That's a tuff one , I'd have to spend a little more time with the masters to know for sure ... I love the new limited edition babyliss fx they are different and redesigned "beast" they masters ain't no joke either so far .

So with leaving the first cut I feel you weren't as comfortable with it too not finish that one. Just my opinion. I noticed the fading was not as straight at first so that's why you kept coming back in with I think a 1/2 guard to clean it up. I know you are a pro, but if you take care of the nape and work your way around you won't have so much clean up.

Ant, thanks for mentioning the increased distance of the blade from open to close. I fade with magic clips so this is something I will need to know more about. When you say it goes from zero to 1 (when open), is the 1 equivalent to a #1 guard (1/8")? How did you adjust to this?
Yes to a 1 closed , and I still use the same system as far as fading with I didn't switch it up much accept to removing the weight left by the 1 closed I clean up and flick out with 0 closed with wahl I use a .5 open and fade down

I had an Oster Fast Feed paired with the dual magnetic guards. I'm contemplating on trying out the cordless Masters so that I can use my magnetic guards again.

My cordless Masters have gotten louder. They still hit hard as hell though. I did something to quiet them down also.
Mine are quiet now , the gold face plate wasn't screwed down on it lol

Outside of the cutting and fading I love with the Masters, the two things I love with the corded version is the powerful Clack you get when powering up and the Crunch sound you get when mowing through the hair.... do you get either/or with the cordless???
Yes the crunch is ther 💯
No clack, it's the magnetic motor that does that but you still get the crunch!

in my opinion they are nothing like the regular masters after a while they get louder not to loud. not worth the $250. they are worth $150. disappointing with andis i could of bought two babyliss clippers
Hey man!! Can the level on your andis master reach the 5th notch when you fully close the level? Mine reach just the 4th notch
Same as yours 🤷♂️
Remove the blade and the back housing, then slightly been the notch on the housing backwards and you'll be able to reach that 5th notch.

@@micg8267 hmm how can i bend the notches? maybe you mean to bend the bracket under the cutting blade ?
@@stelarmagt yes the bracket that supports the entire blade. Remove those tiny little 4 screws and the entire bracket should come off. If you push the lever all the way close before you remove the bracket, flip the clipper over and look on the back and you will see the little square or rectangular piece that stops the blade from moving further. This is the piece that you will bend backwards. Be careful not to break it. This will allow you to fully zero gap them if you couldn't before.
It look heavy. I'm all about ergonomics and preserving my wrist. Are they?

I am considering getting a new pair of pro clippers for personal use on my now thick beard...one issue big issue with wireless devices is that the internal battery will lose power over time. It's just the nature of chemical batteries at work....and so if the device doesn't have an OPTION to be used in a wired mode it WILL eventually suffer from shorter and shorter charge times (and thus power) which makes it a shame that Andis went the route of ushing a charging dock instead of simply having a wire plug charge the device. Sure the aesthetics are not as good when not in use but with a wired option your clipper doesn't become an increasingly useless device as that internal battery wears down.
Wahl...surprisingly got it right with their wireless offering which does have the wireless and wired option.
As an Engineer a major design principle is not to take something away IF what you doesn't doesn't make it obsolete... Andis by not providing a wired option violate this design principle and that is the reason why I can't buy it...no matter how nicely it cuts other wise.
The good news is....Andis can take these criticism to heart and in a later model provide the wired option for these wireless clippers and thus redressing this flaw.
It does have a option to use while plugged in
The wire detaches from the stand to use while plugged in and the cord is a nice power cord not cheaply made .
I just noticed that in another review! I guess then it eliminates my one big gripe. Thanks for the info.

It's not a haircut tutorial , the shots of me cutting are to demonstrate the clipper cutting different textures of hair not for me to show you how to cut 🤷🏽♂️
