I want to have a death hawk. I do work at a school though. I need to make sure my hair is long before I do it so it can be covered
Edit: I did it with a bob length hair. My hair is so thick that it covers really well. I love it!
AmyLeeBasshunter is your work real strict on their death hawk policy? Why bother with the cut and style if you are not completely comfortable with it and seem to believe you must hide it? You seem a little bit lame and just maybe you lacked originality all threw life , copying trends and other peoples individual style and ideas, so make sure you cover the actual style to avoid what? Your naked scalp? My doctor and so many other girls and women sport a under shave and just wear it with confidence and comfort professionally because that the look they were going for.
🙀 Your weak ass comment just kinda bugged me , I shouldn’t give a shit just like when I go to work at Battle Creek Environmental Elementry with what ever hairstyle I’m sporting at the time . Oh and I don’t think any of my Colleagues think of me differently , turns out my shaved sides have been killing it two years now . You need to make sure to cover your under cut , you do work at a school! 🧐 Who gives a fuck about your dam haircut , unless your professional performance is altered due to your haircut. 🤭

It's a Deathrock/Gothic Punk hairstyle it doesn't have to be perfect, social media has created this expectation that everything has to be extremely on point, it loses its tribalism or even individual senses, many of DIY old school punk hairstyles were not always perfect

(I have a deathhawk and did and do it by myself. I absolutely love the shaving-practice and the variety I have with this haircut. It constantly boosts my confidence (I was /am a very shy and nonconfident person.))

I've been thinking about getting a small side shave, I already have a triangular undercut, and since I have a LOT of really thick hair, I think it could be an interesting look... Still gathering the courage tho! ^^

As I was... around 14 years old I took myself a side cut too on the same side as yours and for the same reason. On this time I was very silently and I had not much confidence... Much people have said that to me and I wanted to be different and I wanted a change. This do not really help me, but I look different and it was easier for me to behave how I look like. Now the time is better for me.
For two days I shaved myself a dethhawk and I really like it. I really like to have shaved sides on my head and be a bit against the system :)

ive had my undercut with the sides almost as tall as yours on the sides for about 2 years now, i still have pretty long hair besides that and most people dont know i have my undercut unless i have it in a bun lmao , but its one best hairstyles ive ever had 🧡🧡🧡

I really want to get a deathhawk because I'm a new mom and I'm tired of putting up this mess of hair 24/7. Baby grabs my hair so much that I would like less to maintain and just keep it in a braid or topknot. Also my partner said he would trim it with clippers regularly. Great cut for the summer!

I have super thick hair and it’s summer in Texas, so I feel like I finally can put my hair up without a head ache and have my hair down without dying of a heat stroke. I will let grow out more but I NEVER want to have long hair at the sides. I never realized before how bothersome it is bc I was too scared to look masculine (like it even matters!!!)

Do it! I have really thin hair too and I now have a deathhawk since 1 or 2 months and it looks great.
Maybe thin dreads are a way for you? They are easy to install once you get the hang of it and they give volume. You can go with natural colours, ombre natural to crazy or plain crazy colours.
Etsy has a lot of crafty people and the dreads serve you a long time :)
Fine or thin? I have fine hair but I’m going to do the one side
I did this and I regret nothing I just hated the sides. Greasy sides no matter what I did it had to be perfect from the blow dryer.
Lady said since I had a cow lick o shouldn't go shorter but I do want to try the Mikey look with a twist but I love having a mohawk.

skyblue fox it turned out great! I still have it and my mom just reshaved the sides for me! I got a few inches cut off my hair when I first got it cut in December but it was needed 😂, I definitely recommend for summer since it’s hot outside

I live in northern MN and for some reason would do my undercuts in the fall. Yeah, it's chilly at first. But after a bit, I don't even notice it anymore. This last one I've had for two years. I began shaving it myself for upkeep. It's so much cheaper. I can wear it down for a subdued look and enjoy the versatility with it.

@@mariew2.062 thanks, but as you can see my comment was 2 years ago lol. At that time i did have a deathhawk/mohawk and honestly i couldn’t do many hairstyles with it. After a while of getting tired of it i shaved my head and now i can do the hairstyles i want as it’s grown out now. Thanks though i hope you have a good day too
Thanks for the pros & cons. Love ur look. I had an undercut at the back about 2 months ago, just about to go up the sides a little....thinking I'll prob go higher and higher eventually... I have waist length hair, love it long but want to edge it up, I previously had dreadlocks for 6 years and even now for myself I only brush it every other day after I wash it basically...so I guess we're different there hahaha. Since I had the undercut, I've loved the feel of it so much more! It's lighter, easier to wash, faster to dry.

Omg I just did this yesterday and I miss my hair lol but I do love the edgy look of this. I think I cut it too high but it’s whatever egh lol but I have the EXACT same length of the deathhawk like yours.
I'm going to give myself a deathhawk. My hair is only just above mid back so far, but I have very thick hair, so my hair knotting up is an everyday thing. I learned very quickly how to work out a knot with my fingers when it knots up while I'm at work or something. I can get a large knot out very quickly now. So that doesn't bother me. I got used to it already. Lol
I am also okay with keeping my hair in braids if I really have to. I've had a side shave before, (many times, really. It is addictive. I keep going back to it. Lol) but it was chin to shoulder length...though that was honestly more annoying to me because the shorter hair kept falling over the other side and getting in my face and stuff. I have always adored the look of a deathhawk..but it wasn't until recently, I saw a video of a girl with a deathhawk and her hairstyle (well, what I THOUGHT that it was at first. It turned out to be very different once she stepped into the light and closer to the camera) made me get this image in my mind of the most beautiful hairstyle and I immediately really wanted it. I have been trying to grow my hair out to just below mid back..and I still will, but the sides will just be shaved. 😉
I've been thinking about giving myself deathhawk and I have kinda the same hair as you (long, knotting up pretty fast). So I was wondering about if you did it and what problems you maybe have or don't have.

Small tip, go to a mens barbershop, they are cheaper and usually shave the edges even sleeker

I have curly hair and I want to try this, but I'm kinda scared cause I have always had long hair. So I'm a little intimidated by trying to do this kinda style. Any advice?
Ro Taylor if you want to do it, do it. Don’t hold back on something you want to do. It’s just hair, it will grow back :) also, do what you feel happy doing. If you like it, great :))
It would add a cool base to work off of for styling wise like pining it into a small curly hawk style or if you have long hair than just changing sides to have side styles
When I first did it I shaved one side and then decided a few day later to shave the other side. Try that!

I have fine hair and a low undercut...would extending the undercut to both sides look bad for me? Is this only good for people with thick hair?
@@e.d.7428 I did a side shave and kept my low undercut with it, not deathhawk (side shave only on one side). I guess I have enough hair, even though it's fine, to pull it off, even when I part my hair to cover the side shave when I feel like it. Ask your hairstylist if you are considered to have a lot of hair, even if it is fine hair, and if you do, go for it! I have had my hair like this since the end of December 2020 now. Still rockin it!
@@e.d.7428 Also, play with different ways to part your hair and see where it naturally falls to gauge what part location would be best to shave and how big of a section, if that makes sense...you don't want your shave line to be too high or too low, but it varies per person, depending on head shape and hair type, etc.

i have about an inch i would say over my ears shaved. I want more shaved, not a lot, but enough to make it a little more noticeable. And I do often do a half up half down look and I like the way the little shaved bits just peak out. And I really enjoy having the sides shaved mostly because I don't have those annoying baby hairs. i am lazy about shaving it, tho. But, I have always been and it didn't really bother me
I don’t need to use products in my hair to push it over to one side because I have dreadlocks. I only have one side shaved though.

Why would having a sidecut/undercut have any impact on whether long hair gets tangled?
When I was in high school I was going through a lot and one day I at school I took some school scissors and chopped my hair off. It was down to my butt and I took it to my shoulders. But because i used dull scissors i fucked it up and then my grandma took me to a barbershop and i cut all of it to about 2 inches. It looked goo though

I was afraid I wouldn't either, but tbh, it was the best thing ive ever done for myself, do what she did though, little by little. When your older though, don't go against your parents.
Just do it, hair grows back it might take a long time but you’ll be ok.

How many times a year you half to shave?
I've got the same style, only the top is way shorter, but the sides and undercut I usually have to reshave about 1-2 and a half months until I get too irritated (I hate long hair, and plus my hair is extremrly, extremely thick and grows super fast).

@@aBatwoman I shave the sides/undercut part myself, but I go to a professional hair stylist for a full cut and color every 3ish months, for top and undercut.
