September 15, Date of murder. September 20, Y chromosome DNA tests identify DNA of 2 Asian men. October 1, They were arrested. October 2, They pleads guilty to murder claiming they turned on after seeing the victims making love. October 3, demonstrate at the crime scene with healthy appearance, not tired and sometimes smiled. - Scotland Yard officers already came to Thailand to inspect the investigation and never mentioned any false tests. The only thing that they concerned is that the crime scene might be confounded from the villagers who come by to see the crime scene.
- But DNA results clearly show only DNAs from 2 Asian men, so there is no confounding. - In court, they claimed they were assaulting by the interpreter ----> The 1st defendant refused and was attacked by an interpreter and threatened that If not accepted, they will be attacked and killed and thrown in the middle of the sea. If accepting, they will be in prison for only 4 to 5 years. Later, the interpreter said that the 2nd defendant had been arrested and spoke to the 2nd defendant by phone. The 2nd defendant said that he was beaten to death ----> No convincible evidence was shown in the court anyway.
Many murder cases in America link to the murderers from DNA found in rugs, cars, clothes, etc, after keeping the evidence for more than 20 years and reanalyze them because of the development of DNA technology. Why DNA found deep in vajayjay can't be used to link to the murderers?
Just a few points as a retired senior detective. DNA - contamination is a real issue indeed and would certainly make it difficult to cross match evidence to a suspect, but when collected correctly it is indeed far more accurate and far more scientific than fingerprints. Fingerprints - for many years, I'd go as far as saying at least about 20 years, as a result of a case and trial in the UK, are no longer a matter of FACT, rather a matter of opinion, based on the level of expertise of the person doing the analysis and comparison. (One of the cases concerned a supposed fingerprint match at a crime scene to that of a female police officer. She was charged with perjury, later dismissed after an enquiry). In the case of the couple murdered on the beach, I think I got this from a tv program covering the case, that 'suggested' 'Thai mafia' involvement, and some cctv footage regarding movement of some key individual(s) close to the scene at or around the same time as the incident took place. Can't remember much more about it as it was some years ago.
what really ramps it all up is that apparently one family "owns" the island and there is virtually no police presence (3, and rumor is they, like many are paid off or fear "reprecussions"). I've read that the island was virtually uninhabited even as recently as 1940s. Very curious. Could be made a government park, run by the gov for tourism. 13 guys have jumped to their death AT Suvarnabhumi Airport rather than go home. It's not impossible that a few of these deaths might be this, or just accidents. But the ones involving pretty young women does raise a few red flags. AND the Indian COUPLE that BOTH drowned in their pool? There is enough conflicting or NO evidence to make one wonder.
The Thai authorities never let the facts (autopsy and DNA) keep them from creating their own self serving cause of death. The fact that they refuse to bring the red bull heir to justice only proves they can be paid off. That this author has an outstanding arrest warrant is disgusting. Everyone going to Thailand should keep this in mind and hope they don't run afoul of the Thai police. I can think of few countries with more corrupt authorities.
So after all of this time why is no one doing anything about trying to get this poor woman’s arrest warrant removed? She’s done nothing but try to tell the truth and see justice prevail.
Corruption dude. Just don't go there. Last victims were two wealthy Indian girl owners who drowned in a swimming pool that was closed off to public and staff send nothing. Venetian were not wishing at this 5 start resort..... Sure!
I remember the arrest of the 2 burmese men.. first thing I thought of was that they were innocent and were being arrested because they were burmese. Thailand has LOTS of crime committed by thai gangs which are protected by the thai police ( which is worst then the gangs). All countries which have a large tourist trade has the same problem.
Too many deaths to be coincidental and when's the dental and ivorty experience some type some Thai culture that doesn't care if foreigners are there or alive the foreigner needs to pay... Will I go there not likely there are other places in the world to go Thailand oh Thailand has been over saturated with did it with foreign money and They can be quite jaded
I lived Samui 1994 for 5-6 years, anyone who lives / lived there and gets on with everyone well knows the score on how to adapt to the Asian way of thinking and the minds of Thai men. Thai Society has a very very violent dark side especially in the beach resorts and islands towards tourists , stich ups, rapes , etc etc it's just never reported . I was told by a retired Millitary Thai friend of mine, prior to tourism , the land on the seafront was regarded as cheap worthless land with just coconuts, so land was given to the bad boys of the families, well now the bad boys control most things in Thai tourist places.
I think there are more people died from motobike accident than being murdered on KohTao for the past ten years. bad things just happen. Keep a low profile, don't get drunk and I think you'll be just fine. I've been there dozen times. it's a lovely island.
If i was a betting man i'm guessing involvement with the big factions on the island, crime scene manipulated police bribed, real killers hidden or moved elsewhere in thailand ...need i say more...Purely speculation of course
Yep i was drugged by the DJ in the Suzy Wong bar in Phuket. He asked me what floor i was on in my hotel and i said the first floor and he was very disappointed. Don’t go to that country! Read Thailand : Deadly Destination by John Stapleton for the truth on the many deaths to foreigners that occur there.
I love Thailand and Koh Tao was my crush and most favorite island, which I have visited couple of times. Unfortunately after all this information coming out, I would never ever go there again. It seems there is mafia ruling over the police and country, nowhere safe to be anymore. I heard stories all round Thailand, not only from Koh Tao. It seems a human life has no much value there, especially outsiders.
everyone whether Thai, foreigners or Myanmar when asked if they believe the two Myanmar boys charged are guilty all proclaim absolutely not. They were made scapegoats.

Did you know that according to the statistics Phuket has the highest murder rate in Thailand? In comparison to Koh Tao, if the population would be equal, it is 5 times higher. How about them Apples?
The world is not like your home country. Just as you would expect people to adapt a little when visiting or staying in your country, you should do the same when visiting other countries. One of the big problems I've seen personally in Thailand, mostly on the islands of Samui, Phangan (my home) and Tao, is that visitors are just plain rude. Rudeness, or being rude to Thai people, in Thailand can put you in real danger, real quick. So if you intend on visiting - wise up: understanding the culture and how to be polite and respectful in a country you're visiting is really the minimum if you're expecting the same in return. This is where the problems start most of the time. I live on Phangan in a Thai community. Best place I've ever lived. I have an open space downstairs where there's all sorts of things that people could try and steal and not once have I ever had a problem with a Thai person here. Foreigners, yes. Nearly every day. But Thais, no. Thailand is a wonderous place and the islands in particular still have a magic about them that's been drained from most places in the Western world. Come, tread lightly, pay even just the minimum of respect to locals and you'll find a paradise unlost. Nice reporting Thaiger. I just wish this has made it's way into the past by now. It's nearly been a decade after all... :\
I feel the same. some time I go on a morning run on this small path by the beach, seeing all these empty beer bottles and trash every where just makes me sad.
@@terencebates6808 Of course it doesn’t. No one is suggesting that for one minute. I’m just giving my observations as someone who has lived next door to Koh Tao for many years. And maybe I know just a little more to the story than what’s reported. In fact, it’s the best unkept secret on the islands. Most people know who did it and why. And trust me, my point about respect and rudeness goes directly to the heart of how these things kick off. I didn’t make it that way. But that’s definitely the way it is. Take it or leave it. Sounds like you’re better off leaving it.
I still believe it was hype & myth creation, driven by other jealous authorities from other island & mainland jurisdictions. With convenient scape goats in two Burmese nationals. Koh Tao is a dive mecca with fabulous dive sites. Many dive operators from Samui etc. initially profited from Koh Tao's "Death Island" reputation. The real culprit/s left the island that night more than likely or is high in the food chain.
Then your brain cells are malfunctioning.21 deaths since 2014 under dodgy circumstances. The person believed to have done it slashed a man's throat in 2020. The only myth creation is from the police on this island

I just returned from 5 wonderful weeks on Koh Tao. I didn't feel unsafe for one second. Sadly, some of the expats that live and work there talk about how this old story is still hurting business. Though the tragedy of loss for these families is timeless, I question the value of rehashing the story over and over again. (I guess it might sell books.)
@@faaf1234 No. Nobody killed anybody for quite some time. I was actually commenting on my feeling (perception, intuition) that happen to align with the people I met there and the experience I had. By your logic, if anybody died anywhere without obvious explainable, natural cause, it is dangerous. I don't buy it. I would much rather focus on the people LIVING there, and it being a happy and beautiful place.
That is a very strange comment. The vast majority of gun owners are not criminals, be they nationals or foreigners. I write as a foreigner living in USA.
@Charlotte McNair she was a dive instructor on a small tropical island, and decided to get an illegal firearm. What type of person does that? There's no shooting range on Koh Tao,it's completely dodgy. Her partner was arrested for armed robbery on Koh Samui too. She's a criminal, and hangs around with criminals.
If I was on thailand id own a gun. I'm an accountant not a criminal and I do archery I the UK. So does that make me a criminal. Your comment has no logic or critical thinking. There are dangerous places around the world and you are responsible for your own safety. Jumping to the conclusion that people that but guns are criminals is very strange.
It seems that you are advertising a book that is making profit from others distress. This book will in no way provide any answers for any of the parents involved, but will just add to the controversies surrounding cases. I believe the perceived 'help' she thinks she is giving is only adding to parents distress. She is no expert, particularly not a DNA expert. As I am the mother of David Miller who was murdered by the two Myanmar men on Koh Tao in 2014, I think I have a right to dispute Suzanne Buchanan's beliefs about this case. The DNA is sound, it was from semen, which cannot be countered. The Myanmar are guilty as proved in court. Social Media is to blame for causing others to think otherwise and Suzanne Buchanan used her position as sole writer and editor for Samui Times to spread rumour and speculation.
I am a legal practitioner in Perth, Western Australia. I do not believe that Sue M has any legal training whatsoever. I have 30 years of academic training and practical experience of “expert evidence” and the rules of evidence. I have also attended courts in Thailand and noted that Thai courts do not follow the same careful rules of evidence that are observed by Western courts. I could tell as early as July 2015 when senior Thai police officers stated that they had “lost” or “used up” the original mixed semen sample supposedly found on Hannah that the prosecution case would be dismissed in a Western court in the first moments of a trial upon a submission of “no case to answer.” This is because the so-called DNA evidence would be inadmissible. There were multiple other glaring defects with the DNA evidence. Indeed, Jane Taupin the Melbourne forensic scientist and internationally respected expert in the field told me that the “DNA evidence” that the prosecution presented was “meaningless.” The reasons are far too extensive to outline in this comment. However, one should have faith in the observations of an expert in forensic science and a senior legal practitioner rather than the mere assertions of a lay person leaving a non-expert comment here.
@@thailandjustice3017 You obviously do not understand DNA and are no expert. This is not the place to discuss DNA samples and where they were found. There is no doubt about the guilt of the Myanmar. And whoever you are hiding under the name "Thailand Justice' you have also helped to make the suffering of parents harder to bear after all we have been through.
@@steveaustin1984 I am not looking for peace, Steven. I just want to voice my concerns that under an umbrella of social justice there are those on social media who spread rumours and misinformation. They are not experts, but certainly are opinionated. They seem to think they do good, but they are just gossip mongers with nothing better to do with their lives . I just hope they take a long hard look at themselves. Thailand Justice, Suzanne Buchanan and even this page are all responsible for spreading gossip. Do you think this is morally ok?

If accepting, they will be in prison for only 4 to 5 years. Later, the interpreter said that the 2nd defendant had been arrested and spoke to the 2nd defendant by phone. The 2nd defendant said that he was beaten to death ----> No convincible evidence was shown in the court anyway.
Many murder cases in America link to the murderers from DNA found in rugs, cars, clothes, etc, after keeping the evidence for more than 20 years and reanalyze them because of the development of DNA technology. Why DNA found deep in vajayjay can't be used to link to the murderers?
Yeah great update on this topic mystery
Owned by one family who reputedly deliver the vote at elections.

Just bought the book. Thanks for your work.
Can I see autopsy and DNA of JonBenet Ramsey case?

Could you give me an example of that case?

Went very quiet eh
I lived Samui 1994 for 5-6 years, anyone who lives / lived there and gets on with everyone well knows the score on how to adapt to the Asian way of thinking and the minds of Thai men.
Thai Society has a very very violent dark side especially in the beach resorts and islands towards tourists , stich ups, rapes , etc etc it's just never reported
. I was told by a retired Millitary Thai friend of mine, prior to tourism , the land on the seafront was regarded as cheap worthless land with just coconuts, so land was given to the bad boys of the families, well now the bad boys control most things in Thai tourist places.
thais dont like bad publicity.
@Tawan Paradize they like rich ferangs ,to sell daughters to.
I really want to travel to ko toa but I'm scared to go solo I'll probably have to stick to koh phangan and other Thai islands
I think there are more people died from motobike accident than being murdered on KohTao for the past ten years. bad things just happen. Keep a low profile, don't get drunk and I think you'll be just fine. I've been there dozen times. it's a lovely island.
It's safe in groups. The killer only strikes loners.
Phangan is just as bad, but fairly safe if you're careful after dark.
I just returned from 5 weeks on Koh Tao, and found it to be a completely wonderful and magical place. I didn't feel unsafe in any way for one second.
Perfect safe island..do not worry at all. I've been there many times on my own and also with others.
If i was a betting man i'm guessing involvement with the big factions on the island, crime scene manipulated police bribed, real killers hidden or moved elsewhere in thailand ...need i say more...Purely speculation of course
Don't you think the same happened also in Phuket plenty of times?🤔.. I think so. This is the dark side of Thailand. Welcome

Why someone would go to a place called " the murder island"?
I love Thailand and Koh Tao was my crush and most favorite island, which I have visited couple of times. Unfortunately after all this information coming out, I would never ever go there again. It seems there is mafia ruling over the police and country, nowhere safe to be anymore. I heard stories all round Thailand, not only from Koh Tao. It seems a human life has no much value there, especially outsiders.
I thought thai is safe they always say Philippines is dangerous so that tourist will go to thier country clever thai people

if you a rude,,then murder is justified? Stupidest thing I've read all day. If your child was dead, you'd want answers.
I feel the same. some time I go on a morning run on this small path by the beach, seeing all these empty beer bottles and trash every where just makes me sad.
respect your rapist - is that your message ?
being 'rude' does not justify getting murdered.
Scooby-Doo
They dug up the deceased male's phone out the back of accused bungalow. They claim they found it on the beach days after the murder and that is the story they have stuck to till this day. Quite a coincidence given both accused where drunk and playing guitar 50 meters away from the crime scene that night and their semen were left at the crime scene. both guilty as sin.

It's fine unless you get murdered.
Your one of the lucky ones then
@@faaf1234 No. Nobody killed anybody for quite some time. I was actually commenting on my feeling (perception, intuition) that happen to align with the people I met there and the experience I had. By your logic, if anybody died anywhere without obvious explainable, natural cause, it is dangerous. I don't buy it.
You obviously didn't understand the comments about 'mixed samples', did you?
