Thanks 👍 It would be fantastic if we can find out about the license plate. Take care
Great job getting started on the steering and functioning again. Nice job figuring out what the possible holes on the grill was for. 👍
Thanks 👍It is great to have it mobile and it looks a lot better too. Take care
Nice video, i enjoyed it lots. The way that steering gear was turned around one would think some teeth would be damaged
Thanks. I agree, it would have taken a lot of force to turn the steering gear around and it did not look like it had been apart before. Take care
That’s a simply professional job you guys are doing. Bringing this half gone semblance of a garden tractor back to life and even talking about bringing it to shows…..well done friends….CHEERS
Thanks. We are starting to think this tractor is in a lot better condition than we first thought. Take care
Hello Joseph,
good to see the Ride-a-matic mobile again... I hope you have some success with the numberplate.
Take care.
Paul,,
Thanks. It is great to have it mobile and it also looks a lot better. The original age related number plate would be cool but it is a long shot. Take care
Good Job getting the tractor Mobil. I'm looking forward to this project. Take care my friend 🔧👍
Thanks 👍 It looks a lot better already. Take care
Interesting modifications on this one. The front axle must have been broken, maybe from underneath and that may explain the block to perhaps, keep it from deforming should it encounter another hit. The steering reversed is difficult to phathom. The number plate is probably what was mounted on the front. Good detective work~ All the best~
Thanks. After the video we looked further at the front axle and I believe you are right. It would have take a big impact to reverse the steering. Take care
Great work on the 1962 Bolen’s Joseph! It was good to see the steering fixed. I hope you are able to track down the plate number. Take care!
Thanks. The steering was a bit of a mystery but it was good to get it fixed. The original number plate would be cool. Take care
Good progress Joseph. Compared to todays machines, it's nice to see everything made of metal.
Thanks 👍 They are very well made, you would not find a heavy cast iron front on a modern machine. Take care
It is a shame that you had to discard those perfectly good front tires (oops...tyres). I hope you can track down the licensing of the tractor. That would nice to have!
We have a pile of tyres just like the ones on the tractor, you are very welcome to have them all :-) It would be great to track down the registration number. Take care
How's she goin'? That was good to get that ugly piece of angle iron off the front of the tractor. The steering quadrant turned out to be an easy repair too. Nice. I hope you can get the license plate for this tractor. That would be kind of special eh!! Take 'er easy!!
Thanks. It is surprising how much better it looks with just a bit of work. It would be very cool to get the license plate. Take care
I was surprised that the spindles were in pretty good shape and not having grooves from bearing races. 👍😊
I agree, they were in good condition. I think this tractor is in a lot better condition than we first thought. I don't like the steel bushings that are used on a lot of garden tractors. Take care
I was 10 years old when this mower was manufactured. Treat it nice. :)
These 1960's tractors are in great condition and we want to look after them. Dad was two years old when this was made. Take care
Hello brother Joseph 😊 well done guys always a pleasure to learn from you two 😀 thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks. This is a very cool old machine. Take care
did you figure out what the purpose was for the welding on the axle housing?
We had a good look after making the video and it looks like the axle has been broken in the past and welded up. The plates look like reinforcement. Ideally it would be good to find a replacement axle. Take care
Good evening Joseph and Iian.
I wondered about the Temperature as soon as I saw how you were dressed.
Hello Gary. It is still cold and wet here and cold for the time of year. The temperature has been 3-5 degrees centigrade. Take care
Being able to move it around in the shop is a great place to start. Makes everything so much easier. Those blocks in the front axle aren’t stock items I guess? Awesome start on the new project.Question ? Why would you need to have it road plated back in the day? Thanks for sharing. Cheers, Mike.
Thanks. When this was new they were a very expensive machine and most were bought by councils to cut the side of the roads in towns which is why they were road registered. It is great to have it mobile. Take care
Great progress on this old beast of a machine have a great one
Thanks, it looks a lot better. Take care
Every tractor should have a shen breaker on the front of it. Those front tires don't look that bad. Lol. I think that the front homemade bracket was for hanging weights on? The tractor definitely looks better now. Great job getting a start on it. Take care
Thanks. It is surprising how much better it looks with just a little work. We have a pile of tyres like that which you are welcome to have :-) Take care
A good move to make it mobile. So how many tractors do you have now?
Thanks. We have over 50 old garden tractors now in our collection. Take care
Good job Joseph, especially getting that lump of scrap off the front, hope you find out about the reg plate
Thanks. The tractor looks a lot better now, it is surprising how much difference this changes made. Take care
Hello Joseph. It is great to see the state this tractor is in when it arrives in your hands, because we all know it will be an amazing transformation. All the best to you and your family, Ben
Thank you for the kind words 👍 The tractor is looking better already. Take care
Good job and video. Good Luck, Rick
Thank you. It is good to have it mobile. Take care
You have your job cut out for you on that newest project. You can do it.
Thank you very much, it is already looking much better. Take care
I enjoy the initial inspection of the red Bolens. Enjoy the journey - cheers
Thanks. It is always good to have a good look around a new machine. Take care
Good work Joseph, on to the engine running!
Phil
Thanks. I am thinking that we have a stuck exhaust valve on the engine. It will be interesting to see what condition the bore is. Take care
Great job. Short and sweet.
Thanks. It is good to have it moble and it is looking much better already. Take care
very informative content
Glad you think so! Take care
Cracking job, you will be scooting around on it in no time 👍
Thanks. It already looks a lot better. Take care
Would the plate be to allow road travel? That 1-3-5 looks like an auction number.
I had not thought about an auction number. UK number plates are age related and if we can find the original number it will look great on the tractor. Even if we did not have the plate it would be possible to road register it but without the old registration it would be almost impossible to get an age related plate and it would be allocated a plate starting with a "Q". Take care
It is a good start to be able to move it easy ! Well done fellows 👍
Thanks. We have limited space so it is good to have the tractor mobile. Take care
Weren't these a CVT transmission?
They have both a gearbox with high, low and reverse and In addition to this they have six speeds in each range that are obtained through the Versa-matic drive. It works very well. Take care
Great show Joseph
Thank you very much. Take care
Full watch guys!
Thank you Gary, we appreciate your support. Take care
I guess you knocked your shin on the shin breaker 🥴 ouch that hurts, I know how it feels 😂... It's nice to see the gold colour under the orange paint 👍🏻. Well done team GTB and have a great week Joseph 🙋🏼♂
Thanks. One of us knocked our shin on the tractor and it was not me :-) The tractor is looking a lot better already. Take care
@@GardenTractorBoy Ouch 🤕😂
Great video fellas. Any ideas why the quadrante would have been turn around.? Great progress. 👋👋👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks. The reversed steering quadrant could only have come from a large impact to the steering, it had not been taken apart before. I am surprised it did not knock teeth off the quadrant, we may find some damage when we look closer. Take care
👍🏻👍🏻👋👋
