Lovely presentation, and so currently needed! I am often shocked and horrified at the way some people dress, as in wearing old pajamas in public, or wearing t shirts with slogans. I look to the old 1950s movies for my inspiration. Lauren Bacall, Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly. The elegant suits, dresses, and shoes. Those styles are timeless and look wonderful on women of any age, regardless of whether they cost a lot or a little. Not everyone can afford silk and designer pieces. But nowadays these same styles are offered in less expensive fabrics, faux leather, and really chic knock- offs. And don't forget how we act in public, how we carry ourselves, is just as important as our outfits!
I believe it is about never lowering your standards and always keeping attention on details. As Mademoiselle Chanel so aptly put it "Dress shabbily and they remember the dress...dress impeccably and they remember the woman." Be memorable🌹
Totally agree with the above comment, I buy lots of pre loved and charity shop clothing. I get so many comments on my dress sense. I wear classic simple out fits , no flash colours or emblems, no company logo’s. Just classic well kept pieces.
@@patmartin9727 same here! I was at a music show where there were vendors and one of the vendor service trying to snow me on the price of some thing, and when he walked away, I looked at my buddy Tony and said “he thinks we’re rich” LOL
The 5 steps: Select garments of elegance that fit your personal style. 1. Invest in key pieces ONLY. Quality and versatility. 2. Opt for simplicity. Neutrals and classic cuts that are timeless. 3. Take proper care of the clothes you already own. 4. Learn to do simple hairstyles and make up. 5. Be aware of your posture and body language. Proper eye contact for genuine connection. Gentle and controlled gestures.
Thank you so much for being so special in my audience, every time I read your comments I am so happy 💌. I love that you follow the path of elegance 💐💖.
Welcome to another video 💖 I would like to report that in one small part of the video there is a little confusion. The fifth step towards elegance is posture and body language. I am so sorry for this little mistake.
The core wardrobe pieces, i.e. suit, jackets, etc., don't work on Soft Dramatic body types. The go-to color palate, i.e. black and/or white, doesn't work for those whose coloring is "saturated" or muted. Please post a vid with suggestions for these groups.
Why not experiment with other neutrals that are more flattering for your specific skin tone? Go to a store and whole different things up in the mirror and you will notice certain things really brighten you up and other things drag you down and look drab. I think the principal she’s teaching us Are great, and we have to adjust, but we are learning to our own personal characteristics. There are a lot of neutral colors that I bet we look beautiful on you.
I'm not sure what a Soft Dramatic entails but my colouring is what you'd call a 'warm / light spring' so saturated colours tend to work best for me. As you say, it's much more tricky to pair bright saturated colours in chic, multiple ways, like you can with neutrals. I've managed to do it by slowly curating a wardrobe of warm neutrals with yellow rather than blue tints as my 'base' e.g. warm camels, caramel, chocolate brown, creamy whites, olive and saturated navy blue jeans. Either I can wear these together with a 'pop' of vibrancy in the form of an accessory like a hat, scarf, shoe or lipstick (usually neutral colour 1 + neutral colour 2 + pop of colour so it's cohesive), or pair them with saturated colours e.g. a cornflower blue blouse and navy jeans with a tan belt + boots, a coral pink dress with neutral heels + camel coat. As I'm building my wardrobe further I've started to monochrome outfits e.g. vibrant green sweater over pastel green jeans and a forest green coat - paired with neutral shoes and belt. Essentially you need to build up the basics in warm neutrals first, start adding in the pops of colour to switch in and then once you have that down, go for more colourful pieces to monochrome together tied together with the neutrals. Hope that helps.
This was excellent and extremely well thought out.Everyone can put these concepts into practice to achieve elegance, even people with limited incomes. Well Done! New subscriber here.
Thanks!

This video reminds me of Carolina Herrera's quote "True style cannot be bought with money 💕”

I also love that phrase of Mademoiselle Chanel, sophisticated and absolutely true.

This all applies to classic sartorial menswear. Excellent video. 😊
Really surprised that you dont include Navy in your classic colours.

Thank you for your info. I'm a cool muted summer SD. Stores seem to cater to warmer skin tones, so building a core wardrobe has been a challenge.
amazing thank you

Good content but some images are often repeated in various videos and it becomes very boring
On top of hairstyle and makeup I would say … take care of your nails as well!!!
