      @@antygod I think you missed his point. This doesn't pay out 1:1 so he's saying that if you played without a max bet you would eventually end up with 80% of your starting bankroll. But I agree that you would also need infinite money in order for that to be possible. In the example in the video you have a 2^6 chance of losing your bankroll which although a 1 in 64 chance seems low, in the long-run it will definitely happen. Martingale only works in the short term.

      We've all been young and foolish and lost money using Martingale at some point...
      It's a very good lesson to learn about probability (and how bad humans are at understanding it) and compounding, now take that and apply it in reverse to make money by making sound, long term, investments.
      Casinos love people using this system as ultimately it's them who walks away with the money.

    Assuming you have a 50% to win (roulette is 48.6%) and you have 100dollars and want to get 200 with 1 dollar bets, meaning you would have to win 100times to double your money with a 1/100 chance to lose it all each time. you can write the equation:
    Probability (win 100) = (1-(1/100))^100
    So if you plug that into a calculator you have 36.6% to double your money or a 63.3% chance to lose it all.

    You’ve been losing martingale all the time you use it because you should accept a loss when you know you’re going to run out of money. That’s how martingale works
    So basically when you hit that 100$ bet and lost instead of going up to 200$ and 500$ you should just start all over again
    Because at that point you’re only 2 losses away from losing 800$
    Why commiting to that risk, walk away start over with 10$ that means you have a buffer to lose 100$ 8 times instead of putting your entire account on the line
    If you made 100$ in 15 mins and getting above 100$ bet is pretty rare you could just accept the 100$ loss and move on and start the martingale all over again that would increase your overall win rate %

    Making roughly 20% in under an hour is impressive. I think your focus probably dropped off after making that first $200, due to executing many trades/wanting to risk more. This inherently caused you to force bad set ups I can imagine. A seasoned investor would've taken the day off at that point and waited until tomorrow to come back. Not an expert here, however, I know the best traders would be fine with 20% in a day. If you pushed it to a full week challenge, and made only 1 hour sessions, that could potentially give a different result. Not saying that this is anything someone should do full-time and definitely not trying to defend the casino. Think another video treating it like a seasoned investor, who doesn't force day to day trades would be a nice comparison. Either way great content as always ✌

Humans are really bad at conceptualising probability, leading to systems like the Martingale appealing to us when if we take time to look into the maths, it's clear that it can't work in the long-term if your wealth isn't infinite.

      Additionally, your bet size doesn't matter with this system because it can't handle losing streaks. If you bet only $1, you'll have to bet over $8000 after 12 losses. And that's a lot of money on the line just to break even. This system only works with an infinite bankroll.

    They make the vig which is good, but on the occasional big bets, it would be easy to automate a purchase of any stock you bet will fall right at 5s with the same amount you put in. Then they freeroll the stock with your money and sell it whenever. This would work every time when it's close, which is another huge margin on the already high vig. Getting the stock to fall would be trickier, but an AI could handle, and micro manipulate, a large portfolio against any number of players.

    In this case martingale would work better if you would be checking 5 second candles as your entries was for 5 seconds, as you were on 1 minute candle you should have been using 1 minute expiration time plus the martingale entry should be straight after you lose and not on your next reading as the chances that you would have 6 green or red candles in a raw are very little, and you should have chose a pair that has the minimum amount of same colour candles in a raw :)
    And the principle of general trading should apply to this aswell set a target :)

This is better because it never alternates one to the other 6+ times in a row. I put 1k into the demo account and made about 1k every 20-30 min. I have 8k right now in total, so 7k profit. I’ll keep doing this for a few more days to see if my strategy keeps working

    I’ve used this strat on roulette and only betting against a 3+ streak(only bet after 3+ black/red in a row) and would make some money.. and would at some point see streaks up to like 12+ in a row of any color almost every time. There’s a reason the casino always win.

    You got it wrong.. if youll Martingale, you should stand your ground on one position, either all up or all down... Also, you should wait after 3 similar (ex. Up up up) results before starting your bet on the opposite direction.. this means you already been saved 3 down bets and so youll start counting on the 4th one, therefore extending your pocket life.

    I actually tried this before the video came out with olymp trade platform and made consistent profits for 7 days, and then lost all of it on day 8. I started with 100 dollars just to test it. Maybe if we start with huge amount like 10 or 100 grand, we can make consistent profits coz the odds are high. Correct me if I am wrong.

    Generally with this scheme, no matter how low you start and how much capital you want to risk, the risk reward remains equally bad… Risking $1k to make $1 is just not logical.
    It's only a matter of time before you lose everything. Even 50 in a row is only a matter of time.

    • @Gardor
      @Gardor 2 года назад

      @@mrmoonlight1001 That's a fallacy though. The martingale doesn't give you an edge, it just postpones your loss. The risk remains the same. There is no sense in doing it unless you're a gambler and want to lose money.
      Doing it once is equally dumb as doing it until you lose everything. Especially because it gives you a false sense of security, and it's more likely than not you will continue.
      Essentially, what you are doing is you are splitting your bet. If you build a martingale of 12, all you did was split your one spin into ~4096 fractions.
      In terms of reality and relativity, there are much better things to stack your time with. There is zero tangible merit to it.
      (If you need a quick $20, just use the 20 you already have😄)

    • @Gardor
      @Gardor 2 года назад

      @@mrmoonlight1001 Can you give me a real life example where a martingale is genuinely useful?
      I don't fully see the analogy. Splitting your risk in the case of insurance definitely makes sense, but you are also not really betting, you are more so accumulating money in a mutual fund that systematically, statistically benefits everyone and creates simplicity and easier incentive structures for the average person. Which, paying a fee/premium for, is certainly fair.

    Martingale can work on daytrading, there are just some important things to consider. First of all you should have some trading rules to stick to and secondly, a high capital and low risk. This is necessary to avoid high drawdown/burning your account. Use it on a pair that consolidates a lot is very important too (EURUSD works fine for example). Since using low risk can take very long I would advise using a bot for this strategy. Let me know if you want more info ;)

      daytrading is mostly luck so you can lose way more than 6 times in a row if you are unlucky maybe on trading it could actually work but still it would make no sense since you are not waiting to get a 2x profit

    Listen, as a binary options trader for the past 2 years I don't see any single issue with it, but there are trillion misconceptions about it,
    1. if you say the market faked your trade then why didn't you use devices to check the market?
    2. like every other beginner you also fell into the trap of money money money money money money money....why didn't you stop when you got $110? (%10) profit per day is enough for professional traders also!
    3. You started to greed the money instead of learning the simple basic of money Management
    4. You thought that you can easily end up in $500 by doing this, but it doesn't work like that!.
    5. using only support & resistance to judge the market? And you change the support and resistance every single minute when the market changes, it is not how it works bruh.
    6. Then we have candle stick patterns, trends, breakouts, percentage of market, news affecting the market (nfp) and you really think you can make money easily with this and call it as an "scam" and you lose, if you win and withdraw when you get %10 profit then you will say "binary options is the best".
    7. If you don't know what you're doing with your money, it means you're losing it
    ~ IDK WHO?
    As mentioned I am a mentor of binary options & full time binary trader, please don't judge binary after losing it.

    As a rule of thumb you should know that if flatbetting doesn't work, martingale won't work either. You either have an edge or you don't, changing your bet amount won't outsmart the math behind it.

    The only problem is every time when doubling after loosing, you only do this to rescue your initial bet of 10$ by risking a lot more. Combining it with a progressive system would be more interesting, like 5$, 15

    This is basically the exact strategy I have used at the casino for blackjack for the last 4 years and it has worked out but it’s very stressful and not worth gambling to try and turn a profit. Also I found out that this strategy does not usually work in practice, after doing research on card counting I found out this strategy is not anything new and has been used many years before I ever thought of it and apparently it mathematically just doesn’t work out. Had worked for me but apparently just doesn’t work out in general.

    • @EthanALS
      @EthanALS 2 года назад

      Also one of his main issues in this example is he’s trying to guess the market, in blackjack there is a set strategy you always use and % chances are constant (if you aren’t card counting) in this example he’s trying to read market patterns. I have traded futures before (this website is very similar to that) the market is designed to loose the most money for the most amount of people. I promise you would have a better win rate if you just randomly chose the up or down bet without trying to read the patterns.

    I came up with this same strategy and used it when I was about 16 in a csgo gambling site where I would wait for a train to form of about 6 balls with the same color and then start betting against them, doubling my bet every time. I won about 1000 euro in a week of betting and thought I had cheated the system and can basically get unlimited money with this. Unfortunatelly I ended up losing it all and more in a few minutes on a train of 16 red's in a row. Good thing is that was a good lesson for me and i don't gamble anymore.
