I’d upgrade it to sparkling spaghetti streamers and glitter have the lights on the inner ring also so they glow and then add a few mini fans in specific spots for a SG1 themed party. So cool.

They should get some E-Fabric (LED digital/electronic textiles) and incorporate them into that curtin looking material so they can make it look like the pool/water effect for the wormhole...

I just discovered something that might work really well for you. DIY (really fantastic sounding) speakers where you use an "exciter" on a suspended foam board. The foam can be textured and painted, looks like it would blend in very nicely, and exciters cost around $20 a pop. All the reviews of homemade versions of these seem exceptional in quality. I have no idea if roundels can be made with this, but when my theater room build is done, that's my project. There are tons of tutorials online on making these with hidden suspension behind the foam. Your stargate project makes me think that the "off-world activation" phrase should not be coming from the same space as the sound of the stargate moving. Looks great though!
It’d be so cool to have an office with this and to unlock the lock you have to dial in the correct sequence. Then whenever it’s dialed into the gate it unlocks the door
