I forget which system Batman Arkham Asylum originally came out on, (360 maybe), but when the fear toxin glitch happened to me the first time I remember getting soo heated thinking my platform crashed. I was PISSED!

Worst/BEST 600 bucks I spent that year. Kept showing up at the store PISSED AF and they'd be like "Another one blew up?!" I'm like "Yup, gimme a new one. Here's my warranty papers." I think my first one blew up within the first week tbh. Needless to say I've been a Playstation user ever since.

I kind of wish they didn't go with the evil Batman route. I thought they were setting up something with darker takes on Arkham villains, especially with Joker not being human. The idea of the Batman we know fighting beings beyond the natural without the inherent "he'll always win and things won't be too brutal" that comes with comics Also with the King in Yellow, it's possible that's Parallax from Green Lantern, the entity of the yellow lanterns that embodies fear
At least there's a reason for it. Based on the newest Arkham Tape it seems like Batman was possessed by the demon controlling Ras Al Ghul after the former's death.

I kinda love how this series is continuous in the idea in dark time lines that the Riddler would try do something evil and messed it up entirely. Like seeking ultimate knowledge he would obviously mess it up slightly and completely paralyzed himself. A big Nygma move.
Oh yeah I watch this guys videos a few years ago. He mostly makes videos about what the Batman mythos would be like in a realistic 1900s setting. Season 1 is 1919-39. These are an extension of that I guess.

There's one major oversight in this video, there's a compilation of the first "season" (everything up to the Riddler tape) that ends with bonus audio of Strange talking about Arkham Asylum being closed after the events of the seventh tape and that Jeremiah Arkham plans on turning his old family home into a new facility, Arkham Manor, which we can see is where the Riddler interview takes place.
I think both are good. I personally prefer this one since it's basically "the Batman villains as viewed by the average human" vs an evil Batman story, and I personally like those types of stories more. But they both do something extremely different, and it really just comes down to personal preference

If you think about it Arkham asylum is a horror movie in itself. Imagine what happened to the people who worked at Arkham when the joker released everyone in the Arkham asylum game. Terrifying

I went into this expecting a deep dive and analysis of all the character tape interviews from Arkham Asylum, City, Knight, etc, but was pleasantly surprised with what I got. This is amazing stuff.
Following the series myself. Getting real "Doom that Came to Gotham" vibes from the series, combined with a bit of Red Mist (Batman embracing a monstrous transformation and turning into a killer).
With how the other Batman series fumbled the bag in my opinion (granted, the other one is definitely based loosely on the Batman who laughs, which is a character I dislike). This one feels like it actually understands what makes Batman interesting.
I wouldn’t say it’s based on the Batman Who Laughs at all except just the concept of evil Batman seems more like just based off of Vampire Batman but the series seems to be hinting at him using some drugs to fuel his powers either way I agree the other one just isn’t that good and while I prefer this one it misses the mark on some things like making Batman twisted as well because the idea of Batman facing these horrific versions of his typical villains seemed really cool
It's from the graphic novel _Arkham: A Serious House on Serious Earth_ , which is, as far as I know, still THE definitive Arkham Asylum story. All the art is that level of stylized; the Joker doesn't even have dialogue bubbles, his words are just written in bright red words directly on the page.

I also have to draw Batman’s Rogue’s gallery designs (probably draw the Arkham Tapes design cuz their designs seem fitting for a horror game) and draw weapons or items the villains or main character uses (like a flashlight for the main character to check the cell room’s). I also have to draw jumpscare’s and scenes. I have to also write down quotes, and room names. Sorry if this is so much info.

The only thing I'm really not a fan of, because I never finished the video, is the apparent need to corrupt Batman. There's enough horror elements in the Batman universe that you don't need to change and ruin Bruce Wayne. I feel like it's important for most horror to have a counter to it. It's why we have survivors and even victors in horror movies. Batman should be out there a force to counter the evil. But that still means that the evil needs to be stopped. The canon Joker has how many kills before Batman stops them? Killer Croc has eaten how many people before Batman gets to him? Evil Batman is a overused troupe and just kinda feels... not lazy. Cause there's totally effort put into this. But it's just.. sorta expected? Wish they'd left Batman along.

I was thinking the same, honestly. Hearing that stuff dropped into what seems to be a really serious take on the dark potential of these villains was just cringe, plain and simple.
12:14 -Landstrom is not a psychologist and has not worked at Arhkam. What he IS however, is a character commonly compared to Marvel's The Lizard. This is a triat he shares with Killer Croc and possibly why they decided to give him his role in the RPG. It could be an easter egg nod to fans.

While I admit that some of the visual editing is a bit goofy at time, I think they did a good job voice acting and building suspense. Especially with Man-Bat and Clayface.
Someone actually asked if the King in Yellow Riddler was communicating with might have been Paralax instead of Hastur. Which if so then that would be an interesting twist on things.

I love this analog horror and the other Batman one. I feel that this one is better in its creation, but I do admire what the other one is trying to do. The only problem I have with both of them is that you don’t need an evil Batman for a good Batman analog horror. This one was doing a great job with the earlier episodes. It felt like it could actually exist in the Batman mythos. But, just like the other Batman analog horror, Batman being evil isn’t necessary. You already have plenty of villains that could work great in an analog horror series. Making Batman a bad guy doesn’t really do much for the story when other people can already fill in that role. Maybe it’s because I’m a sucker for elseworlds like “Gotham by Gaslight”, and I like books like “Gotham 1919 - 1939”, but it’s been proven that you can tell a good horror themed Batman reimagining. The most recent example I can think of is “The Batman” (from I believe 2022, but the last few years have been a blur for me since 2020, so I really can’t remember). They made the Riddler a unibomber/Zodiac hybrid, and it feels like it can work in real life. I feel like that same style can be translated to a RUclips format (maybe not analog horror specifically. That format is starting to become over saturated already. But you could very well do a fake documentary set in the world of Batman and make it good. I still love analog horror, including both Batman analog horror series, but I would personally prefer a reimagining of pre-established story, rather than trying to make a new story using unoriginal ideas (not that the stories are unoriginal. They’re very interesting. But certain elements have already been done before, and in a better way.).
A minor nitpick I have with the Clayface video; While it has the same origin as Basil, the whole touch of death aspect is uniquely a Preston Payne thing. Nothing wrong with that, but most people only know Basil. The same Clayface, Preston is in Serious Earth.
Awesome video, but man they took everything they were setting up and massively fumbled it by just diving into straight up Lovecraft territory, not any DC character/entity as far as we can tell but the actual King in Yellow Hastur, and then just making Professor Pyg a FNAF parody

Arkham Asylum is one of the most fascinating horrific places to be in we found out records of the most terrible evil minded villains in history in this very dark prison we find out about those criminals but don't get the complete stories which interests me I enjoy exploring kbowing and finding out about every criminal locked up or free killing now Arkham Asylum has the kind of history which criminals have killed guards there and criminals did the same thing killing the guards it has me thinking of Butcher Bay that slam prison in space where prisoners get such painful treatment from guards . 👍👍

I was thinking the same, honestly. Hearing that stuff dropped into what seems to be a really serious take on the dark potential of these villains was just cringe, plain and simple.
It’s because around 2020 some people made FNAF analog horror series which introduced a lot of fans of the games into the genre.

12:14 -Landstrom is not a psychologist and has not worked at Arhkam. What he IS however, is a character commonly compared to Marvel's The Lizard. This is a triat he shares with Killer Croc and possibly why they decided to give him his role in the RPG. It could be an easter egg nod to fans.

Honestly, when I was younger and saw The Masque Of Red Death and heard of The King In Yellow i thought they were connected because i saw a plague in yellow robes
While I admit that some of the visual editing is a bit goofy at time, I think they did a good job voice acting and building suspense. Especially with Man-Bat and Clayface.
Rule one on traveling into other universes. Never enter gotham city.
Someone actually asked if the King in Yellow Riddler was communicating with might have been Paralax instead of Hastur. Which if so then that would be an interesting twist on things.

I love this analog horror and the other Batman one. I feel that this one is better in its creation, but I do admire what the other one is trying to do.
The only problem I have with both of them is that you don’t need an evil Batman for a good Batman analog horror. This one was doing a great job with the earlier episodes. It felt like it could actually exist in the Batman mythos.
But, just like the other Batman analog horror, Batman being evil isn’t necessary. You already have plenty of villains that could work great in an analog horror series. Making Batman a bad guy doesn’t really do much for the story when other people can already fill in that role.
Maybe it’s because I’m a sucker for elseworlds like “Gotham by Gaslight”, and I like books like “Gotham 1919 - 1939”, but it’s been proven that you can tell a good horror themed Batman reimagining.
The most recent example I can think of is “The Batman” (from I believe 2022, but the last few years have been a blur for me since 2020, so I really can’t remember). They made the Riddler a unibomber/Zodiac hybrid, and it feels like it can work in real life. I feel like that same style can be translated to a RUclips format (maybe not analog horror specifically. That format is starting to become over saturated already. But you could very well do a fake documentary set in the world of Batman and make it good.
I still love analog horror, including both Batman analog horror series, but I would personally prefer a reimagining of pre-established story, rather than trying to make a new story using unoriginal ideas (not that the stories are unoriginal. They’re very interesting. But certain elements have already been done before, and in a better way.).

A minor nitpick I have with the Clayface video; While it has the same origin as Basil, the whole touch of death aspect is uniquely a Preston Payne thing. Nothing wrong with that, but most people only know Basil. The same Clayface, Preston is in Serious Earth.

Awesome video, but man they took everything they were setting up and massively fumbled it by just diving into straight up Lovecraft territory, not any DC character/entity as far as we can tell but the actual King in Yellow Hastur, and then just making Professor Pyg a FNAF parody

Arkham Asylum is one of the most fascinating horrific places to be in we found out records of the most terrible evil minded villains in history in this very dark prison we find out about those criminals but don't get the complete stories which interests me I enjoy exploring kbowing and finding out about every criminal locked up or free killing now Arkham Asylum has the kind of history which criminals have killed guards there and criminals did the same thing killing the guards it has me thinking of Butcher Bay that slam prison in space where prisoners get such painful treatment from guards .
