I have a question as I haven't been able to find clarification. If a card says special summon a blue eyes white dragon, for example, do I still have to tribute since it's a special summon?
Tributes are only made on normal summons of high level monsters. Some effects may have costs to tribute, but you do not tribute by default to special summon by activated or otherwise like a pendulum summon. The effect allowing the special would have to say you must tribute or the monster itself would say so. Generally we normal summon low level monsters and special high levels to not have to do tributes. Please let me know if this helped.
So basically xyz and link summons are considered special summons. Meaning I can summon a monster and then if i meet the conditions y can declare a link summon and even a xyz summon in a turn if possible. Cause special summons are free. Also based on this, I could do a fusion and ritual summon on the same turn if i had all the necessary cards. Forgive me but im a returning player and am sometimes confused on how some players do like hundreds of summons a turn😂
I don't know if you still answer but i had a question. Situation: Banish 2 dark and 1 light for chaos dragon levianir he has 2 effects that he wants to activate. one that does something when something is banished and levianier. Can i activate strike on levianierr summon?
The summon occurs in window prior to when Triggers effects could be activated so yes. Ignore what i said about the effect, that would depend on how they stack the chain
I needed exactly this to better understand how borreload riot dragon worked. Thanks!

Yes, or its effect

Thanks you for the answer.
Can you special monsters during ur battle phase due to any card effects and attack, special summon attack and then rinse and repeat ?
Yes, if the card effect is legal to activate in at that part of the battle phase.
So with Solemn Strike, you can negate Cyber Dragon or Battle Fader from coming onto the field?
Yes, 1 cause it's a special summon, and one cause it's a monster effect.
@@LegacyCrusaders thanks! I’m barely getting back into yugioh and really out on the loop in regards to the current meta and new formats
