- In this reaction video, we are going to be listening to a different Snarky Puppy song called Something, featuring Lalah Hathaway! Not only is this a new type of song we've heard from them since I haven't listened to any of their music with vocals, but it also won the Grammy for best R&B performance in 2014! This isn't a song you're going to want to miss!
If you enjoy the video, please don't forget to like and subscribe!

I do not own the rights to any of the music. It is under the ownership of Snarky Puppy, Lalah Hathaway, David W. Foster, Gordon Russell, and Irving Music Inc. Развлечения
Evidence that the voice is an instrument like any other. And Lalah is a master of her instrument!
As the daughter of the late, great Donny Hathaway she is a master of her craft.
She is also of Soul Royalty being the daughter of the late and great Donny Hathaway!
This tune is just jazz heaven. And a display of talent and expertise that is beyond what I can grasp, what is left for me is just sit back and enjoy it. Repeatedly. (You should react to Snarky Puppy with Laura Mvula & Michelle Willis - Sing to the Moon, if you want some powerful unstoppable emotions)
i think she split her vocals there and did a harmony with herself. crazy. polyphonic overtone singing i think its called.
Yep, she’s producing overtones and essentially harmonizing with herself, but to do it that low in her range on the last one…holy…well, the drummer’s reaction says it best. 🤯
She pushes her vocal chords
@@charleshogue7302 I may not understand what you mean, but overtone singing doesn’t require doing anything abnormal or harmful with your vocal cords. It’s done by manipulating the resonant cavities of the mouth, larynx and pharynx.
@@GenXDaddyO it’s not harmful if you do it right
Lalah explains it in an interview on the Terrell Show. Check it out. She's truly a gift!!! Her doctor x-rayed her chords while she hit the notes. She can sing 4 chords at once. Her vocal chords work individually or something like that. I'm no doctor, nor musician 🤣 Check out the interview! It's here on RUclips
Hey Wally...I just found your channel while watching reactions to one of my fave artists - Lalah Hathaway. YT recommended this; I knew what was in store and had to watch you react. Glad you loved it and was amazed at both Snarky Puppy and Lalah. I've watched that video many times and still love it. Great video and hope you do more music reactions like this.
