This is great news. Hated to see this design potentially lost to circumstance. An interesting and seemingly more affordable option vs some of the more premium lsa/experimental designs. Hope it makes a wave.

I worked at Andersen Windows and remember the drills and constant training regarding dust collection fires caused by static discharge...the use of sensors, et all. Noting caused more fear than a dust collector fire.
Don't ever use plastic pipe like PVC. Always use metal.

The website just takes you to some home made looking instruments. So much for kit aircraft.

Bryan: two items that I may have missed in your Wiebe podcast are:
    1) what is the future of his Radiant Instruments product line? and
    2) did Mr. Wiebe sell his Kitfox Lite rights to Mr. Badland in Minnie Snowtah ? (I used Badland Aircraft's captive messaging system to pose this question to Badland and his reply was garbled with copy on top of copy (then I clicked "delete").

I would like to know more about the connection between aluminum ribs and James saying they saved his life in a crash! They make an effective "crumple zone?"

I thought about Grumman too, then two Boeing 7xx in flight break ups then the dream liner cracks. 3M structural epoxy has some interesting new design criteria where they create multiple types of structural adhesive properties. Interesting, is that they spec failure and flex into some of the compounds for various reasons.
I find the engineering of both these aircraft very interesting and am happy to see em back.
The point of ignition at the cutting tool surprised me. I would've suspected the ignition point probability at the switch wires and would've looked there first because dusty brushes on vacuum motors often draw more current through the switch and switch wires than they can handle, while the normally closed thermal breaker switch typically fails open.

I didn't know about about fire. I just assumed they were out of business or doing very small volume. I always like the idea of the untracub and was interested in buying a kit, but the design seemed to change every time he built one and I was afraid of getting something that I couldn't finish without re-engineering

The main rotor blades of U.S. Marine Corps CH-53A-E Sea Stallion & Super Stallion helicopters are made of honeycomb aluminum (I was privileged to pilot those beasts, late 80's to early 90's).

common for rotor blades, Dark Aero is also using honeycomb.

I'm not surprised you were underinsured; most small businesses are, insurance is so expensive that many just cannot afford enough insurance. I had a small business for many years and insurance was always one of my top 3 expenses.

Changing the name from Belite to Chipper is just nonsense.
Belite, as far as I'm aware had a great reputation.
Starting from scratch with a new name to 'Chipper' serves no purpose.
If you make good products and move onto bigger and better things, using the same old company name is worth something. Starting a new name you'll have to start from ground zero.
    Silly to change names.
