ha ha i absolutely love this..its so on-point..my bestie and i are always saying "devish shcho vona nocich" lol.. on top of the fact i worked at suzy-q..you all are the best!!
It's funny how true it is, and all the drama surrounding this video just proves it further. I'm first generation Ukrainian and this is the reason why I don't have any Ukrainian friends...they are so damn dramatic.
@HannichkaK i am a third generation ukie and i speak fluently. obviously its going to be different than the present day ukie cause it evolved over time. We speak old ukrainian. You speak new Ukrainian. When ukrainian immigrants came over here they stuck to their traditional ukie. Over time in Ukraine, the language evolved, whereas in the US and other countries holding Ukrainian Diaspora, the Ukrainian language stayed the same. this is the ukrainian that we know.
and plus....this would be what American-Ukrainians do. I am a true ukrainian and never in my life have i or my other ukrianian friends have acted like that... NEVER!!!
This is typical Ukrainian-American, Galician-influenced dialect that is being used in the video. This argument has been going on for years. It is nothing new. This Galician dialect is no longer as prevalent in Western Ukraine but has flourished in the U.S. I remember the frustration I faced in Ukrainian school--going from one class to another and each teacher pronounced words differently and placed the accent on words differently. Words like "fayno" were ridiculed and forbidden in my household.
@UAdanielTOR 1) they are either 2nd or 3rd generation ukies 2) they are speaking an older version of Ukrainian which is less russified than the present day language 3) they are probably more ukrainian than you will ever be.
@UAdanielTOR I'm sure it has mutated since hitting North American shores but it was based on Galician dialect. Don't get me wrong--I'm not a fan. I don't use the word "fajno" at all. In fact, I never spoke this dialect but had many Ukrainian school teachers who did. To continue, nothing irks me more than hearing "cha" instead of "tsia." My father was born within a few km of the Polish border and still managed to speak Ukrainian impeccably. Apparently not everyone was so lucky.
I mean that might be true for Ukrainians who were born in America, but not for Ukie girls that live in Ukraine! Those are two different types of Ukie! But I still loved it, especially dyvysya sho vona nose!I was rolling on the floor!!! Nice job!
chill out dude. these guys ARE Ukrainian. and they arent making fun of people from Ukraine. They are just messing because to be perfectly honest there are tons of girls who sound like that but they know its just for good fun. Plus that last part was completely unnecessary
@coolgirlNY You sound like a really nice girl, so I'm going to try and help a sister out. :) Чорне море--Чорноморці--not Чорноморчі. This is what UAdanielTOR was trying to explain (albeit not very nicely). He was trying to make a point, and he is right. I think, as Americans, we get frustrated when we hear someone say "aks" versus "ask." This situation is no different. I am, by no means, trying to insult you. Just trying to help. Hence, your "morchi" are actually "mortsi."
@nyrangers993 you are wrong in so many ways! 2nd and 3rd generation doesn't speak MORE of Ukrainian.Ukrainian language came from a praslovyanska , which is staroslovyanska.Which is the basin of Ukrainian and Russian.Later on the languages came from davnyoRuska, which is again basin of Ukrainian and Russian. The language that 2nd gener, speaks is more Polish.Linguist and scientist proved that modern Ukrainian is the closest to Ukrainian spoken before Russia took over! Please don't argue more...
@staceytoronto I am not the one in rage here. I am simply stating the facts. What to be jealous of?To your information I live in America. The only one throwing angry words here is you.I never said any shit about Ukie Canadians or Ukie Americans. I simply stated the facts of which I was a witness.I would recommend you to visit a homeland and say all of those things to Ukrainian people, and watch what happens:) Dobrogo zdorovyachka tobi!
@nyrangers993 Yes, this is my point!Language is not dead as long as nation is not dead! But here is the messed up thing, saying that Ukranian-American speak more Ukrainian than Ukrainians, is not right! We speak modern Ukrainian which includes some of foreign words as well. But one more time it is not right to say! WE SPEAK THE RIGHT LANGUAGE, you SPEAK MORE RUSSIAN!Of course when you throw accusations we throw them back!Ukrainians are not stupid! We know what we are talking about!
@coldblackvoid I know the history of Ukraine, I was born there. What you are doing is trying to twist history to your own liking. It is true that ukrainians, belorussians, and russians all came form Rus. However what does Ukrainians calling themselves rusyny have to do with anything, by the way it was only rusyny, never ruski. Thirdly when western Ukrainians were under Austrian and Polish rule they NEVER longest for russia to take over. What they longed for was freedom from Austria and Poland
How can you say you are more Ukrainian than those who were born there ? Where is the logic ? Ukrainian is not your first language and you don't speak it fluently and correct. Being Ukrainian is more than just eating "pyrohy and borsch" !
@iloveeminem1230 hahaha I'm Ukrainian i find this so funny, i don't know what your problem is, its hilarious! and i dont think 'everyone' speaks in Ukrainian about someones outfit in public.
@staceytoronto Don't throw angry words toward Ukrainian people.Knowing more than one language is good, including Russian!More people in the world speak Russian than Ukrainian. Yes,I hate it myself when Ukrainians are showing off and speak Russian with heavy Ukie accents!Pardon me asking but have you been back to Ukraine to live there, not to visit for a week?Culture changes and Ukraine doesn't live in an age of postoly and unending gopak! This video doesn't justify all Ukie girls!
stop cursing and wasting you time hating moskali - the russians were not our enemy tsarist regime an soviets were thank you very much from a old Uke woman
@nyrangers993 ...I studied this for more than 5 years, I have a degree in Ukrainian linguistics and cultural formation, all of your arguments are very vague!
Forgot to mention you guys are hilarious. Great comedic acting chops.
People who aren't Ukrainian don't understand how accurate this is XD
ha ha i absolutely love this..its so on-point..my bestie and i are always saying "devish shcho vona nocich" lol.. on top of the fact i worked at suzy-q..you all are the best!!

It's funny how true it is, and all the drama surrounding this video just proves it further. I'm first generation Ukrainian and this is the reason why I don't have any Ukrainian friends...they are so damn dramatic.
"i just don't understand how the boys can just sit at the tiki bar and drink all day?!" HAHAHAHA perfect.

@UAdanielTOR For the record, this isn't indicative of the way ALL Ukrainian-Americans/Ukrainian-Canadians speak.

@coldblackvoid what I was getting at was, what is your point?
