How to STOP Your Bike Rack from WOBBLING!

  • Want to stop your bike rack from swaying on your hitch? Install a hitch clamp and keep the bikes from bouncing back and forth down the road! This will work for 1 1/4 inch and 2 inch hitch receivers. I’ve used it on a class 1 hitch on our 2 door commuter car, the class 4 hitch on our pickup truck and a minivan in between. In addition to the bike rack I have also used this to tighten down the wobble of our hitch mounted cargo carrier basket! ↘️↘️Click “SHOW MORE” below to open the full video description! ↙️↙️

I'm OK with going 11 miles on side streets to my favorite trail. With this inexpensive tightener, I can feel safe taking my bike on the bike rack on long drives - Texas to New Orleans - to recreate rides I did as a kid. THANK YOU !!!!!

Another similar issue to avoid is a mismatch between your bike rack and hitch receiver. For example a 1.25” bike rack in a 2” hitch receiver and if that’s your case buy the correct adapter instead or in addition to a hitch tightener / stabilizer.

    • @GanderFlight

I was very nervous putting my brand new beach cruiser on this rack. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxG6JIgwJhur8_Rg8UeQ3EmePzi_wSncL8 But after reading many reviews I decided to get this one and take a chance. When arrived it was very simple to adjust and put together. I also added spike tape over the metal hooks before securing and tightening the straps, and no scratches. I also purchased the top bar made by the same company so that my cruiser sits straight on the rack without having to turn upside down. Extra bungee cords are used to secure the front wheel from flapping and even piece of mind knowing your bike is secure. Definitely recommend...
