Chana - I've used a crockpot since 1978 - and have gone through many different versions as a result! I am so fortunate that my husband will pretty much eat anything I cook! One of my favorites is chicken that has been lightly browned and combined with sliced onions and mushrooms and some kind of gluten free soup such as Pacific brand cream of mushroom - let it cook for about 4 hours on medium and serve over mashed potatoes, gluten free pasta or rice. Another version is subbing out a whole jar of salsa and then serving shredded with corn tortillas and sour cream.
We are at home because the snowstorm we’re having in Kansas shut school, and my job down for the day. So, I’m making pot roast for dinner, will probably start it in about an hour or so. Anyway, I use my crockpot probably a couple times a month, more in winter…….
Girl....I use mine all year round. Comfort food in winter. And who really wants to cook when it's so hot out. I make more of just meat dishes in the summer to have a sandwich (BBQ chicken, turkey burger manwich, beef taco...) then whip out a salad/slaw or veg for toppings. You can also make desserts in your crock pot! It helps when you want to spend all day outside (at the beach) and you're not home to make dinner but you sure are thankful when you get home and dinners are done. Thank you for all your hard work making these videos for us to enjoy! 😊
I won't lie. I didn't plan on watching because I very rarely use my crockpot. I recently made apple butter. But after watching these recipes I'll be pulling my crockpot out and getting to work. Thank you!
These recipes looks great! I cannot recommend enough having a rice cooker. My family also eats a lot of rice AND we use it for oatmeal in the mornings (I set it up the night before and we have warm breakfast. Game changer!!
Hi, You have inspired me to get out of the fifty's , my soup takes all day the old way boil, chicken in water for hours, skim and skim the top, then then add veggies etc, I am going to try your way, Jumping up and down to do the next step is a pain. The only thing I would change is cooking the noodles separately. Then you add the amount you want. That's how my Baba did it lol. Then next I will try the pot pie soup but will add dumplings to mine instead of flour. I am sure my daughter and granddaughter will be willing to come and eat. Sadly my husband is very picky no soup for him. Take care of yourself . Your videos brighten my day. Thank You for opening your life to us voyeurs.
I use a crock pot quite a bit. I’ve used baking bags in place of the slow cooker liners. They usually go on sale around thanksgiving (the store brand) and I stock up.
I literally died laughing at the very end when your kid was like “NOOOO” I would love to see that on America’s funniest home videos oh my goodness 😂😂😂😂
I'm always looking for things that aren't pot roast to make in the crock pot, and that chicken pot pie soup/stew looks delicious! Also, that "no!" at the end was the best! Ah, kids... :D
When my husband & I watch TV & I can't hear it at times due to his loud crunching of snacks next to me 🤣😂. I've made similar recipes to what you made but on stove top. Now you've inspired me to try your versions of them in my crockpot! Feels good when I receive the following compliment from my hubby: "you can make this again", which is what I hear from him when he loves something I made. This might be the equivalent to your hubby's thumbs up sign which he gave👍 your soup 🙂.
Just come across this recipe as been meaning to get my crock pot out again! I live alone so it’s great for batch cooking for the freezer, plus time saving if I can dump and go! Hopefully more cost effective than using my stove as energy prices in the U.K. are crazy. You’ve given me some great inspiration of things to try and I’ve got most of the ingredients to hand, just need to buy some chicken. Thank you! ❤
Oh my word!!! Totally lol 😂😂😂 along with you !!! Very funny and twice as cute 💕 Also loved the 👍 thumbs up from hubs (chicken 🐓 soup) 🍲 Love the Magic Spoon 🥣 Cereal - so good 😋
I love your kettle!! It will be a slow cooker day tomorrow - Snow hitting Toronto, ON CA so the Crockpot is coming out... I have three new recipes to choose from - you didn't make it easy... Thanks for sharing... xo
I'm actually making a winter vegetable stew with chicken in my crockpot right now! Great minds think alike! I love your recipes, I'm going to try them out!
Crockpot liners are lifesavers! I’ve made chicken noodle soup in my crockpot for years - it’s pretty much foolproof. My kids are grown and gone, but I still make a huge pot even though there are usually just the two of us. I freeze the leftover soup in portions for both of us in ziplock bags laid flat so they take up little room in the freezer - super easy to defrost and then warm up in the microwave. Thanks for sharing your recipes!
Love this vlog! I actually made your husbands “ cholent” recipe in my crockpot it was absolutely outstanding. Cooking in the crockpot is so much easier than slaving over a stove I don’t use the liners but my crock cleans really well in the dishwasher. I cannot wait to try these recipes thanks Chana.
Good morning Chana! I love these recipes and will try the chicken pot pie soup in the next day or two. They all look delicious and super easy and smelling soup cook all day hits it out of the park.:) I just love the blooper endings. I laughed with you when your son said "noooo". So cute! God bless, and see you soon...
I just love my crockpot! I have 3 sizes...3 quart, 6 quart, and 8 quart. Actually, my 6 quart is a slow cooker. I can take it off the base and put it on the stove....great when making dumplings. I cook all kinds of things, meatloaf is fantastic cooked this way. Looking yummy!!
I usually use my slow cooker to make cholent for Shabbat lunch...I tried making soup in for Shabbat lunch a few weeks ago it turned out really delicious...hope you had a good week and wishing you and your family a Shabbat Shalom
I have the orange chicken recipe in my crock pot right now! I was so excited when I saw this! My daughter will LOVE this! I know it! I’m going to also try it the way your husband suggested with frying the chicken first! That would probably be nearly identical! Totally off topic, but I think it would be awesome if you did an orthodox bedroom tour. As I’m sure you know there is a ton of misconception and misinformation about the separate sleeping etc etc etc. As someone who was raised up in a “barely reform” (my own description) and then became more religious in my own adulthood - I know this was a topic that I was always super embarrassed to ask about, but that was also really important for me to understand etc. I had some beautiful friends and, of course, Rabbi’s who helped guide me - but for those in transition I think this would be a super awesome topic to cover. Your specific personality seems perfect for this topic because you know how to deliver sensitive topics in a way that is informative but not over the top or insensitive. You’re amazing!
Hope you guys enjoyed the chicken!!! I won’t do a tour of my bedroom, since that is a private space in my home where I don’t invite people to. But I do plan to talk about that entire topic on my channel, so stay tuned!
Crockpot soups are fantastic! I highly suggest a cheesy potato soup in the crockpot this fall/winter if you haven't tried that before! Soooo rich and creamy. Adding some carrots and onion is great in there too.
Thanks for sharing your crockpot recipes! I’ve been in a rut when it comes to meal planning lately. I’m definitely going to make the orange chicken soon. I love the fact that you can get it together noontime and still have it ready by supper time. My freezer is stocked with plenty of chicken so this will be a great way to add some variety and use it up.
These recipes look great. So many people in our community think the crockpot is only for cholent 🤔. We use our crockpot in our RV too. Looking forward to trying these at home and on the road!
I don't have a crock pot anymore. Been thinking about getting another one, but I really don't have the space. Also, yesterday I went to the library. And I checked out cookbooks, and I found a Jewish cookbook. I got it to see what was in it.
I was recently diagnosed with coeliac's disease and I decided to make a pot roast in my slow cooker. I don't drink alcohol but put some $2 in the broth and although it's not done yet, man it smells so good. I also added left over veggies like butternut squash, red potatos and turnips. My mum is from Wales and she says the idea is to just use the left over stuff that's going to expire like potatos leeks, turnips, carrots, meats etc and you can make this into Welsh Cawl (stew) she makes it with corned beef and it is pretty awesome, you can even do this with other meats, but kosher lamb is my favourite! All in the crock pot for like 7-8 hours on low, if you use red meat definitely sear it first. I reccomend to give it a try since you like the chicken noodle soup. I think I am going to start using my crockpot throughout the year because you showed me that there are options for gluten free dairy free diets like me and my mums. Thank you so much for sharing, I am so inspired! I'm going to try the orange chicken next!
We made the Santa Fe chicken soup. We used home canned tomato sauce in place of the diced tomatoes, and five cups of home canned broth so I could put rice directly in the pot. Turned out amazing! Thanks for the recipe!
Thanks Chana for the Orange Chicken recipe. It was a big hit, and I am sure that I will be making it often. Thanks for all the great recipes. Such fun videos. Have a wonderful day.
Winter storm take two here in Oklahoma - so I made your chicken pot pie soup recipe for dinner last night - so good! I plan on trying the other recipes too but I need to get more crockpot liners. Thank you for sharing!
I stumbled upon your channel again today while researching dairy free recipes for inspiration. You’ve inspired me!! I’m 100% dairy free!! I’ll be trying this! I love to cook and make cooking videos too so I am always looking to learn new recipes and grow my cooking skills. This is very helpful! Your channel has so much to offer. I hope we can learn more from each other!
I loved the crockpot recipes. I use the crockpot a lot, so this gave me some additional ideas. Think I'll try the orange chicken one first. Thanks, Chana!
Hi Chana: Everything looked so good, it made me hungry! I especially liked the orange chicken over the rice, but really, I can tell it was ALL yummy. 🤗 Winter is a wonderful time to make those crock pot meals, although it's also helpful in warm weather, so as not to heat up the kitchen. It looks like both you and your husband are good cooks, and, the kiddos eat very healthy meals with lots of variety. I'll have to try these. Thanks for sharing, and, many blessings to all of you. 🙏 Rosemarie 💖
For the orange chicken I make something really similar. For the last 30ish minutes I add frozen peas, pea pods, or soy beans. I also add carrots and a can of water chestnuts in with chicken at start. Just a thought if you want some veggies with your meal.
These recipes all look delicious, love using the crock pot, used one for years and for so many different recipes. Can’t be without it…a must have. Enjoyed 🤗
Hi Chana! I am loving these recipes! I use mine on a regular basis, I live in Florida and the crockpot does not heat up the kitchen. I routinely make different pot roasts, chops, and chicken and your orange chicken and Santa Fe chicken are on the must make list! My husband loves my white chili made with ground turkey, full of a variety of white beans, chili peppers and chili seasoning, it has quite a kick! As always, a pleasure to watch and learn......
These all look sooooooooooooooooo tasty. I live alone and I “batch cook” on the weekends because I just can’t handle cooking during the week. Translation? I cook either two different recipes for 4 people or one recipe for 6 people and it feeds me for the week. I love making recipes in the crockpot because it means I just dump everything in and it cooks and then I put it in the fridge. Please don’t throw things at my head!! 😁. I have so such admiration for everybody that cooks every day for their family. I just really hate cooking and do it on the weekends so that I only have to do it once. And thank you for showing the oops of forgetting to add the taco seasoning. I do stuff like that all the time and I was feeling like a bit of a dork I’m glad to know I’m not the only one that makes that mistake.
So now I am so hungry!!! 😂 I am definitely going to try all of them except the orange chicken-my family is not a fan of it. And that soup looked so delicious and I am not the biggest chicken noodle soup fan. Have a blessed Shabbat! Until Monday, many blessings! -Shawn
one of my fave crock pot meals is a can of picante or salsa a package of taco seasoning a package of chicken breasts let it cook all day until the chicken is cooked shreed the chicken when it's cooked. I serve it over rice with taco fixing on top tomatoes, lettuce, chesse and sour cream. My fave way to fix rice is to put in a microwave safe bowl put 1 cup rice 2 cups water cover with press and seal put in microwave for 6 minutes on high then 20 minutes on 50% power perfect rice everytime.
oh all of those recipes looked so yummy! I discovered making soup in the crock pot when I saw Becky from Acre Homestead making bone broth in hers. It was a game changer for me.
anytime i see something that is gluten free that i think your family would like, i always check to see it’s also kosher. since i’ve been watching your videos, i’ve become mindful about food. if i were to visit someone who was jewish or if they came to visit me, i would want to bring something i know they could have as a gift or provide them something they can have if they were over at my house.
Good morning Chana. I loved the crockpot recipes. Orange chicken is a favorite of mine that I can no longer have. I make a chicken and dumpling that is very similar to your chicken pot pie soup. I'm going to have to try that one as well as the other two. I love my crockpot in the summer as well because the kitchen doesn't heat up. I don't know what we ever did without crockpot liners!! Have a wonderful and meaningful Shabbat and I'll see you next week
It is!! The only difference is adding cream of chicken soup (undiluted) and about 40 minutes before you are ready to eat, break up a tube of refrigerator biscuits and cook some more. I have started your crockpot chicken soup. We are expecting a major snowstorm and it will taste so good after blowing snow!!
Thanks for the crockpot inspiration! I’m going to try the chicken pot pie soup and orange chicken. Your cheerful and calming videos always brighten my day.
Seems like it's a crock pot day all over the place! I made a yummy pot roast with lots of veggies and herbs. (Minus the liners, I ALWAYS forget to buy them!) All your recipes looked so yummy! Definitely going to try them!
How often do you use a slow cooker?
My new crock pot that was still in the package was cracked so I don't have one right now, but when we did have one we used it occasionally
@@behindthegrandadventure3518 what a bummer it was cracked!!! I cracked one once by trying to wash it in the dishwasher 🤦🏼♀️ Lesson learned!

Actuallly in Israel I don't.. pressure cooker is used for long cooking. But one can buy a crockpot of course
I often make soup in the crock pot especially Pesach time when one has such little time.
So smart!

I am trying orange chicken today for dinner.
Enjoy Barb! We all loved that one :)
I love how human you are. Forgetting the taco seasoning and then putting it in...LOVE IT.
Thank you 😊 You made me smile :)
Love this one!!! I’m
going to try the orange chicken for Shabbat!!!! Thanks so much
Enjoy it and Shabbat shalom!
The orange chicken would be a hit with my family. I love that it’s not breaded! Thank you!
Right?!? I was impressed with that one for sure
I won't lie. I didn't plan on watching because I very rarely use my crockpot. I recently made apple butter. But after watching these recipes I'll be pulling my crockpot out and getting to work. Thank you!

That orange chicken looks delightful.
It was quite tasty 😋

I love my crockpot! I use it in the summer too because it doesn't heat up my kitchen.

Good afternoon Chana. Thanks for a delicious video. ❤️
Thanks for watching!
That orange chicken sauce looks yummy! I am going to mix that up and put it over air fried chicken. Great dinner idea!
Sounds scrumptious! Enjoy!
It's so nice coming home to a hot cooked meal. Crock pots are great.
Hi Chana, your 1st blooper was hilarious !!! 🤣🤣

I'm actually making a winter vegetable stew with chicken in my crockpot right now! Great minds think alike! I love your recipes, I'm going to try them out!
So yummy! What fun! Enjoy!
Crockpot liners are lifesavers! I’ve made chicken noodle soup in my crockpot for years - it’s pretty much foolproof. Love cooking videos thanks a lot 😄
Love the big "NO " in the bloopers, yes, very funny
Lol that no cracked me up (as you saw lol)
I am very allergic to the kitchen, my husband does the cooking, but I will share this with Him . Thank you for sharing.
How lucky your husband cooks! Mine does too so I know lol Thank you for sharing the video! 💖
I have the coolest crockpot. I bought it in the '80's. It has 3 different size pots. 2qt, 4qt and 6qt! It's so handy!
That is so cool!!!! I have several so I can have different sizes lol
I love crockpot ideas! We're all vegetarians in my family. Would you please consider doing a program with vegetarian crockpot dishes?
So glad you enjoyed this! Thanks for the suggestion!
The orange chicken looked delicious. Yum!

That’s so fun! Did anything look good in the cookbook?
These look amazing! I don’t own a crockpot, so I’m going to see if I can modify to use a Dutch oven.
You can make all of theese in the dutch oven :) Low heat, plenty of time and you will have the same result :)
Let us know how it turns out please!
Thanks for the tip Laila!
One thing tho, you cant leave it like you can with a crockpot. So make it when you are home, and check it often :) Good luck

We are also enjoying a home day :) We just got another cold front and it’s raining 🌧
All of these look so yummy, I have made chicken noodle soup in the slow cooker too. I love slow cooker meals as it is all in one pot.

These look like fabulous recipes! Thank you :) I want to try that chicken pot pie soup! Yummy!!
That’s so delicious! You’ll love it! Enjoy!
The Santa Fe Chicken was my favorite. I'm trying that tomorrow! Thank you!!!
It’s soooo good! Enjoy!
I loved the crockpot recipes. I use the crockpot a lot, so this gave me some additional ideas. Think I'll try the orange chicken one first. Thanks, Chana!
Enjoy the orange chicken! Thanks for watching!
I made the orange chicken for dinner tonight. It's DELICIOUS!!!
Good morning Chana and kiddos and 1/2 ❤❤ love my crackpot but lately have been using my instant pot/pressure cooker.
Good morning! I hear so much about the Instapot but I haven’t taken the plunge yet :)
So glad you enjoyed! Yes, the orange chicken was super yum and I can’t wait to make it again with the other half of my jar of orange marmalade!
For the orange chicken I make something really similar. For the last 30ish minutes I add frozen peas, pea pods, or soy beans. I also add carrots and a can of water chestnuts in with chicken at start. Just a thought if you want some veggies with your meal.
Love that addition! Thank you for sharing! I was thinking baby carrots would also be really nice
These recipes all look delicious, love using the crock pot, used one for years and for so many different recipes. Can’t be without it…a must have. Enjoyed 🤗
So glad you enjoyed! Hope you got some fun ideas!
I love crockpot meals! They're great to use in the hot summer!
Absolutely!
You’re a crock pot pro! Love it!
Love that you do the batch cooking! I don’t know how anyone cooks for just one person lol I was never good at that either :)
So now I am so hungry!!! 😂
I am definitely going to try all of them except the orange chicken-my family is not a fan of it. And that soup looked so delicious and I am not the biggest chicken noodle soup fan. Have a blessed Shabbat! Until Monday, many blessings! -Shawn
Enjoy them Shawn! Please let me know which is your favorite!
I am going to get my crock pot out of storage. Your recipes look delicious ! Thanks for sharing Hannah!
You’re so welcome! Enjoy!
Almost daily, at least 4-5 times a week. I find it great for summer, it doesn't heat up the house and we can still have a hot supper
You’ve inspired me to try using it more in the summer!
Imma gonna try all these out. Your slow cooker looks to be the same size as mine.😃
Awesome! Please let me know how you like them!
one of my fave crock pot meals is a can of picante or salsa a package of taco seasoning a package of chicken breasts let it cook all day until the chicken is cooked shreed the chicken when it's cooked.
Sounds so good! Thank you for sharing!
I used mine just yesterday 😀 I use it every two weeks or so and I also use the liners. It makes clean up so easy.
Those liners are the best!
oh all of those recipes looked so yummy! I discovered making soup in the crock pot when I saw Becky from Acre Homestead making bone broth in hers. It was a game changer for me.
Oh I love her channel! So fun!
anytime i see something that is gluten free that i think your family would like, i always check to see it’s also kosher. since i’ve been watching your videos, i’ve become mindful about food. if i were to visit someone who was jewish or if they came to visit me, i would want to bring something i know they could have as a gift or provide them something they can have if they were over at my house.
Aw I love that!
Yum wonderful recipes to try. Looking forward to recreating x
Enjoy them Anna!
Oh chicken and dumplings sounds delicious!
Enjoy the recipes!
I would use this recipe for a chicken pot pie because it's so thick. Yummy!
Sounds great!
Seems like it's a crock pot day all over the place!
I made a yummy pot roast with lots of veggies and herbs. (Minus the liners, I ALWAYS forget to buy them!)
All your recipes looked so yummy! Definitely going to try them!
Enjoy the recipes!
