Just because it’s a lot of text don’t skip over this what I’m writing in this comment could help you save someone’s life. Tip for if you ever find an injured person something the Air Force taught me is called the MARCH Sequence. It’s an acronym that stands for Massive Bleeding, Airways, Respitory, Circulation and Hypothermia. It’s in the order of from most fatal to least fatal injuries. You want to control any massive bleeding first, only use tourniquets on limbs and apply them near the highest joint on the limb (hip and shoulder) then you check the airways to make sure it’s not blocked, never stick your hand inside an unconscious person’s mouth to check for blockage because you could end up pushing it further back, only reach your hand inside if you see the obstruction and only if you think you can pull it out. For Respiration make sure the person is breathing if unconscious, watch their chest to make sure it’s moving and hold your hand in front of their nose and mouth without covering them to feel their breath. If the person is awake and responsive then they’re breathing, if you hear a snoring, gargling or choking noise from them try to help them clear their throat. For Circulation check their pulse on their neck, wrists and ankles, if you applied a tourniquet and don’t feel a pulse on that limb then don’t worry that means it’s working, tourniquets are designed to stop bleeding entirely, if you feel a pulse on that limb then tighten it. And finally for Hypothermia you want to remove any wet clothing and if they are in a puddle of their own blood move them to a dry surface without lifting them so as to not agitate any injuries they may have. Take off your shirt or if you’re wearing one your jacket and cover them to keep them warm, even if it’s 90 degrees outside you still need to do this because the body will lose its internal temperature fast since it is shutting down. Please look up the MARCH Sequence because there are steps that I can’t necessarily describe through a comment that you’ll need to know otherwise you could risk causing further harm. Also you’ll need to restart and go through the different steps if you suspect an injury has occurred, like if massive bleeding has started again and you’re on hypothermia then stop and fix the massive bleeding first, it takes three minutes for the human body to bleed out and die. You will also need to go through the steps every 15 to 30 seconds to check that nothing has changed until the paramedics arrive. There’s a spot on the tourniquet where you can write the time that it was applied, because it’s on the strap that wraps around the limb it’s called the time strap. The sharpie included in the med kit is so that you can write down the time, please do not remove this sharpie because you feel it cannot be used in a medical situation or has no place in a first aid kit, this information is crucial to the EMTs and the doctors that will be saving the individuals life, if the EMTs forget the time it was applied they can always look at the tourniquet.
I’ve made my own kit for first aid and it comes along almost everywhere. I am always the mom at the park with saline rinse and bandaids. I think the newest CPR guidelines do not require giving breaths along with chest compressions….
Rescue breaths are circumstantial. If someone isn't breathing, but has a pulse then compressions won't do a thing for them if their lungs aren't working. A shirt works as a barrier in most cases, one breath every 3-4 "calm" seconds for children while another parent does compressions to the beat of s"staying alive" but slightly faster for Littles. For children you're generally safe to give rescue breaths. The issue with adults is the potential for communicable disease to you, Hepatitis transmission specifically which would permanently alter your quality of life while trying to save someone else. That's why it may be better not to do rescue breaths if you don't have a barrier.
It’s still nice to have one, especially for an outdoor scenario. Main reason being is if you are treating a patient who drowned, they’re gonna have zero oxygen in their body and they will definitely need rescue breaths
Tip for people, take tourniquets out of their packaging. They need to be accessed as quick as possible. If you actually need one a couple of seconds opening it could mean life or death
You could also go to any store such as Walmart Lowes or home Depot and spend about $11 making that yourself, with enough left over to make a few kits, or buy this one which is probably about $25 -$30 and is also one use .....

The TFAK weighs 1.9 lbs and is easy to carry. It comes with a waterproof packaging to protect the contents from moisture. The kit includes supplies to treat severe bleeding and penetrating chest injuries, which may be useful for someone who is allergic to bee stings.
They make decent kits, worst thing about this one is the tourniquet and maybe the lack of chest seals. Other than that, it’s pretty much identical to other kits except this on has more items you’ll probably actually use.

I know me personally have needed to close up a cut a time or two before but super glues works wonders an isn't that what it was designed for for military in the field ? It's a nice pack tho I'm not downing it at all
It’s purified water, basically in the event that you get a cut and it’s full of contaminants, you can use the bottle to spray into the wound and clean it out. You can also use it to hydrate your eyes and wash them out if you get something in them.

They are not required if you don't have a CPR mask.
Instead of giving breaths, you can punch 'em in the face.

I also keep a bag of Celox handy.
Get impregnated gauze. Hemostatic granules will flow out of heavy bleeding almost instantly.

What do you mean by closing up cuts? There’s pressure bandages and gauze in the kit.
