This is how I envision love would look, if it could be observed. The slow unfolding, the letting down of defenses, the beauty and fragility of it all, and then the full bloom, the final submission and opening of ones self to another person... and I'm getting carried away lol

BEST Asian Lotus blossom video on You Tube - best photography, best presentation, good music. The blooms chosen are both of the broad, strongly cupped petal and sepal, single or semidouble types that I like best! (I don't like the fully double flowered or long narrow petaled types of Lotus blooms.) The deep cerise pink bloom resembles that of the cultivars 'Russian Red' and 'Red Lotus', while the pink highlighted bloom resembles a larger version of the semiminiature 'Chawan Basu'.
This doesn't show the magnificent mature foliage or the pretty unripe green seed receptacles, but all of the other Lotus videos on You Tube show these, and your choice of black backgrounds for the blooms, which I loved, made this impossible. Thank you!

On the day when the lotus bloomed, alas, my mind was straying,

Would it be alright if I used this for a music video as well for a mythology class? I thought it would look great with music I made about the Lotus-Eaters from Homer's Odyssey. I'll credit you of course! Yours is the best video that I've seen yet!
Franny G. Homer's lotus was a different and unrelated plant, generally considered to be one of the yellow flowered trefoils in the genus Lotus. These are members of the bean family (Fabaceae). The Asian Lotus (Nelumbo nucifera) presented here is unrelated, and belongs in the family Nelumbonaceae. The only other plant in this family is the American Lotus (Nelumbo pentapetalum). Neither Asian nor American Lotuses have any narcotic properties. The Asian Lotus has symbolic importance to both Buddhists and Hindus, and its' seeds, rhizomes, and early stage seed receptacles are grown for human consumption.
