I live in upstate n.y. we know how to drive in that shit lived in Alaska also was no big deal to drive in it up there either everybody ran studs on there vehicles only idiots that can't drive in it is the dumb fks with all wheel drive that think there vehicle sticks to the road like a magnet at any speed in adverse road conditions...😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
This is the Old Seward highway and main the roads get plowed first. Subdivisions in residential communities take time to plow. All doable with a 4 wheel drive vehicle and good winter tires a must. This video represents a typical day. I have lived in Anchorage for 50 years. Big storms close schools and are much more difficult to commute. Fortunately, the snow reflects light and helps with the dark winter days.
I wish that we could had so much snow here in Europe, but it has become a rare sight for a couple of years now. Last time it snowed like in this video was in 2010 when we had 40" of snow in a few hours. Could you please send us some of the snow you don't need over here please? :)
We live in Big Lake Alaska . We in another snow storm that is supposed to last another week and a half ! This one could be much worse! Stay warm my fellow Alaskan's !
To be honest there was more snow fall in the season of 2011/2012 then there has been this year. People are really blowing these snow events out of perportion. Yes it is quite a bit of snow but not as dramatic as people are saying. Sincerely, a local who plows snow for a living
What's funny is you won't see hardly anyone using tire chains except the UPS, FedEx and Postal Service. It's all about the right tires. I have been using Bridgestone Blizzaks for years, but only in the winter on my Escalade.
@@garyr4211 yep and just back from Finland . We had snow everyday and out driving everyday with no problems . The UK can't cope with anything now days .
This is just a normal snowfall here in northern michigan...are all the plow drivers off duty???? My best estimate is that there is 3 to maybe 5 inches of snow. What's all the excitement about?????
Oh it’s my dream place to live in Alaska…such a beautiful place I have good business money everything but as always smth needed it’s a Alaska…I just wanna have a family with open heart beautiful girl…who can merry and live in Alaska😊
Pretty much everyone up here knows how to get around in snow. And I don’t think I know a single family that doesn’t have a 4wd vehicle. Usually a truck but Subarus are very popular up here. Snowfall problems in Anchorage generally arise from our completely incompetent Mayor. Snow removal has been a total mess ever since he took office. Plus he probably needs the snow removal budget to defend the endless lawsuits he gets Anchorage messed up in. Like the newest one coming down the chute - the Mayor’s hand-picked IT Director and his former hand-picked Chief of Staff getting caught trying to falsify our elections. And our idiot Mayor “let” the IT Director resign instead of firing him and having both charged with crimes. The city is probably going to cough up millions when it’s all said and done.
Wow I never knew 18" was such a small amount of snow. Seems to me that that's not 18" of snow. Or you'd be dragging the bottom of your vehicle. Unless you have a jacked up 4 wheel drive.
@@samsonhendrixiii3933 I know how much snow 18" is.. I was just messin'. I live in NE Minnesota, so I know snow. I remember living there for 7 years, I miss the cold, I miss the wind, I miss the sound of the engine. You have given me a small piece of heaven back
I love winter and cold and I’m stuck in a tropical country. Imagine the pain I’m going through
From a Southerner’s perspective, it looks like if you built suburbia in Antarctica
Your so lucky, i love that weather. It brought memories. thanks for your awesome videos
Thanks for watching! We love the snow and do our best to not take it for granted.
A taco bell in Anchorage,I'm sold
Well look at that. People can actually drive in the snow. Lower 48, take note. No plows, no salt all over the place. It's a Christmas miracle!!
They really can’t tho daily you see people off the highway even when it isn’t snowing

Record snowfall huh we use to get this back in the 90s when I lived up there!
record snowfall since 95 lol
Yeah this checks out hahaha
And to think 2-3 inches will shut down any city in the lower 48. O'Malley, wow, you're way down there....
Oh I would love to be there right now and drive around and have fun…
Mee to

I live East of Palmer. This morning 12/12 I was pushing snow with my front bumper down the Glenn Highway with a lifted 4X4 pickup to get to work.
👍 I use to live in Palmer worked at Quality Moving and Storage!

We had 6 feet two weeks ago in New York
i bought new winter tires in 2013., i used it 3 times on snow, i dance around fire to get snow and drive WT
We just broke the all time coldest November on record here in N. Idaho. 6 degrees average below the 1919 record. Have had snow since November 7
Where are you from?
You just passed in front of my sister place, greetings from Los Ángeles
Didn't know there was a new Seward Highway. Drove to Seward a lot but can't remember the way anymore. I guess 45 years will do it.
Me in Fairbanks on the day of this video: ahahah suckas!!
Me now: ...wait 👀 😳 🥶 make it stawp
Had another two feet here just north of Wasilla from last night.

Very true! Hope you’re doing alright Austin!
I take it there's no bus system in Anchorage Alaska?
Sorry honest question here, is this really a record? I've only been to Anchorage once and it was in Aug.
Yes it is.

Absolutely. I have a set of Nokian Hakkapeliittas and scored some Blizzaks in the summer for a cheap price. Both have been excellent.
When cars are set up well and have the studded winter tyres on they cope well in this weather .
You must be from the UK.
@@garyr4211 yep and just back from Finland . We had snow everyday and out driving everyday with no problems . The UK can't cope with anything now days .
What kind of car and tires?
I’m not going to say the car yet as I might do a giveaway themed around guessing it. But the tires on this video are Nokian Hakkapeliitta 10’s
My boots are better than tires at This point…. My car is covered in snow as I high-step around it, making my way to the store. 😅
Should've gone to lucky wishbone for that quest for the chicken....it would be worth it
We’ll have to do the next video there
So were you driving in a rear 2 wheel drive, no!
It's crazy that you cant even see the lines on the road
I remember this crap. They didn't plow my road for like a week. People were in an uproar over this.
can u fry at home, risky journey
Good drivers. Here in Western WA people would spin out all over the place
Bella nevicata

Exactly 😅
This is during the snowfall. We got 18 inches and some places got 29 inches overnight.
I want to back to Alaska.
I lived in Louisville Kentucky back in 1996-7 and we had a 24 inch snow fall over night. So 18 inches is not that much especially in Alaska.
It is in one night. This show is insane.
Are you driving just to get a video?
Or am I videoing just to get a drive?
people who live in alaska love all this snow and cold--why?

You don't have to shovel rain
Better than rain...
guess what folks ..........we have to slow the spread of snow across america.
7:35 Awww, I wanted to place an order too.
need means to survive in harsh places like this
what a difference: everybody drives, nobody is stucked in 2 inches, no test of summer tires, how dare you
Seems to me he/she is driving way too fast for conditions.
He/She probably has studded winter tires so not a big deal.

It’s where fallen snow rest. My vehicle is below at least 12+ inches of snow, and the snow around the tires are at 15 to 20 inches. So…

А что такого? Это ерунда! Надо бы дороги почистить, а так нормально.
😂
OMG Global warming LOl
I would've assumed 18 inches is nothing up there. We just had 24 inches and that's not even close to a record. Good old 89402.
