Great Video...I am wanting to try and make chum for getting bait in Charlotte harbor. Can this be used to like you said ball up and drop in the water next to the boat for cast netting the baitfish?
Yes, absolutely! You will probably use more of this mix dropping balls, than when freezing into a block, so I would make a larger batch. It is also very oily so a dry chum might be a bit ‘cleaner’ and last a bit longer for the application you described. You could also get a super fine mesh chum net and put this mixture in fresh (not frozen) hang that off your boat and it will draw them in close enough to throw a cast net out over them as well
Great vid. As far as the oats go, farm animal feed stores/products seem to be cheaper per unit than human oats, I think. I assume those work fine, I guess.
That’s a great tip! Yeah those would work fine I am sure, honestly even stale bread would work as well. Anything to soak up the juices and bind it all together. Thank you for watching! Tight lines 🤙🏼🎣
I don’t intend this to be mean spirited and I understand that many of us are different. I saw the title and was interested, but noticed the length and 😮wondered how in the world can it take this long. When I click on a title about homemade chum for pinfish, I already know the subject of the video so I don’t need a long introduction within the video. If someone shows or even just tells me the ingredients and how to mix them, I can figure out how to get in Walmart and buy them, don’t need to be shown that. I can’t speak to the last half because I bailed out about midway. However, I gather from another comment there was no footage showing the chum working, but did find time to show the shopping cart rolling around Walmart. This format with all the unnecessary fluff may work well for others, but not for me. Either way, I wish you success with your channel.
Didn’t take it that way, we get it. We have a 45 second short with the recipe as well. Blame RUclips for requiring certain minimum lengths for creators to make any sort of money for the time investment on the videos lol. Best of luck and tight lines 🤙🏼🎣
Didn’t have time. Use too much time with the long intro when we already knew from title what the video was about then showing walking around shopping inside Walmart.
You can skip forward or watch the short we did on it if you’re pressed for time. Recipe is also in the description. Thanks for watching! Here’s the short: ruclips.net/user/shorts9kMvTEAt2tg?si=n53okvojAV_naSU_

Love the idea

Sand is another good ingredient for your chum.
The best chum I was ever able to come across was Kozy Kitten canned cat food unfortunately it's no longer available
Yes It works!
Thanks for watching! Tight lines 🤙🏼🎣

@@NAUTILYFE Good point - yes, even stale bread would work and would hold the scents.
We call it the dollar quarter store now Al 😆
“Dollar Quarter Tree” 😬
I find it funny that just about every dollar tree store looks the same, boxes everywhere on the floor and empty shelves..
Right! Always in a state of chaos haha. Tight lines 🤙🏼🎣

Since you didn't show it in use and working ima have to call this a fail. I know it works but you should have demonstrated
It’s in the next video, go check it out 👍🏼

@guermeisterdoodlebug7980 there’s a part two as previously mentioned. Cheers!
