The guy with the washboard was perhaps one of the guys from Doug Deming and The Jewel Tones? His name I do not know either. Thank you very much for posting this gem! Peace to you all, Fred.
Washboard player is Fred Reif, former manager/agent/ with Lazy Lester, for many years. Lester and I used Doug Deming & the Jewel Tones on a number of gigs.
Yeah! Fred crashed at my house in N.O. one time during Jazz Fest(1987? 88?) while Lester was in Baton Rouge visiting friends. Ive been a big fan of Lester's harp playing since the 70s after buying his "True Blues" album.He's such an easygoing,cheerful person. Fred doesn't look like he's aged a day on this VDO.The novelty of seeing Lester on gtr. makes this a real treat. Bet he knew Al Ferrier too!

Damn good blues group - all players! Too bad - not all lot of people have heard this ! Their loss !
