Hey Man, I just wanted to say thanks for all your work. I just started as a tech and honestly, you provide far more training than the dealership does. Thanks.
Well hopefully the dealer steps up there game. Glad you like the videos. Thank you for watching!
Perfect video. To the point, Informative. No showmanship gimmicks. Great video. Thank you
Thanks buddy. With the help of your video my daughter thinks her daddy is a hero.
Nice short direct video with tricks how to replace the screw bolts. No need to take the belt tensioner too. I subscribed !!
Mel B thank you for the sub and watching!
Fantastic video! thank you for the upload especially without removing the tensioner and belt :-)
I am gettin gready to try this next sunday!!!!!!!!! thought it was going to be harder cuz the mechanic at the dealer was charging way too much. thanks for sharing !
Perfect video. One thing I deviated, I was not able to remove the smaller of the two hoses (was hard to get to the clamp). So I removed the thermostate first and lead the thermostate to under the car and then removed the smaller of the two hoses. But besides that perfect video. THANK YOU!
Glad you were able to come up with a solution and work around it. That’s pretty cool. Thank you for watching!
You just gained a new subscriber great video thanks .
Just wanted to say thanks. The video was very helpful.
Sweet. Thx bro gotta do it Tomorrow.
Is it the same on the speed 3?
I’m pretty sure it’s the same. Good luck tomorrow
@@HowtoAutomotive thx brother. Yup it's the same. Super easy took about half hour
The housing looked more square on gen 2 bk with 2 .3l a website I was looking at it looked rectangle or something but my local store only shows this design that was the same at the older 2004 earlier engine
Thank you for posting this. You made an excellent video, very informative. Now I know what to expect when I tackle this job. You got a new subscriber here. Can’t wait to watch more of your videos.
If only I could’ve got you to make this video using my Mazda 3. I’d would’ve been in really good shape then. Lol thanks again!
I don’t have a bolt on my tensioner, also any info on 2008 speed3’s?
Didn't the coolant got in the alternator when you disconnected the hose?
Hi Brian. I have a 08 Mazda 2.3 L motor that is overheating so I am starting with the reservoir cap and t-stat. But before this started, there was a fairly audible whine from the engine compartment when my wife would get home from work. Thought it might the fan going out. I have heard of multiple fans but only can find one and it was turning when car was overheating. So, it must be okay. Any other cooling fans on this motor? Thanks in ad advance.
Mark Young i'm pretty sure he only has the one fan. Another possible problem may be the water pump bearing going bad and making the noise. If you can take the drive belt off and try to wiggle the water pump pulley to see if there's play in it and also look for a coat stain.
Thank you Brian and thank you for the video above. I am really hoping it is not the water pump. Seemed like all the coolant was sucking back into the reservoir as I loosened the cap. Not sure what that is telling me though. Easy things first, then I will check the pulley.
Only heard when wife was coming home? Lol kidding. If it continues overheating you may need to bleed the air out of the system. If you’ve done that properly. You may fear for the worst as there can be a potential head gasket issue. Best of luck.
I thought I had to remove the tensioner, nice tip!
François Laniel glad to help. Thank you for watching!
That's what i thought as well so thankful to find this video. I'm not wanting to remove nothing that doesn't need to be who knows what extra BS that could cause LOL fantastic video that's all I can say :-)
Excellent video
Julian Salas thank you!
excellent video. thanks for posting
My pleasure thank you for watching!
no gaskets or sealer? i just got a this same car. i drive an 82 el camino and you have to seal everything.
Darth Masiah we have these new cars huge oh rings but the parts are made out of plastic now. Unlike your El Camino that steel. I had an 87 and 68 El Camino and love them both.
yeah, plastic on aluminium instead of steel on iron.
is the location for the thermostat same place with a 2.0 liter motor n 08 mazda3
MrMiddaugh4 yes it's on the right side of the engine pretty much in the same spot is on this video.
would this process be the same for a 2008 mazda 6?
If it has the same 2.3 L engine it would be the same .
Thank you!
Ian Lentz thank you for watching!
Had an issue with overheating. Kind of odd, but my 07 mazda 3 would only overheat when I was traveling at highway speeds (50mph or faster). Under 50 it would be fine, as long as I blasted my heater to counteract the overheating. Long story short I watched this video and purchased a new thermostat (weird that it only comes with plastic casing) and installed it after watching this video. I also had to move the tensioner out of the way so I could see a little better. Anyways, thanks for the help. videos like this allow me to save $100's on repairs I can do myself.
Ian Lentz glad the video helped. Thank you for sharing and watching!
