It's nice that Dan just wanted to hang out with Paul and his band, rather than like, shoot them or stab them like some fans might.
I had the pleasure of seeing Denny Laine in concert about four years ago, along with former Wings drummer Steve Holley. My wife and I sat on the front row and sang along. Afterwards, we were able to chat with them. I never thought I'd have a chance to meet somebody who worked with a Beatle. My wife and I and three of our kids saw Paul in concert in Cincinnati in 2011.
Jerry Reed was mentioned in this story. Paul said that when he first announced that Wings was going on the road, Jerry quipped "Going on the road? Hell, Paul can BUY the road!"

That "...buy the road" bit sounds just like Jerry. Good comments. Thanks.

In 1975 I was 14 years. I was a young kid playing foosball. In the Northwest panhandle of Florida. I live just north of Destin Florida. In a little town called Niceville. Junior's farm would always be on the jukebox at a place called foosball City. I heard Junior's farm on the radio earlier today. So that's how I got here. What an awesome memory that Dan has shared. It brings back memories of my own. Thanks Dan hope you're doing well wherever you're at. God bless

Dan I really enjoy your story about Paul's band and you must feel so proud to have been there while they were working on some of these tunes. Did you ever get to hear the beginnings of "Sally G" Believe Chet Atkins and Floyd Cramer played on this number. That took a lotta balls to pull off that you were a reporter to get in!!;-)!!! I'm a musician but I've never had that kind of attitude to get me anywhere!!...God Bless!!

I never heard them rehearse “Sally G”, I think that is because the work on it was mostly in the studio, I appreciate your watching my story.

@@merseyside2011 I've been a Macca fan all my life, I'll be 70 next week and have just about every recording he's put out, I'm almost complete and up to date on his Archive collection. Then I have to concentrate on his vinyl LP's:-) Been to Nashville once in my life. Was there when Princess Di was killed I guess 1997 But really loved the people . Country music is dear to my heart do to the fact that my late father had a tavern he ran in a country town southwest of Cleveland, Ohio. He was installing a new juke box in his tavern and brought the old one back to our home. (1950 Wurlitzer) and always brought new 45 Country and western records home for me to play and rotate in and out of the jukebox. This was a couple of years before The Beatles hit it big so actually I loved Country music first!!:-) thanks again for sharing ! I'm subscribing to your channel as well:-)

@@rc6981 I was recruited to work the gate on Pauls birthday, June 18th, 1974, A small party was held at the covered pavilion at the pond. I flagged Chet Atkins and Roy Orbison though the entrance, after a while Paul walked away from the party, through the field and came up and personally escorted me to the party, by this time only Denny, Jimmy, Geoff, Linda & Roy Orbison was there, Paul introduced me to Roy, he was wearing all black, leather pants and jacket with a blank t-shirt and his dark Sun glasses, this became my greatest introduction, by Paul McCartney to Roy Orbison.
