To avoid any confusion, Building Better Dungeons endorses Mark Rosewater as the ray of sunshine that he is. Even when he says things we think might be harmful to the community, we acknowledge that Mark is a human being who has done more for the game than anyone else at any point in history. We stan the man.

You make some good points about keeping tone consistent and subliminally communicating to your players. I feel like this is something that DMs/GMs (myself included) often lack.

I'd be very surprised if RM hadn't read about pragmatics when he got his BSC in communications.

such a sticky situation. In a lot of ways, I can see where each side is coming from.

One of the most interesting parts of being in this community is the constant stream of interesting controversies. I feel like I learn a lot about things that have nothing to do with Magic from Magic.

Come through Austin's Speech Acts philosophy theory 😂 it brought me back to my MA thesis days.
    I agree with everything.
I strongly believe MTG has turned their business tagert client from players to collectors. The only way I can play the game nowasays is through Arena.
Not only are the prices high, you are influenced to buy products to save the value of the cards, and there are game modes that give incentive and advantage to the collector of rare cards.
