The Chinese coast guard is a brown water force. It won't be a factor in an open ocean scenario. Besides, they just don't have the experience to fight a multi dimensional conflict. And let's wait and see if all their shiny tech really can stand up to the stress. Finally, their sailors and pilots will face psychological stressors that can't be overlooked. I hope for the same of all parties involved, xi comes to his senses.

Why doesn’t Taiwan place mines in known locations inside their territorial waters. They could publish their presence so China could not complain that it’s an act of war. A few small but strategically located mines would make it difficult for china to perform military drills inside Taiwans territorial waters without hitting a mine
They're not going inside Taiwan's territorial waters. They're going inside Taiwan's EEZ (exclusive economic zone).

Sunday, 26 Mar 2023: PASIR PUTEH, March 26 - The Kelantan Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) has seized four boats and arrested 31 Vietnamese fishermen for illegally fishing in Malaysian waters.
Mar 2020: In recent years, investigations have revealed shocking cases of human rights abuses in fisheries, including forced labour and human trafficking, and identified Taiwanese vessels and companies among the worst offenders. Even though the Taiwanese government has recently amended relevant regulations, progress has not been enough: both government and corporates continue to fail to protect the human rights of migrant fishers in the Taiwanese distant water fishing fleet.
June 2020 : Jakarta (ANTARA) - Patrol ships of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries’ (KKP's) Directorate General for Supervision of Maritime Resources and Fisheries (PSDKP) detained a Filipino fishing boat and Malaysian fishing vessel for poaching in Indonesian waters.
Nov 2021: 101 Indonesian fishing boats were intercepted off Australia's northern coast between July and October, according to the Australian Fisheries Management Authority (AFMA), including 15 which were destroyed
JAKARTA - Indonesia on Saturday (April 1 2017 ) blew up and sank 81 more fishing boats caught poaching in its waters.
This takes the total number of boats confiscated and destroyed to 317 since October 2014 when President Joko Widodo took office and called for tougher action against poachers.
Among those sunk so far are fishing boats from Vietnam (142), the Philippines (76), Malaysia (49), as well as one from China. Most were caught by a special maritime task force known as Satgas 115.
Two boats were confiscated by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries in 2019 for illegally fishing in Indonesian waters without valid permit documents and using fishing gear prohibited by Indonesia.
Their crew members -- all of them Thai citizens -- were arrested and their captains, Surriyon Jannok and Winai Bunpichit, have been convicted.

Once among the world’s worst nations for illegal, unregulated and unreported fishing, Vietnam is battling to redeem itself after a yellow card warning from the European Union.

@@paulflocken2730 Part of it is the West Philippine Sea. The West Philippine Sea is an insular sea extending around Kalayaan. The South Sea encompasses water much further from the Philippine mainland than Kalayaan.

A lack of funding and support , military is loyal to their commanders , it breaks off into factions . People group together.
How do these products compare to plastics price-wise? So many new products are considerably more expensive making life that much harder for poor people. Personally, I prefer glass for a lot of food packaging.
