With the bottom end of your Honda CB175 / CL175 / SL175 / CB200 / CL200 carburetor rebuilt and buttoned up-you did watch part one of the rebuild series, didn’t you?-it’s time to start on the slide assembly. Once again, Brenden is here to talk you through the process and, along the way, impart his hard-won carburetor wisdom on you.
In this video, Brenden walks us through each step of reassembling the carburetor slide and reinstalling it in the carb body. Along the way he discusses the installation and use of the idle mixture (air bleed) screw and idle speed screw, as well as the ins and outs of the choke mechanism, choke linkage, and all the fiddly little pieces inside the slide.
This video covers the following topics:
- Installing the idle speed screw.
- Installing the idle mixture (air bleed) screw.
- Installing the choke linkage.
- Assembling and installing the slide and slide needle.
Now that you have your Honda CB175 / CL175 / SL175 / CB200 / CL200 carburetors clean, rebuilt, and ready to go, it’s time to slap them back on your bike. Greatly appreciate your videos ...helped me bring a cb175 back to life after 35 years of sleep
This is some of the most valuable content on youtube
You quite literally saved my sanity! I inadvertently swapped the carb slides and had them reversed. I replaced coils, points, plugs, wires, boots, condenser and battery trying to figure out why my bike was running overly rich. I watched this video on the off hand I might learn something new and viola, I swapped the carb slides when replacing the throttle cable. Thank you!!
LoL I just did the same with the slide. Bought a new set of carbs from Ebay didn't think about it and made the same mistake but also one was missing the guide for the needle.
@@scottlofton2607 I recalled someone saying these bikes are so simple that usually it's something like that which would cause so many problems.
Going to fire it up today and see what happens, hopefully the rain will hold off and get out for a ride. It's been sitting scene 1986 begging for attention LoL.
@@scottlofton2607 mine was a restoration I did 10 years ago. It's a 1973. Love riding it!
And we were off and running today, took the grandson for a ride. The little Honda and grandson just didn't want to stop 😁
Great video, wish I had seen these before I did my rebuild. You always highlight information that is not common knowledge, great job!
Excellent video!! Thanks!
Still confused about slides
But awesome video

Just a few months too late, I sold my CL 175. I always had trouble with those carbs. My 350 was never a problem but these ones are finicky.
Also having trouble finding replacement manifolds for cb200. I read somewhere you can use the 175s on the 200, anybody know if that’s true? It was mentioned additional gaskets would be needed. Or if there are any suggestions where I might find them for the 200 I would appreciate it! I’ve messaged several sellers on eBay with no luck.
Please find a replacement LED headlight for the smaller CL175/SL175/SL350 that’s 5 1/4”!
I’d be forever grateful.
Yes I have a 68 sloper 175 two 72 CL and CB 350 with high beam only. Not paying 75 to 100 bucks for a headlight when you can find them
i need replacement intake manifolds (carb boots) for my CB200 but i can’t find them online, will you guys eventually provide them on your website? or does anyone know of any other models of carb boots i could use as substitute? thanks
I was having the same issue and ended up looking at the part name/number in the manual which is carb insulator and had better luck with that search term on ebay. I also talked to common motor via email and they let me know that you can use the intakes from a cb/cl175 but that style is slightly shorter and need to be used with the plastic spacers between the manifolds and cylinder heads. Thought I would pass it along!
