We’re so lucky to be in a faith that allows us to speak to god from the heart ❤️, in some religions it is actually blasphemous to even utter his name. In others he is far removed and only submission can lead to mercy… In others yet only indifference to self leads to “enlightenment”. Our love is so poor compared to his, we can only be the mirror of it. Let your love shine upon us lord, such is my prayer.

0 seconds ago The main thought to keep in mind is that God is very understanding, and generous!! He understands our frailty, He understands that even though our minds have the tendency to wonder off, as long as we keep trying to keep the concentration in our meditation in Him, is good enough for Him. He just wants us to understand that we need of Him. We need of Him for everything. And when we “humble”ourselves by acknowledging and complaining to Him of our weaknesses, He can’t help Himself from showering the soul with many graces. This small act of ours is very pleasing to God. He can’t help Himself, He has the burning desire to unload the necessary graces we need to advance in our spiritual life. There are only 2 ways in which He can deliver His gifts to the soul. 1. Trust 2. Humility. Without these two things, His hands are tied.

I enjoy listening to you. I have trouble connecting with God and I think I will try your suggestions. I think this info will change my prayer life. Thanks Fr CJ
Hello. I'm learning about Catholicism, and I have a question if you'd be so kind as to share your insight. What is the "correct" form of prayer? When I used to be religious, I used to pray to God constantly. It was almost as common as my own inner monologue, like, "God, what do you think about this? I have this thought--what do you think about it?" I'd thank Him constantly, reflect on my love for Him, ask for guidance and wisdom, or just talk to Him about my life like a good friend. I had a very personal connection with Him because I felt His presence at all times, and I wouldn't expect clear answers, but I'd be constantly seeking them, and I frequently used meditation to focus and become more receptive of Him. Sometimes I'd kneel and fold my hands in reverence, rarely because I was obliged to but usually because I felt sincerely compelled to in my heart. Was my technique somehow wrong? Christians, and I think especially Catholics, make it sound very formal and include a lot of strict ritual, which also sounds more impersonal to me. You even mention asking God for help to pray as if you are incapable of doing it right on your own. What does that mean?
The old testament mentions the word meditate or meditation many times. The new testament also mentions the word meditate . I have also read From the very old KJV Holy Bible with Apocrypha. The word meditate or meditation is also mentioned in the apocryphal. This proves that meditation is also for Christian. Its not only for other religions.
I write horror novels that weave in powerful religious themes. God and His saints are a very real presence in them. There’s a meditative aspect when writing those particular scenes because my imagination is engaged in integrating God into them. For instance, the main character in one book, a young orphan girl, thinks God has abandoned her. A priest friend assures her that this is impossible and suggests she ask Him for a sign. She develops a devotion to St. Therese, and at a particularly trying moment, sees a shower of blossoms drifting down from the sky.
An idea: start with the basic prayers we've all learned. Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be. Think of the words, what they mean. It will help you with praying the rosary too .
I love your talks and really benefit from them. My only suggestion is that you get rid of the music at the start of your videos, I hate it, it's not appealing or spiritual.
Hi Fiona, thanks for your question. According to the US bishops: “Seventy-three Psalms are attributed to David, but there is no sure way of dating any Psalm. Some are preexilic (before 587), and others are postexilic (after 539), but not as late as the Maccabean period (ca. 165).” David was from Bethlehem in Israel.
I am looking forward to this video. There are some pseudo meditation methods taught by some priest like Fr Lawrence Freeman who has some elements of Buddhist meditation infused in his meditation techniques but he calls them Christian meditation . Fr Robert Kennedy SJ has gone rogue and gone into Dharma Zen whist still retaining his collar. As Christians we need to be careful of these meditation methods. I am speaking as an ex Buddhist, now a convert into Catholicism.
@@ctmcatholic Thank you for your kind words. I would be grateful if you can cover the purpose of meditation. If its to clear the mind to listen to God's silent prompting, I like to ask - in my and my friends' own personal experience of God, if He wants to talk to us, it can be anywhere and anytime and regardless of whether you are spiritually ready or cleansed . (BTW just to clarify I am Charismatic and don't speak jn tongues). But I also recognise the need to clear the earthly distractions to experience the God's presence.
@@jeremiahong248 You may find Father touches on that a little in this video, but all the same please let us know what you think and we're always open to topic suggestions!
@@ctmcatholic Thanks for your reply! I would be grateful if Father can consider doing a video on Liberation Theology. A Jesuit priest David Inczauskis SJ, wrote on 4 Jun 21 in their America Jesuit Review that he can't be a Catholic without liberation theology. Pope JP2 has banned LT and it looks like its coming back. Jesus's Good News is sufficient. There is no need to adulterate it for any other cause or fight. Whilst it is important to empathise the poor, it is wrong to twist Catholicsm and adulterated it with Marxist ideas. The following is taken from the America Jesuit Review 4 Jun 21 Once I discovered liberation theology, I couldn’t be Catholic without it David Inczauskis SJ June 04, 2021 As a college student in 2011, I was searching for a faith as radical as the Gospel I was reading. I found it in the rural town of Chiantla in Huehuetenango, Guatemala, where I had gone to research human rights abuses against women and children. In Chiantla, a group of committed campesinos were organizing youth, women and indigenous communities on the weekdays. They were canvassing for the leftist National Revolutionary Unity party on Saturdays. And they were going to Mass on Sundays. I had never before witnessed this seamless integration of faith and revolutionary political struggle that these people knew as “liberation theology.” But having seen it, I knew that I could no longer be a Catholic without it.
@@jeremiahong248 David Inczauskis SJ possibly should read what Dorothy Day had to say on the subject of the poor and oppressed. She was an amazing woman, living the Gospel (with emphasis on living, not just talking) as a Benedictine Oblate and a 100% non-violent member of the Catholic Church.
Kneeling is a wonderful gesture if you can do it, and sometimes we’re called to be uncomfortable and offer it up - but ultimately God wants us to connect with Him and if kneeling is getting in the way of that definitely go back to sitting! God bless, Katie

I’m a bit confused if this practice is in accordance with our Catholic Church. Thank you in advance for your help. God Bless you 🙏❤️🔥🕊

That’s a good question. I’ve heard of this but never done it.
I enjoy listening to you. I have trouble connecting with God and I think I will try your suggestions. I think this info will change my prayer life. Thanks Fr CJ
Praise God, Anita. Great to hear that this might help you. Sorry to hear you’ve had trouble connecting, you will be in our prayers.
thanks Father. I sure do need prayers right now. God bless you!@@ctmcatholic
Please be reminded that you have them, Anita! God bless you.
Anita, please be reminded that you are in our prayers! God bless you.
Hi:) Did you ever get an answer to this question?
The old testament mentions the word meditate or meditation many times. The new testament also mentions the word meditate . I have also read From the very old KJV Holy Bible with Apocrypha. The word meditate or meditation is also mentioned in the apocryphal. This proves that meditation is also for Christian. Its not only for other religions.
Absolutely, Kudumo. Thank you for your comment! Have a blessed Holy Week.
May Catholics practice transcendental meditation?
An idea: start with the basic prayers we've all learned. Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be.
Think of the words, what they mean. It will help you with praying the rosary too .
I love your talks and really benefit from them. My only suggestion is that you get rid of the music at the start of your videos, I hate it, it's not appealing or spiritual.
We get a lot of messages from people who love the music.
@@ctmcatholic Interesting.
1.1k person to like! 😊
👏👏
@@ctmcatholic Love the video! Very informative, plz pray for me. Appreciate everything you guys are doing
If you meditate on the psalms...were they written by the Egyptians. Where do they come from...hope it's ok to ask this.
Hi Fiona, thanks for your question. According to the US bishops: “Seventy-three Psalms are attributed to David, but there is no sure way of dating any Psalm. Some are preexilic (before 587), and others are postexilic (after 539), but not as late as the Maccabean period (ca. 165).”
David was from Bethlehem in Israel.
Father, I have a question. Is there any position you recommend for this meditation? Thank you for this 🙏🏼
Nope. Anything that’s comfortable.
Thank you so much for your insight. We look forward to hearing what you think about this video!
The following is taken from the America Jesuit Review 4 Jun 21
Once I discovered liberation theology, I couldn’t be Catholic without it
David Inczauskis SJ June 04, 2021
As a college student in 2011, I was searching for a faith as radical as the Gospel I was reading.
What,Father, made you choose the name of Colum Cille?
Good question. We'll ask Fr Columba and get back to you.
I did hear that yoga (just physical practice) is against the Catholic belief. Is this true?
Thanks for your comment, Lilian. Catholic Answers addresses this topic in detail: www.catholic.com/magazine/print-edition/the-trouble-with-yoga

Look up The World Community for Christian Meditation.
Are you always kneeling? Can I sit? I don't want to be irreverent...
Kneeling is a wonderful gesture if you can do it, and sometimes we’re called to be uncomfortable and offer it up - but ultimately God wants us to connect with Him and if kneeling is getting in the way of that definitely go back to sitting! God bless, Katie
