This is the Old Seward highway and main the roads get plowed first. Subdivisions in residential communities take time to plow. All doable with a 4 wheel drive vehicle and good winter tires a must. This video represents a typical day. I have lived in Anchorage for 50 years. Big storms close schools and are much more difficult to commute. Fortunately, the snow reflects light and helps with the dark winter days.

Pretty much everyone up here knows how to get around in snow. And I don’t think I know a single family that doesn’t have a 4wd vehicle. Usually a truck but Subarus are very popular up here.
Snowfall problems in Anchorage generally arise from our completely incompetent Mayor. Snow removal has been a total mess ever since he took office. Plus he probably needs the snow removal budget to defend the endless lawsuits he gets Anchorage messed up in.
Like the newest one coming down the chute - the Mayor’s hand-picked IT Director and his former hand-picked Chief of Staff getting caught trying to falsify our elections. And our idiot Mayor “let” the IT Director resign instead of firing him and having both charged with crimes. The city is probably going to cough up millions when it’s all said and done.

I know how much snow 18" is.. I was just messin'.
I live in NE Minnesota, so I know snow. We have a snowstorm coming our way now that predicts 20+" in a day's time. + 40 mph winds.
It'll be 'holy crap nuts' of shoveling time soon. Lol.
So I'm prepared, but not prepared, but prepared.
To be stuck in my house with kids. Who love to fight.
      Wish me luck. Lol.
And I hope you have a wonderful and blessed day.
