Ford didnt build "this" Jeep. There are many differences between the Ford GPW and Willys MB, the chassis are totally different. As the war progressed they got more and more similar with bodies made by ACM but all along the parts were pretty much interchangeable. Ford even marked their bolts with an "F" code so they could not be confused with Willys parts. Check out "F stamped Jeep parts" on Google, it's a minefield.
@@NigelsModellingBench thanks for that.. Wikipedia strikes again :) although Inbeard it said many times before.. many urban myth comes in to effect with that Thanks for popping onto my channel my friend
I wonder about the practicality of mounting the spare wheel up front, which I've never seen before. ( alternate mount was passenger side, interfering with passenger egress) Obstructing the radiator seems like a bad idea.
like your self i believe this kit should be a level 2 i bought mine at Lidl it was a starter kit i enjoyed making the jeep but you need tweezers 😃loved the review
Also got this from Lidl, and agree that it would be hard, if not impossible to complete with the no decent snips, tweezers etc, didn't here if you mentioned it but kit also has a different bonnet, mount and pair of Lewis guns, that are mentioned nowhere in the instructions, so gives a third alternative of making a LDPG version if you want
Weird how this kit comes with a 75mm of 18.4 calibres Pack Howitzer M1/ m116. and not an Ordnance QF 6 pdr/ 57mm gun of 43-50 calibre as advertised. on the box. Odd as Airfix does an Ordnance QF 6 pdr/ 57mm gun of 43-50 calibre paired with a different vehicles
@@MOS6510Models LoL But that is risky, when so many scale-model makers (especially builders of land vehicles) are rivet-counters. I mean I build and paint models to "the rule of cool" I am in no way a rivet-counter, history and authenticity can be damned. I knew it was not a UK 6 pdr AT gun as of no gunshield and a short barrel. I knew it was an m1
Never knew that ford built this Jeep!!
i didn't know either lol

Ford's version was also known as the Ford Mutt M151.
Agreed. Not a skill 1 kit. Nice to see a kit with a canopy up option. Only wish the larger scale manufacturers would do likewise.
Just note that the trailer is a US army one, british airborne had their own type of trailer...
Nice review anyway, regards
Ah thats does make sense. Thank you @laurentpremel for leaving a comment. Please subscribe if you haven't as yet.. It really helps the channel grow.
nice weekit and chat about the kit, wish Airfix`s kit of the same vehicle in the Buffalo kit was like this?
Thank you Colin Jarvie for leaving a comment. Please subscribe if you haven't as yet.. It really helps the channel grow.
