    I had one like this at around 14 myself. My dad bought it for me as my first bike and it was cool. Back then in early 90s he bought it for 200 bucks.

    That was my first bike as well. Same color, same everything! The sound of that engine brings back some great memories. I was the first kid in my neighbor hood with a bike. By the end of that summer I think we had about 12 kids with bikes. Screaming up and down the streets! Nobody got killed.

    My first bikewas same colour as yours,but Ts100,underswept exhaust,chrome fromt and rear mud guards.

    One just like this was actually the first one I owned too when I was 12, things were different back then. Lol. I paid $75 for it by mowing the neighbors yard for months one summer, great times.

    our "first" bikes will always make us smile eh! mine was a Kawasaki KE 175 that dad scored ( the bike was only 10 years old so...) it was mint! low k's not a scratch lol.... we took off the mirrors, turn signals etc., put on some knobbies and ya, i thrashed it for 3 years lol, and while it wasnt a pure mx bike she went good..... and i always had gas when my buddies Elsinore was dry lol, course then i "borrowed " dads saw gas..... DOH ! Im looking into a TC250 , and ended up here lol, cheers from Canada

    I had the same bike
    bought used for $185 in late 80s, sold a few years later for $250
    had some electrical issues but ran 100% and a fun ride

      same i didn't even try to fix the wiring like you said what a mess but what a super reliable motor it just wouldn't die

    I recently nabbed a 78 ds185 off market place for 900 as my first bike! A lot fun to cruise around on! Has been good for learning!

    I also had one back in 1974. Brand new, Mine was 1974 suzuki 185 enduro, it was yellow. It had 10 gears ratio, 5 gears for dirt and, 5 gears for road. Good times...

    New subscriber, working through your videos. You have on of the best channels. I just bought a 74 TS 185! In Running condition. Taking it camping in NY state this coming weekend. New chain and sprockets, brakes and battery.

    Sweet deal! That thing rips like hell! I'll lube the rpm cable to avoid that wild needle from going nuts

      Ryan Blanco Haha thanks. I tried lubing the cable, it turns out the tach casing on the back is actually broken where the tachometer cable goes in.

    Brings me back i had one around 2004 ish i drove it around for a summer b4 i killed it and sold it. The power was comparable to my buddys 450 yamaha 4 wheeler. Would skat right along it would. Had the odd speed wobble on dirt. Just give er more juice and it would straighten right back out

    I had the '75 model, used to do 1/4 mile wheelies every day on it, haha. I would pull her up in 2nd and shift thru 5th before bringing it down.

    oh so many memories and oh so much fun mine never had any lights or front brakes the seat, exhaust pipe and fuel tank were all wired in place oh and the swivel part on the kick start but what a fantastic bike it just wouldn't die

    remember back in 70's would drive one back in pa mountains on farm do remember disconnecting one wire on ignition switch to hot wire it

      definitely buy it! These things will only be going up in value! I've got mine sitting in the basement now. When I get some time in the future I'm going to go through the whole thing and rehab it

      @@NoNonsenseKnowHow just getting back into bikes, my son bought a little Yamaha XT 250 last summer. It's a better bike than I would've thought! A couple of friends ride older trail bikes and I'm not even going to try to resist the temptation haha! I'm looking the most for either a Yamaha DT 175 or a Suzuki TS 185 cause they seem to be a good balance between weight and power. I'd consider other bikes too though.... I'm hoping to find something before spring when the prices go up.

    Did you ever do any work on it and if so what website did you order your parts from? I got one for 30 bucks and it needs a lot of work

      It's a five-speed. Is that even with the engine running yours only goes up twice?

    Are these things street legal in most places? I really want one, but I’m looking for something I can ride on the road.

      Yes they are if you have a title. As long as you don't plan on cruising on the highway at all. This would only really be good for local and back roads.

      I would guess about $1200 to $1500 because of how original it is. But it has enormous sentimental value to me since its identical to the first bike i ever owned!
