    Thank you very much for your video. Can I open an account although I come from Germany? Or ist it just for Uk investors?

      Thank you 😊 I think InvestEngine is for UK investors only sorry. However, I believe the other platform I use, Trading 212, should be available in Germany

      @@TomsPersonalFinance thank you for your reply. I have heard of Trading 212 but read that they have problems transferring money to an account if you want them to.

    No interest on uninvested cash - They have money market ETFs which pay daily interest

    • @TomsPersonalFinance
      @TomsPersonalFinance  25 дней назад

      Yep, I mention this in the cons section :) It doesn't really matter that they don't offer interest for this reason!

    Not a user of IE, but what if I wanted to sell ETF x and then buy ETFs y and z? If I don't know how much x will sell for, how do I know how much I have to invest in y and z? Do I have to wait a day or weekend before I can buy y and z?

    • @TomsPersonalFinance
      @TomsPersonalFinance  27 дней назад

      You can go into edit portfolio and set the weighting to 0% of the ETF you want to sell. Then add the ETFs you want to buy and give them whatever weighting you want.
      You can then click "rebalance" and it will sell the ETF you set to zero and allocate the proceeds to the new ETFs all in one trading day 😊

      @@TomsPersonalFinance But wont that also buy/sell any other ETFs in portfolio and rebalance all ETFs in portfolio? How can I work out what %ages to set?

    • @TomsPersonalFinance
      @TomsPersonalFinance  27 дней назад

      Not if you're keeping weightings the same and just replacing what you sold. It might make small changes to other holdings if they have become out of sync with your target weightings

    Opened a SIPP three months ago and still awaiting to receive any tax relief. Not impressed

      Sorry to hear that, Stuart. Hopefully it'll come any day now, but I'd definitely chase that up with support

      Stuart you might want to post that on their Community Board, there are also IE staff that answer in there, and you will probably find out if others having the same issue. Because a transfer from Vanguard to IE was not getting anywhere after 6 weeks, I ended up cancelling and staying with Vanguard. I know from the Community Board, I was not the only one having issues.

      @@jamesc328 That's a good idea, James. IE need to know if this is a common issue and hopefully any delays in the future will be fixed.
      Out of interest, in your case, was it the Vanguard or IE side dragging their heels? My transfer from HL to IE took 11 days, so I was very impressed. But maybe I just got lucky.

      @@TomsPersonalFinance Hard to say. As soon as IE sent the transfer requested, Vanguard sold the Index Fund, so it showed as Cash. That was fine, it was then the cash going to IE. Vanguard blames IE, IE blamed Vanguard. I was transferring an ISA, but in the mean time, I did create an GIA account with them and make a lot of money, but that was good time with the fund I picked S&P 500 energy. That was sold along time ago, and the GIA cashed out, transferred to Bank, and then invested with Vanguard GIA S&P 500. Personally I pay the max 375 platform fee and I have very happy with Vanguard. IE could not even temp me with the offer to transfer my ISA when they offered 2.5k to transfer. That just did not feel good, your going to charge norhing, give me 2.5k to transfer my ISA, and you not making a profit. I know some companies do not make a profit for lots of years, Nearly 5m losses, and giving customer 2.5k to transfer an ISA, just gave me a lot of Red Flags.

      Have raised it with support buf finally after lots of complaints by me say they are looking into it. Said there were issues with some contributions but still no tax relief received. No wonder their fees are the cheapest when customers don't receive their tax relief, at least not when they should.
