Steve. I am sorry so many negative things are being said, They are yours to do with what you sent fit.. I am sure what ever you do with them your Mom would be happy and you probably have kept some if not that is ok .I am sure you have other things of her's to treasure most of all the memories and those to me are more valuable than anything. Just thought i would put a positive feedback for you. God Bless in what ever you do .Kathy from Kansas🥰
I loved your Mom so much and I made her bread pudding for New Year’s dinner. I would love to have one. She really touched my heart. Keep us posted what you decide
I miss her so much. I go back often to her YT posts over so many years. I am very thankful you keep the channel going and for your wonderful, encouraging, insightful content. Please do let us bid via Etsy or whatever way you decide. I somehow missed the prints when they were available and would love another chance.
I was fortunate enough to buy one when you were selling the prints! It's framed and hanging in my living room! Thank you so much. Your mom was a beautiful artist. ❤❤🙏. Absolutely do what you feel. Your mom would be proud whatever you decide!
I’m a lifelong career artist and I have grown kids. From an artist’s mother’s perspective… DO NOT FEEL BAD FOR LETTING MOST OF THEM GO! Keep your favorite or two and release the rest! We artists who love our kids would NEVER burden anyone, let alone our loved ones, with paintings we did out of sheer enjoyment or to pass the time. I am sure she would love it if almost all of them were passed along to those who were inspired by her, but if it is a burden to coordinate that then give a time and place in which people can come get them, and then take the rest to goodwill. Don’t let anyone guilt you into keeping any of them if you don’t want to. We artist mamas are not like that! And remember that she is in heaven and ALL her perspectives are in order now. She would laugh and scold you, saying, “Steven! Get rid of those things, son!” Be free ❤
I'd love to buy some more - I purchased one of the smaller prints of her home painting. I would absolutely love to buy the paintings she had on her bedroom wall.
So many have said what I think is a great idea. Follow your heart. Etsy was my first thought. I have two prints. Donating to the school for an auction is a great idea as well. Ms Phyllis would be proud. I too miss her and Mr. Bucky. God's continued blessings.
I understand. I had an artist in the family too. When she passed on some of her paintings were kept and some were sold. I think your mom would be honored to have some sold for the Christian school.
You have a great idea, Stephen! Ignore the negativity. I had to purge my deceased mom’s items. I kept what was sentimental, blessed a few family members, and a fire victim. The rest I said “adios.” Couldn’t keep it all. My place was becoming cluttered. I received negativity as well, but it fell on deaf ears. I had to do me. You do you too. Happy New Year to you, TRMR, and the rest of your family.
Oh wow!!! For some reason you and your mother popped into my mind an hour or so ago. Then...I see this wonderful video. I would love one if there is a way. Thank you for sharing this video.
Great idea to raise funds and move them on. I'm sure you have other things you all prefer to keep as mementoes. Nothing worse than being made to feeling guilty around things having to be kept just because they belonged to a loved one. 'Keep the memories and lose the stuff' - there is a book of that title that people can read if they get upset at your decision.
That's exactly how I feel, Rosey. Thank you. There are a few paintings that mean a great deal to me that I'm keeping. Gave one to the school, gave one to my son. I'd like to bless the school and whoever would like a painting.
I would love one of her paintings. She was such a dear woman and she bought me peace and happiness just watching her videos. Her passing was a blow. Please let me know what you decide.
Haven't thought about Phyllis in years but woke up with her on my mind this morning and your video popped up. I don't think shipping (in the U.S.) would be expensive at all. I'll start the bidding on the yellow house at $150. I've loved that painting since the first time I saw it in her house. Our house in Branchville looked so much like it.
I think Ms Phyllis would agree and like the auction idea or donating them directly to the school for them to auction off as a fundraiser. You will do the right thing, you always do - with a little help from above.
I think your idea is a good one. Personally, I would be interested in the house painting. I love it, and your mother meant a lot to me in a personal way.
I have the 3 flowers that hung in Renee's room hanging in my hall. They are just beautiful and I treasure them. I want to thank you once again for those and wish you the best in raising more money for the school.
I love her pictures of her dogs-how lovely you have them!! 💙 I think Etsy is fine-just unframe them. Do as your heart leads-your mom would be proud of your practicality.
I bought a couple of her prints. :) I love them, and just know somebody would love to have an original of hers. An auction to benefit the school is a fantastic idea.
It's wonderful that you're considering sharing your mother's paintings with others. Releasing them for others to enjoy is a beautiful way to honor her legacy. Hopefully, your donation to Westfield Academy will help provide their students with enriching activities or opportunities she would have been proud to support.🙂
Ahh Steve...there was a time when I would be jumping up and down, waving, saying me me me! This last year changed a lot in our lives and our house is full. We have no kids to pass things down to. I couldn't say for sure what would happen to it after we are gone. I have a couple of the prints, but I have something that for me is even more valuable. A thank you note written by her. That is worth gold to me. Something written by her hand. I am hoping Ann may reach out and want one. (I'm still hoping for an eventual cookbook) I want her paintings to be treasured! Not to mention I have two almost life size paintings in my Mother's house done by my step Grandmother. One of myself (in which she added hair that I didn't have) and one of my Mother. No idea what I'll be doing with those once I have to let that house go. I feel sure all of her paintings will find good homes and be cherished. That's the comment!
I love the auction idea. I would love to be able to bid on one of your Mom’s original paintings. Please let us know what you decide. Thank you Colonel.
I bought a few of the prints / paintings a few years ago - I think they were selling on Etsy - I can't recall - but, I would not mind purchasing some - I will look to see updates where you will be maybe selling them -whether it be on Etsy or e-bay or another venue
If the school has fundraisers, donate the art to them and let them sell them (or display them--she's a benefactor of the school). It would be better to sell them framed at a local event than have to worry about disassembling and shipping each one. Custom framing is expensive, too. Wow, five years now!
I sure do miss your mother's videos and her adventures. I do see where you're coming from they were going to sell the house and moved to a trailer. Enjoy making new memories as you celebrate 2025 journey
I haven't read others comments, but I agree with you someone would be thrilled to own them. Your mom would be so proud that any money raised would go to the school.
Take a picture of those your going to sell and put it in an album. I did this with my grown children school art. I kept something’s and others I took a picture and put it in a scrapbook. After 12 years of school I had thousands of their drawings, writing, mother day cards etc
Steve, I think it would be a wonderful idea for you to sell the paintings and give the proceeds to the school, or give them to the school to sell. Phyllis would be delighted, as she was so interested in supporting them.
Maybe donate them to a school.or church or a nursing home that needs to decorate. Somewhere that knew her and her husband nearby so you wouldnt have to take them far and no shipping.Pray about it and God will direct your path. Thank you for all You do for us viewers and the world with your service. God bless your family and God bless America.Im from Columbia but I live in Georgia now. ❤from Melanie
Hiya Steve! Don’t doubt yourself, you are doing the right thing! I’m sure there will be people who loved your Mom who would love one of her precious paintings! She sure had a gift to paint! Have a happy, peaceful, safe, healthy new year Ritter family! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I do miss your Mom. My Mom passed in September 2023. She loved your Mom so much. We made a lot of her recipes. I didn't know your Mom was a painter. I would love to see all her work. Just make some videos of her work. We can see them and decide if we want one. Thanks for keeping your Mom's memory alive. You are a great Son. ❤🙏
I think it would be a noble idea to spread her work around among the folks who appreciate her contributions on YT. I would certainly bid on and treasure any that I could. I hope you can do that, Steve.
I watched her paint the ones that she put on her bedroom wall. I believe there are 3 of them. Also…my opinion is to do put them on Etsy. Let the group here know when and under what name and then let them bid to buy. I don’t think that’s a bad thing to do. I see it as a good thing, allowing her subscribers who remember her and would really like to have one, to get one. Barbara.
Hello Steve! Enjoy watching all your videos on "Kerfuffleing With The Colonel!" Wish I had a Giant Bowl of your "Le Madeleine Potato Soup" while reading the Comments. Some lessons I have learned is "Chickens do Cackle" and "People should not Uneccesarily Get Their Britches tied Up In A Bunch". MAY YOU AND YOUR FAMILY HAVE A BLESSED NEW YEAR!
Oh, my. People on here are certainly showing who their father is. Your mother would be ashamed of them & their judgmental, hateful attitudes. We can't hang onto everything our parents owned. I think auctioning off her work is a wonderful way to share your mom's talent & honor the school that meant so much to her. Gosh, Steve, just ignore the evil people commenting. Be glad to see them go.
It's a great gesture to make her work available. Is there a way to see them for more than a second and with a camera moving up and down, lol. I saw talent from the brief look. My kids aren't going to know what to do with my originals. Such is life. People don't know what to do, in the end, with our loved one's stuff. It's sweet of you to try with your Mom's originals.
Do you have other pieces of her work that you are keeping? I can understand the need to find proper homes for those that need them. I am sure people who loved her will express a desire for the originals. She was an original. A stranger that touched my heart, a kindred soul i guess. I am sorry for your loss.
I would allow my children to select their favorite prior to any sale. My mother is an artist, and I've already selected mine that I would treasure. Blessings to you and your family.
I'm not old, but I paint. Even I don't want to keep all of my paintings. I'm generally happy to give them away or sell them to others who want them. Please do not feel bad about what you're doing
Hi Col. Stephen, I love the 3 oil pastels of my great grandma that I escaped the Wildfire with! If your family doesn't want Phyllis', how about a One Woman show at her church where they would be offered for sale? No shipping, nice viewing opportunity, and "one and done". The Lord will guide you! In His Love, JJ & Ruthie💕🐕🦺😊🙏✝️
I would love one! I miss your mother, she was my favorite to watch for delicious recipes. I always regretted missing buying a print, something nice to remember her to hang in the kitchen. I'm very interested. I'm open to whatever. It would be a nice way to honor and remember her. God works in mysterious ways, I was just thinking about the regret I had not ordering a print. But, I had cancer and it was financially impossible at that point for me to do anything but survive.
I just want to say that anyone who got to know your mother by watching her videos for years would know that she would be delighted to see you pass these paintings along to anyone who wishes to have them and she would be thrilled to see that benefit the school she loved. Pay no mind to the foolish nonsense being spoken by those who choose to sit in judgment. Youre a wonderful man Steve and may God bless you in all that you do 🌹💚🌹💚🌹💚🌹
wow it really doesn't seem that it's been that long ago 💔 man I miss your mom, Mr Bucky & the dogs too I remember her paintings most of them & seeing them in the walls when she did the tour of the house when they were thinking of selling it 😞 I'm really surprised the Bella or one of the boys don't want their grandmothers art for like a heirloom or something to pass down to the following generations but I guess people don't really do stuff like that anymore.... with I had extra money I'd love to have a few especially the house one I've always loved that one 💖
I think putting them on Etsy and setting a price would be a good start. If some of them by chance got less attention you could always lower the price. Make sure you put in the listing if it’s the allows not sure on that that the money is going to charity/school. Hope it turns out well don’t listen to the negative people there’s always somebody..
Hopefully, you can find people who would enjoy your moms prints. My kids don't want a lot of things that are (or have been) sentimental to me or even antiques and that's ok with me. It's actually freeing getting rid of "things". Blessings to you and your family in this new year.
It is strange but this holiday I thought about your mother and her channel. Sharing recipes with us. I wonder if who brought her house is as happy in it as she was. You cannot keep everything. I agree if someone would enjoy them then let them go. They do not belong in a closet, and I think your mother would love that others would want them. I pray you have a Blessed year and your family. You were a good son for her, and she always spoke highly and proudly of you. It is ok to let things go. Hard and time has probably helped. You have pictures of them and can remember them if needed. Good to see you pop up here. Haven't seen your channel for a while. Peace!
They would be worth the price of shipping besides the pictures! Nothing wrong with downsizing! I would love one! Other people would probably outbid me if I entered. I don’t have an Etsy account though. Oh well I’ll enjoy that other people will get to enjoy them!
You need to save them for your grandchildren. My aunt was an artist in New Orleans in the 60s. I am buying her paintings, that I can afford, when I find them on ebay.
Keep them in the family as Family Heirlooms. Your great great grandchildren will appreciate having a precious painting from their grandmother. Don’t get rid of them. You’re mother put time in to those.
Ohhh my goodness I surely miss your mom. Would Love her painting of her house…however….. I’m a senior in years myself and trying to get rid of things. It’s very hard when you have valuable pieces. What would you sell the house picture for?
I'm sure somebody would love to buy them. Giving the money to the school is a good idea. I saw 2 that I'd love to buy, the farm. Girl and the one like a sea scape. I'd gladly pay the price to ship them. I'm in Georgia. I would rather have them somebodys wall rather than gathering dust in a closet. I understand. I'm sure you kept what you and your family wanted. Nothing wrong in wanting to sell the rest, give the money to a good cause. take care. Have a Happy and Blessed New Year. ✌️🕯️🙏. Vee and family.🙂👋.
That’s great Idea,Steve your mom would be proud
Steve. I am sorry so many negative things are being said, They are yours to do with what you sent fit.. You are a blessing, Kathy. Thank you!
You’re a smart man, with a beautiful heart and beautiful family, follow your heart… all will be well 🙏
I loved your Mom so much and I made her bread pudding for New Year’s dinner. I would love to have one. She really touched my heart. Keep us posted what you decide
I think it’s a wonderful idea to rehome them, I loved your mom’s video’s so much. You have done a very good job of honoring her.
Steve, these are priceless. I could never imagine selling my mothers art. I wish you well with this venture.
Do as you feel. It's not someone else's decision, but yours.
I miss her so much. I go back often to her YT posts over so many years. I am very thankful you keep the channel going and for your wonderful, encouraging, insightful content. Let them go, keep them moving in the universe! People will enjoy them, and pass these sweet paintings on to the next home!
I bought one of the prints. I love it. I loved your mom.
I would love to have one
Good idea. She would be pleased.
hurt.
The money would go to the school, keep that in mind.
Thanks. I think so, too.
Move on! You have your memories!
Do whatever you want to do. No judgement. Blessings
Love the home picture
WOW! I did not know your mom painted. Those look great!!

I’m glad you like her work!
I watched all your Moms videos. I think she would be tickled to know people purchased her Art. Hugs from Canada
Thank you! I think she would be, too.

Yellow house painting is my favorite.

Sounds great!!! I would love to have one she did herself, I will keep watching, also any word on the cookbook? love all of this...

I love the yellow house painting . I think it is so nice of you to offer the paintings to your mother’s friends.
Enjoyed watching your mother on the channel, yours to do as you please. God’s blessings this New Year.
Thank you so much!
I love her pictures of her dogs-how lovely you have them!! 💙
I think Etsy is fine-just unframe them. Do as your heart leads-your mom would be proud of your practicality.
Miss Phyllis was such a practical and logical person. She would fully support your decision Steve.
I so miss your mom and Bucky and the dogs😢
I love the auction idea. I would love to be able to bid on one of your Mom’s original paintings. Please let us know what you decide. Thank you Colonel.
You could donate them to a local museum or senior living community.
Would love to have one, loved your mom
I bought a few of the prints / paintings a few years ago - I think they were selling on Etsy - I can't recall - but, I would not mind purchasing some - I will look to see updates where you will be maybe selling them -whether it be on Etsy or e-bay or another venue
Me too!
I'll let you know! Thanks.
If the school has fundraisers, donate the art to them and let them sell them (or display them--she's a benefactor of the school). It would be better to sell them framed at a local event than have to worry about disassembling and shipping each one. Custom framing is expensive, too. Wow, five years now!
I loved your mom and continue to watch her videos faithfully. I would be honored to own one of her paintings and would be happy to bid on one.
I sure do miss your mother's videos and her adventures. I do see where you're coming from they were going to sell the house and moved to a trailer. Enjoy making new memories as you celebrate 2025 journey
I miss her too. Thank you for your kind words.

I love the Home picture, but I don’t think we can afford it though right after Christmas.
I think an auction is a wonderful idea! I would love to possibly have one !
I love the trio that were in her bedroom. Those spoke to me!I I would pay the shipping so everything is intact.

I understand where you are coming from. I had bought a print of the poodle, it hangs on my bedroom wall . 💜

Give the school one and the rights to make prints.
I’m interested in the house painting or the bowl painting
Has the town where she lived got a museum or a church she attended? It would be nice, since she was very well known, to donate them for posterity.
Hi Steve !
Are any more of your moms paintings available for sale ?
Great idea! Auction to raise
Money for the school.
I hope it works!
You need to save them for your grandchildren. My aunt was an artist in New Orleans in the 60s. I am buying her paintings, that I can afford, when I find them on ebay.
Online auction to benefit the church school? Or just donate the paintings to the church.
Nossa amo esse tipo de trabalho ❤❤❤se eu pena q moro no Japão, se fosse minha mãe, eu colocaria tdo em uma sala um ateliê em casa 👍👍
Keep them in the family as Family Heirlooms. Your great great grandchildren will appreciate having a precious painting from their grandmother. Don’t get rid of them. You’re mother put time in to those.
I've kept a few of the ones with real stories and emotional significance. Not all of them are the same.
Ohhh my goodness I surely miss your mom. Would Love her painting of her house…however….. I’m a senior in years myself and trying to get rid of things. It’s very hard when you have valuable pieces. What would you sell the house picture for?
Just take a small nook somewhere and make a mama memory wall maybe?
Auction them off Stephen. Great idea.
Your children don't want them or Renees family???
Can you link the Etsy shop plz?
I'll have more info soon. Still working out a plan.
My hand is raised for purchasing one or some of them…not by auction tho…
Does she have grandkiddos that would appreciate having one each...take their pick THEN sell the rest???
Sell the ones that you aren't using. I'm sure that people would love to bid in them! ❤
Your children didn't want any of them? 💛
