What's crazy is that the little kid watching called the roll over right before it happened! His parents should be proud!! That kid is going to be a great offroader someday
Spotters are always helpful but wet rock is very hard to climb. Would of been a good idea to have someone hook the winch line to a tree when he got to the top. Oh well live and learn fun for us to watch😎
2 of us made it to the top previous to him. I agree a lot of could of and should of definitely could have take place but they didn't as usual LOL. At the EOD it was all part of the fun and everybody got some good rollover recovery training. Glad ya enjoyed!!!
I rolled my YJ over backwards on this same climb after about 5 tries, did a full roll 'ass over teakettle' and landed back on my tires! Snapped a hydro assist fitting out of the box, mangled both front fenders and the hood, demolished my hardtop and all glass, bent the hell out of both rear leaf packs, snapped the rear dana 60 housing in half, grenaded the ARB and bent a chromoly axle shaft. Other than that it was no biggie. Building the YJ back better with a 4 link rear, coilovers, and lots of stretch. All the backseat drivers in the comments just don't understand that breaking stuff and fixing it stronger is an essential aspect of wheeling. Both for rig progress and driver education.
Ouch.. hate to see that. I know it was in the description, but at 2:03 I saw exactly what was going to happen when it bumped him a little at an angle.. It would have been nice if someone could have stopped him, and took his winch to a tree for safety, but these things happen so fast.
Yea it was a bummer to watch and most of the flops/rolls I have seen never made it on video because they just happened so quick. I was shocked I actually got this on video. Luckily both driver and Jeep were ok. Minus some dings on the Jeep lol ;) #KeepCalmJeepOn
Yeah there's a lot of videos of guys rolling down that hill. When we were there for Tatas we passed a group with a guy about 3/4 up it and they were hooking up his winch line up top because he was getting REALLY light in the front end.
PLEASE secure your load! Hearing all that stuff falling out of the Jeep as it rolled made me cringe more for his safety than the danger of the rollover itself. The cage might keep him safe...but the toolbox flying around with 50lbs of tools will have its way with you.
I hear what you're saying but everything heavy in his rig was strapped down properly except for his small cooler in the back which dumped out a bunch of stuff and a few small miscellaneous items. As for rolling it's never if but when so it's always good practice to pack stuff up well and make sure it's all secured properly. #KeepCalmJeepOn :)
he just couldn't read the signs the truck and terrain were telling him - back down before you tumble down. after the second failure I probably would have said no more and went back the the greasy mud hole.
I remember that day. It was foggy as hell which left a nice coating of wetness on all the rocks. I even slipped a bit on this trail with my Red Label sticky treps. It just wasn't his day. He has made this trail before. There were just a factor of things that didn't go his way this time around. Oh well shit happens. He continued to wheel the rest of the day after his rollover. #KeepCalmJeepOn :)
Possibly.....but most of the time when trying to concur an obstacle with no assist esp a steep climb it ends with you either making it up, giving up after a few attempts or....flopping/rolling lol
Yes and no. If he was able to stop before he went sideways without sliding down that rock face then yes there are a bunch of winch points at the top we could have used to pull him up. Like most rolls i've seen they usually happen very quick with little warning so it comes down to the driver most of the time to decide when to pull winch line in a sticky situation.
There was no beer involved. Drinking & driving is irresponsible. This roll was just due to the slick rock that particular day. Lots of people have rolled their rigs at this very spot. It’s a tough obstacle.
Grew up there .. People do not realize how steep and rocky PA. off road ridin' is .. It is world Class for sure !!
This is very true!
What's crazy is that the little kid watching called the roll over right before it happened! His parents should be proud!! That kid is going to be a great offroader someday
LOL yes the background commentary from the kids is funny and they certainly have a good understanding of what was going on :)
WOW! that's crazy! Glad everybody was ok it seemed.
Yes everybody was good. Roll cage did it’s job well.
That’s crazy!!!
Indeed it was!

Damn there goes my beer!!
Lol exactly that
Ha ha that's so funny!
Do this hobby long enough and it’s bound to happen. Luckily everybody was safe.

Funny enough this hill at Rausch is where I have seen most of the rollovers I have witnessed.
@@MadGreekOff-Road I believe it - it's deceptively steep and slick.

Video and pictures do no justice to how freaking steep trail 5 hillclimb is! That thing is a beast that's claimed many rigs.

They absolutely do not. I can’t even count how many rigs I’ve seen roll on this hill over the years.

I want a jeep so I can't do this either!
LOL :)

0:23 = time to winch.

Q&A could the driver avoid the roll over by attaching the winch from a tree at top and winch and drive up that rock?.

where's the spotter?
No spotter on this run.
My exact thoughts always should have a spotter or to for climbs like this
A jeep rollover?
WOW
something *I TOTALLY HAVENT HEARD BEFORE* :O
LOL :)
No lockers?
He has ARB's F&R. Just slick rock that day. Rained the night before and was misting that morning.
Sometimes the juice isn’t worth the squeeze
Greg Harris but everybody loves fresh juice!!! Lol :)
For sale Jeep Wrangler runs and drives great low miles lol
HAHAH best comment yet!
Thanks lol
He shouldn't stopped after the first time he tried when the front end came off the ground

ok, remind me not to take THAT line next weekend!
92ext this is your reminder......don’t take that line! LOL
