE system in place at the lift portion
I guess lowering the panto for that specific portion would work. As the train/engine will be in momentum so it will pass smoothly
@@shubhranshu787 No chance..of lowering the panto once the loco got off mistakenly B4 crossing the lifting portion again diesel loco need to recover..... They set up Rigid OHE on the lifting portion .
Very Nice when it is starting for public ?
Thank you. Date not finalized
Really thank full to the government and the people who worked their to build the bridge❤🙏
Nice video super coverage

I think it will be 50 to 60 kms if there not much wind, otherwise you need to reduce it.
Is old bridge close now?
My guess would be 50 kmph/60 kmph

Wow😮😮
New one is available means after old track bridge is used or not
Why to use the old one which just allows for 10 kmph
Old one is not fit for operations any more
It's an engineering Marvel after Kashmir bridge. MPS should be atleast 60 .
Hope to see E-loco soon
In another 6 months if work continuous in the same speed.
Bro no after seeing eloco you wanted to see diesel back
Nice video
Thank you

Very nice and detailed video, only diesel engines can run or there is electrification done on the bridge?
You can see the catenary wires and posts for electric locos already erected .
Why didn’t they raise the track upto the road bridge for better safety .
Thank you
Cost will be more and the track bed has to raised a lot from around 3km from both ends as trains cant climb gradients in short distance
I think 40/50kmph will be the operational speed ….
The New Bridge is good. I'm Waiting to watch a vertical lift and a Great ship pass through. If the load is OK, how about the Bridge GIRDER giving way to vessels passing through? Out of eagerness is written.
I guess large shops will be seen only after dismantling of the old bridge
Camera details?? Please

It should b/w 40-60 Kmph

What about electrical lines
Physical work of Electrification completed on the bridge. Can be seen in the video itself
Mps of the bridge?😊
Train did max of 83 kmph
Okasari double track vesasi vunte better old one goods trains ki vadukovachi new one matram trains ki up and down line
Old bridge is not fit for train operations anymore
"High speed train" test? Do you know what high speed means for a train?

please report to Railway officials
this is a normal train. Not high speed
High speed is mentioned because of the trials. Regular speed on the old bridge was 10 kmph.
Dont confuse with High Speed Railway which is different
40kmph is ok I believe
Nothing new can replace old bridge anyway always old will be gold.
The train has speed approve only 20 kmph run on the bridge maybe
10 was on old bridge why 20
