So important when fishing to stop and appreciate the life all around us, the odd kingfisher going past, a fox drinking from the river on a hot day and (in my case) an otter that scared the life out of me late one evening lol. Thanks, what a wonderful watch! Some river that!!!
Man ! I wish I came across your videos sooner. You are an awesome angler. Well done for the beautiful fish and wonderful action. Thank you for sharing your piece of paradise ✌️✌️
Great video, beautiful fish, thanks for sharing your experience on the water including the wildlife present. Makes it a very enjoyable time on the water!
Love your fine casting in a range of tricky locations George ...another great video...beautiful, good size wild fish...thanks for sharing...must visit your amazing river Suir one day
What a lovely month May is, as is the overlap into early June George. Wouldn't you agree? Some lovely photography as always. Luckily, I picked up a copy of the FF &FT monthly to find that you've written a piece for them. Not read it yet, but I'm sure there'll be some sage advice to pick through. Well done George and thank you for taking the time to pass on your knowledge
Just the video I needed to see, had lots of small fish "playing" with my fly last Saturday evening! I was cursing and doubting myself wondering what was going on. But I stuck with it and landed a beaut (on a #16 hawthorn) about the size of the 2nd fish in the video. I was elated to say the least. Sorry for waffling but your videos have helped me a lot so thanks for doing them 👍
There are a wide variety of insects available to trout in Irish rivers, however in common with almost all rivers, insect populations have declined considerably in recent years, largely due to intensive agricultural practices.
@@springerspanielful I'm sorry to hear that, and thank you for the info. I hope it balances out and the insect population makes a come back. I look forward to watching more videos, Thanks again 👍
@@springerspanielful btw just read a great article the other day in the fly fishing fly tying magazine about yourself and the killer mayfly , looks the business
Another fantastic video, many thanks George. I'm coming over on 6th June staying near Cahir, can you suggest any day or week tickets I can get and maybe a guide for the day or morning to show me the ropes , thanks Marcus

Great video! I was wondering, are the hatches you have in Ireland a wide range like the US? Or is predominantly Mayflies?
