  • Uhh, yeah, it's no secret that we thought this show was ass already but this episode wanted to make more than just us take issue with it. Boba and his team of Cyberpunk rejects will take on a Wookie Bounty Hunter and The Twins, only for us to see what is quite possibly the biggest aesthetic clash in Star Wars history.
Join us... as we... "enjoy" the third chapter in the BOOK OF BOBA FETT!

what I hate about this is that riding mounts a big part of mandalorian culture, but Disney decided for Boba to reject Mandalorian culture (which is extremely ironic when you consider that none of that lore would even exist without Boba inspiring it in the first place)

I remember that back when Disney's acquisition of Star Wars was announced, Robot Chicken made a sketch where a character bemoaned that the whole franchise would be simplified, defanged, and overall bastardized.
I hate how right it was.

that isnt an isolated incident, Blue Collar TV made a sketch about them changing the flag on the general lee to make the show more politically correct in jest in the very early 2000's as well too, with them not only flat out changing the flag, but also turning daisy duke into a gay guy with the new flag being that of the gay pride flag
kind of a forerunner of what has happened with alot of female charachters nowadays actually, like they kept the gender the same, but flipped the sex and then removed the sex apeal while making everyone gay by default
granted this was in the early 2000's so the flag they switched it to wasnt the ugly new one they use now but still, atleast now we can like rainbows again without people thinking we're gay now
and I think more than a few mad TV skits have come to pass as well too, still cant believe they actually had Debra Wilson play an unironic horrible version of herself from the black dolomite meets Black Belt Jones sketch in Wolfenstein 2 just without the funny and played completely straight to boot too.
and the biggest kicker was at the time I was like why is this woman acting exactly like that black b'itch from the dolomite sketch on mad tv, only to then look it up and find out why, and it was right down to the afro too.

And then they bowed to the Disney overlords and when they did any SW parody since then, they do not mock what a Mary Sue Rey is, or how unlikely it is for Palpatine to have survived, they are passing all the low hanging fruits and doing cringey parodies.

That genuinely felt like a scene out of a parody show. Like, imagine two people having a fist fight in an armory full of guns. Maybe the two fighters take some wooden staves off the walls that are hanging behind two mounted Beretta 1301's and then clash with them a few times before they both get knocked away somehow. And it would end by one person picking up a shotgun, before pulling a tiny knife out of a little compartment on the gun and throwing it into the other person. That is just about what happened in this episode with very little exaggeration.

Star Wars is like your grandpa. When you were a kid, your grandpa was really cool and the two of you got along great. You spent a lot of time at grandpa's house and he was very influential on the way you grew up and the person you became. But time has not been kind to grandpa and in 2012 he was diagnosed with Dismentia. It began to slowly eat away at his brain and destroy who he was.
Now grandpa has good days and bad days. The sequel trilogy was when the Dismentia was at its worst. Your grandpa was ranting and raving like a madman, and it broke your heart to see. What happened to the kind man who taught you what it meant to be a good person, and who was this screaming lunatic wearing his face?
The Mandalorian and Boba Fett are when the Dismentia isn't as bad. Your grandpa is smiling and laughing and he seems happy, but he's still babbling incoherently and has no idea who the hell you are because his brain is stuck somewhere 40 years in the past. It's not as painful to watch, but it sure as hell isn't good and you wouldn't wish it on anyone. Now all that's left is to try and focus on the memories of the good times and ignore what's happening now while you wait for the sad but inevitable end that, if you're honest with yourself, can't come soon enough.
    Rest in peace, Star Wars.

I don't really expect them to do so because yes it's Disney and they say you aren't allowed to show blood blood or decapitation/dismemberment. It's just frustrating that they wrote the wookie in such a way that he easily could have killed Boba and is entirely too brain dead to do so.

Once again, Boba's ethics aren't constant at all. He killed the biker gang in the last ep after he saw them steal from farmers, but here he is suddenly employing a gang who has done the exact same - what's up with the writing?! Plus, the poor youth, who is being betrayed when it comes to their monthly pay, can't be THAT poor if they have the money to repair themselves (a high tech arm, a knife-foot, an eye-replacement and so forth) and having those new fancy speeder bikes. The action was horrendous as there was no build-up and it was as quickly resolved as it began. The Hutts just ditch the planet and hand over a Rancor AND in Addition the best bounty hunter to their up-and-coming competitor? That's just absurd. More so, it's absurd that Boba just freed the Wookie, who simply ran away. Have the writers forgotten about the concept of a life-debt in Wookie culture? Finally, the production budget has really taken a big dump it seems, as they made some cheap looking speeder bikes that would fit right into the Teletubbies-show.
I like the fact that the Rancor-trainer seems to see the Rancor as just another animal with its own character traits and mannerisms (which is a nice nod to the heartfelt relationship between the original Rancor and his Keeper), but they made the Rancor no longer JUST an animal, but some kind of pet that seems to suffer from depression a lot. Way to destroy another Legends character Disney!
I'm glad the Tusken tribe was erased and this plotpoint is finally resolved. I was worried the writers wanted for Boba to suffer from Stockholm Syndrom (they towed him to the point of collapse, kept him in the sun, let their Kids beat him up and yet he willingly became their enforcer to collect Tribute from the Pike syndicate) which would have been a horrible plot for this series.

An arc that was cut short thanks to Disney, admittedly, but still.

    Instead of:
Electrocuting Boba in the tube of water
Feeding Boba carbon monoxide through the oxygen tube
Holding the tube closed and simply cutting the oxygen
Grabbing some sort of projectile weaponry, a few feet away, out in the open, in the very same room, opening the tube and shooting Boba
Using the weaponry the Wookie himself brought
The Wookie decides he's going to throw Boba around a little bit until Bobas' cavalcade of angsty teenagers rushes in, none having any sort of ranged - instantly killing weaponry either(also not trying to grab the easily accessible instantly killing weapons previously mentioned). Jesus I've watched this three times now and I can't believe this. Boba Fett in Attack of the Clones is more competent than in this show. I just got finished watching Empire Strikes Back and I'm convinced that these are two different characters. Boba Fett in Empire has four lines of dialogue.
    "As you wish."
"He's no good to me dead."
"What if he doesn't survive? He's worth a lot to me."
"Put Captain Solo in the cargo hold."
When you watch him in Empire, you get the impression that he's very guarded, pragmatic, and efficient. He shoots at Luke long enough for the crew to get Solo to the ship. When he's a safe enough distance away Boba retreats. He doesn't need to fight Luke. There's no bounty and the one on Solo is his primary concern. Compare this with this show. This guy gets into pointless fights, gets beaten up and thrown around on top of making horrible decisions. He also speaks in non sequiturs. One gets the impression he's not an intelligent person. Hell, he doesn't even use his gun. he doesn't use his jetpack to get a good vantage point. he doesn't even take cover. How are the viewers supposed to care if the the protagonist is this stupid?

Y'all realize this is just Mandalorian Season 3, yeah? It's the same thing. The same character writing, the same theming, the same """story"""telling, the same key jangling nonsense.
The only reason the Mando fans are waking up and realizing Favreau Wars is JUST AS BAD as the sequel trilogy is because the Bright Color Super Sentai Ranger Biker Gang was TOO jarring. It was like a flashbang of unfitting colors that went off in their face, finally woke the Favroids up, and made them realize that they've been swimming around in a swimming pool full of feces for the last couple years.

Watching Boba be this pathetic is pure pain. In the last episode, the Hutts told him TO HIS FACE to "sleep lightly," and you're telling me that he had NO ONE protecting him after that? No, instead we're gonna do the complete opposite: allow an enemy to walk right into Boba's room while he's sleeping, and only have people come in after he's almost killed. And the rotten cherry on top is that he didn't shoot the Hutts the second he saw them. Hell, I think he should have shot them in the last episode, when they openly threatened him in the streets.

There are certainly ways to make airspeeders, landspeeders, and swoops/speederbikes look sleek and flashy while still seeming like powerful, even dangerous bits of machinery.

    I have several questions:
Why was Boba next to a stormtrooper in the Sarlacc stomach? In RotJ, Jabba's guards were all Weequay, Nikto, and Klatooinians. Also, stormtroopers on Tatooine were dressed different.
What makes Tatooine so valuable to criminals? It seems the only criminal activity that has been mentioned so far has been protection rackets and spice transport. We don't know specifically why Tatooine is important.
Forgiving the fact that the Wookie assassin tried to kill Boba with NO WEAPONS, why did the Wookie opt to throw Boba around the room instead of just crush his throat? Once a Wookie has his hands around your neck, that should be it.
Why don't the Gamorrean guards have guns?
Why did Boba hire a bunch of cringy hover bikers when he has no idea what their capabilities are? All of their cyborg "weapons" are next to useless. In real life gangs, people have to go through initiations, usually involving committing serious crimes, to be allowed in.
