花街の事始め のんびり京都 Kyoto Introduction to geisha and maiko

12月13日は京都の花街の事始め。
芸舞妓が芸事の師匠やお茶屋を訪ね、一年のお礼と
新年の挨拶をする伝統行事。
花街ではこの日から正月の準備に入る。
December 13th marks the beginning of Kyoto's red-light district.
Geisha and Maiko visit their masters and teahouses to express their gratitude for the past year.
A traditional event to greet the new year.
From this day, preparations for the New Year begin in the red light district.
