They are some of the most compassionate, most giving and understanding men on planet earth. It would also raise red flags for him, like why is this woman even focused on dating when she has no food and home for herself, shouldn’t she be out working on a career, or at least wait some tables to pay the most basic of bills. Starting with my first "relationship" in high school, my boyfriend and I took turns paying for dates and whatnot because it just made sense to mutually support each other. I still keep that shit up with friends and romantic partners now even though I'm a relatively broke college student. It also could have been that she didn't want to be dependent upon the other person. I, for one, am the exact same way. I don't like making other people pay for me; if I want to go out and have fun, I will earn the money to do so or I just won't go out. While some women may be gold-diggers (some men as well), generalizing is usually not the best route to go on. It's just better to live more open-minded.
