  • Norwegian Joy Haven Suite 17100.
Sailed October 22-29 from NY to Bermuda. This was our first time in a Haven Suite. Category H5. This room was terrific!! Please feel free to ask any questions about it!
This room was located in the Haven proper. On Floor 17, close to the observation lounge, pool & everything else. Our steward was great & our butler, Willie was great too.
The room had a main salon and 2 bedrooms. Master on suite bath was amazing. We loved the shower. The king size bed was showing it's age with a hump in the middle which made for uncomfortable sleeping. We asked our steward to fix it and they added a feather bed, which made a huge difference. The second bedroom had a bed and it's own bath, typical style of a room outside the Haven and was sufficient for my brother. Word of caution, the balcony extends in front of the master bath, so there is a possibility of one of your guests or family members seeing into the shower. Every day we were suprised with little snacks, fruits, tea sandwiches, sweets & other goodies. If you are wondering if you should upgrade, do it! We will never go back to any rooms outside the Haven ever again after this amazing experience. The Haven Restaurant was spectacular. Same menu each day, but we picked our favorites and still had an opportunity to try other dishes. Again, if you have specific questions, please let me know.

Was the bed in the 2nd bedroom as comfortable as the regular cabin beds- say for example the regular bed you'd find in an inside cabin?

Thank you! Did you request lounge chairs for the balcony?

First time on NCL. Just upgraded from HI to this H5 stateroom. I hear that NCL tends to "nickel and dime" folks, please tell me that isn't' the case at this level of travel...do you recall how many water boxes are in the room upon arrival (or did you pre-order more?) Do you have any ship/Haven specific "insider/expert" tips to share!?! Thank you.

I believe there were 2, but I don't recall having any issue with needing water throughout the trip. The proximity of this cabin 17100 to the observation lounge is sooooo convenient that you have food & water, coffee & tea right outside your door essentially thoughout the trip and every day you'll have snacks delievered fresh to your room (you can contact the concierge closer to your departure date and you can give them a list of your favorite snacks. We asked for a pitcher of water each day they put in our fridge which was very clean and i preferred it over the boxed water) (i'm particular with how water tastes and this was just fine--and no extra cost!--bring your favorite reusable drinking container and you'll be great) Don't bother with specialty restaurants. The haven restaurant is all you need. Of course there are ways in which you can spend and spend, but you don't have to in the Haven. It's a ship within a ship experience. Just make sure you bring adequate cash for tipping the people who go over and beyond in service to you. They don't require it, but they appreciate every extra penny they can send home to their families. We are booked in the Haven Oct 2024 on the Encore to Alaska and we won't be booking and specialty restaurants because we loved the Haven Restaurant so much -Breakfast Lunch Dinner. And of course, snacks in the room and observation lounge!!
Just remember, there are always little here and there charges, but when you are in the Haven, there is sooooo much more you get, it's absolutely worth it. Hope that helps. That's just off the top of my head, so if you have specific questions, just fire away, I'll help where I can. I've only ever cruised with NCL

I have sailed all 4 mass market lines over 20 years of cruising. I have found that they all "nickel and dime you." LOL. Oh and the tap water is some of the cleanest you'll ever find. They use reverse osmosis filtration technology...which makes it cleaner than most spring water even :) We just bring our Yetis and fill up with the pitcher of ice water from our butler or from the bar or buffet (if we go there - which is rare because the Haven Restaurant is awesome!)

Do both sofas pull out to beds?

The 2nd bedroom bed does. The sofa in living area can be made up by your steward as a single bed if you ask. (Which we did)
