First of all, I'm a 20 year, Disabled Veteran of the U.S. Navy, And I'm a huge fan of the Blue Angels, And have been since the pre-70s. I've seen them in person on several occasions.
Now I'm not trying to take anything away from "Fat Albert", Or her crew.
I fully understand that they are a very important component of the "Blue Angels" team.
And please believe me when I say this, I mean No Disrespect intended toward her, Or her crew.
They are top-tier military service personnel and they serve a great cause, They deserve all the respect befitting a proud military unit.
I have nothing but admiration for them and what they do.
But come on people, It's a C-130 cargo aircraft, Perhaps I'm a little jaded because of my military service, And being around military aircraft for much of my career, It doesn't impress me much anymore.
Other than the fact it is part of the Blue Angels support team, And that it's got a great paint job, There's not very much that's really all that spectacular about the plane itself.
Although I can understand why civilians feel the way they do about it.

They are the “legacy hornets”. Like first generation. Not super. Notice the small air intakes. The super have large square

The Legacy Hornet is a better airshow plane.

I've been shocked at how inconsistent the displays have been since moving to the Rhino. You'd think a newer platform would be more reliable but it seems it's more common now to have six (or less) jets take off and not all complete the show.
