Apart from the advert sections, it boggles my mind how work-intense rice growing is. So much manual labor - thank you farmers so much for doing it, I wouldn't survive a single day of this work.

I find this video very nice, informative and relevant to me as a BSAg student, it can help a lot to learn about rice crop practices, from land preparation, planting, fertilization, weed management, pest and disease management, water management, to harvesting the information was complete.
Additionally, the flooded plains can also be used for growing water animals (such as duck) or aquaculture (small fish). In case of duck, it provides an additional income with largely no losses (though a small loss in crop yield may occur), a natural pesticide killer and soil enchancer. Aquacultures are more tricky, but the point of the comment is that rice farmers may effectively use their lands not solely for rice production. I am living nowhere near where rice is usually grown, so correct me if I am wrong.

Thank you so much farmer. I just came back from Baguio and during our commute back to Manila we passed by ricefields. That made me curious on how it was processed. I know it was a hard intensive labor but wow it made me realize how intensive the whole process is and imagine going through all that work for months, only to be destroyed by one typhoon in a few hours. 😢 Again my hearfelt gratitude to all farmers our there. vze1lat7 There will be mate. I’m working on a small scale project right now. Exactly 7 days ago, I introduced rice seeds to the grow media. They are at the moment about 1dm high. The roots have the same length. I don’t do this to make money. I do this experiment to see if there is a way to improve the harvest even in dry areas, to spread the knowledge around the world (if I succeed).
@@usmanabdullahi1893 Thanx for asking. Partial success I would say😐. I had to abort my “mission” after successfully growing seedlings😞. If you are genuinely interested to continue, I would be more than happy to share my experience to that moment of growth with you. I’m not looking for solutions that make me rich, I’m looking for solutions so people can put food on their table. Many parts in the world have not enough water, and rice (farmed traditionally) wastes a lot of water.
I love learning how to grow food! Our government never taught us how to grow any food. It should be mandatory for everyone to learn how instead of depend on the government for it
no. there are jobs like being a doctor that depend on doctors doing doctor stuff for 18 hours straight. food growing should only be for the few that don't want to do important things like being a doctor. yes, i'm a doctor. but i only have a phd in destruction. and yes, food is needed to live. farmers are extremely important as well.

Hello sir. May I ask to use some of your clips in this video (not entirely) just 10 secods maybe to portray the struggles of farmers here in the Philippines? The price of crops here had declined down 12 pesos per kilo of palay.
Do you know anyone who is capable of running and managing a rice field such as the one shown in this video. If so, would they be interested for great compensation to move to Africa?

We are damn outdated in farming. The Department of Agriculture is just sitting on their job. They have no idea how to optimize the technique on rice farming.
For as long as you promote manual labor to prepare, plant, and harvest rice the Philippines will forever be behind most of the ASEAN countries. Always importing because Filipinos have a very insatiable hunger for rice, one of the main culprits of diabetes in the country.
Ancient farmers in Cambodia grew rice for centuries without manmade fertilizer manufactures. The natural fertilizer are fishes and creature that live in the water, and cow manures.
