raineisnotabell it’s comparing the items to the sounds of their voices. Sungjns voice is kinda rough like the texture of wood, and Wonpils voice is all clear and clean kinda like the sound u get when u hit a steel rod against something

OMG YES
Obvs I'm a mega huge Day6 fan and love all of their songs but Whatever! has always been on the lower end of their discography for me. Hearing fellow musicians talk about the song in more technical terms and get excited about it has definitely made me appreciate it a bit more. Pouring's still an all-time fave tho bc those strings are STUNNING lol. I also love hearing people praise the vocalists because each of them has such a distinct timbre, not just from each other but to the point that I don't think I'd ever confuse any of them with any other vocalist. Their voices are all just so unique.
Edit: lol I rambled about the timbres of their voices before even getting to the part where James does the same but I CONCUR.
pouring is one of my favorite day6 songs im so happy (favorite being. very broad but whatever (ha))

For me Day6 sometimes has a kind of ELO or Queen quality to them (like Mr. Blue Sky or Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy, respectively). Not like they sound exactly alike, but the way they use vocal harmony and get creative with the idea of what Rock music can be capable of doing.

it’s funny is that youngk didn’t attend a music school but he attended a business and marketing school, he also don’t know how to identify notes and yet he knows how to write and make the emotions reach the listeners, for his demos if it didn’t reach (the emotions) the members it would not be a good song, an example is that he trusts wonpil and his intuition so much that if he say “it’s okay” it won’t be good but if it’s “it’s great/amazing” it would be one of the greatest songs ^_____^ and the songs (as you’ve heard) are interesting, relatable, and amazing !!

Pouring sounds especially like an anime intro to me and I feel like day6 has a lot of songs that are similar to like jpop or anime and I really love that

I loved the fact that they complimented each of their voices, that made my little heart so happy. And I agree, everyone of them has a unique voice which blends so well with the others.
What I love with DAY6 is that every part of their songs fits perfectly the one who sings it, like when Wonpil sings a bridge, I could not imagine anyone else singing that part, like he owns it and same with the others.
And I wanted to say that I start to really love the new reactors (well they are not new we're in march), it's because I've been attached for so long to the original reactors that I've been kinda slow to appreciate them but now I do !
