    I have been a great love of you on “Young and Restless” and when I saw you years ago being a quilter I have tried to follow you! You are so special and have thought that when you were first on “Young and the Restless.”

    Hello, Beth. I watched you on The Young and the Restless back in the 80's, maybe even in the late 70's. That was the only soap I even watched. Fast forward to 2024 and I find you slow stitching on RUclips. Glorious. I've been slow stitching for a couple of years now and feel I have found my happy hobby place. I look forward to seeing more of your content.

      Thank you. I'm teaching a slow stitch class tomorrow in a lovely beach town in the central coast of california at a gorgeous quilt shop. Love love love it and have a daily practice.

    Love this idea! I do handwork on my quilts, and so going to make some project bags with more vintage looks. And maybe some book covers. ❤️

      Lucky! You seem to have fantastic op shop options down there!! Where I live, things are newer, cheaper, and not cared for, so not much in terms of vintage or wool. (it's California, so not too cold, lol) And I'm LOVING working with the matalasse the best, texture is fantastic. Thanks for saying hello!!!

    Thank you so much for this info, we don’t all have access to real vintage fabrics! Do you have a link to those quilts? Cheers from Australia

    • @BethMaitlandDramaQueenBeeUnltd
      @BethMaitlandDramaQueenBeeUnltd  3 месяца назад

      I did not include source links because they are not always available. I purchased the ones shown on Amazon.com. Cheaper to source locally to your country. In search, use 100% cotton and matalasse or quilt or coverlet as key words. Then pre wash items on hot and tumble dry for best shrinkage. I'm experimenting with coffee and tea dying small portions as well to add to the aged and vintage look. I'll perhaps do a video on that soon. Thanks for saying hello!!!!!

      @@kathyjohnson1911 my area is mostly agricultural, and therefore sort of transient...therefore, no great thrifting or many historical areas beyond missions. You're lucky! I may get up there one of these days.

    Hi Beth, I have a question that I am embarrassed to ask. What is slow stitching exactly?

    • @BethMaitlandDramaQueenBeeUnltd
      @BethMaitlandDramaQueenBeeUnltd  4 месяца назад +2

      It's a practice of doing hand sewing, embroidery and fabric collage, that is a meditation to relieve stress and slow down by putting work in your hands and just sewing. It is very popular as a way to schedule daily or weekly time for yourself as in a mindfulness practice. The covers of some of my videos are examples of my nearly daily handwork.
