I actually learned some new things from this. Great series. I really liked that they had very little about STD and JJ movies since they are not real Trek. I just muted it when Whoopi and Wil Wheaton talked. There were some mistakes also like why Denise Crosby got fired. It was because she posed in Playboy, not because of her differences with the show runners.
This is the third or fourth of relatively recent and very similar docs not unlike "The Captains" from 2011. They're mostly the same in that you get a lot of inside scoop but it comes at the price of seeing behind the curtain in Oz. And when or WHEN did we all get so old??? 😂
For those of you wanting more information: - This documentary is broken up into 1-hour episodes. - It can be found (at least) on the Amazon Prime streaming service and on DVD with a companion book.
This series has been great and well worth watching. Lots of stuff that I’ve never heard before in other Trek documentaries. I especially liked the episodes about the animated series & movies.
Will there be a season 2 ?. It ended with Enterprise but there is still the Kelvin movies and Discovery and Picard and the animated shows : Lower Decks and Prodigy to cover
That's funny, given that folks like y'all were saying decades ago with VOY and ENT that Trek was dead, and now suddenly those shows count in your 50 years and the new ones are the "dead", some of y'all need to perhaps learn what the definition of "dead" actually is, a show that's successfully running 4 new series isn't dead.
@@CaptainPikeachu Star Trek definitely died with Enterprise, that was a fair statement. At the very least the period where the franchise was at the height of its creativity, respectability, and intellectual discourse (the 90s era) died as the 2000s approached.

I love this series but this trailer absolutely sucks and had I watched the trailer first, I probably wouldn't have watched the show. I'm in the process of recommending this to several friends and I was going to send them the trailer but I guess I'm just going to not send them the trailer. 😂
You've got to appreciate that they’ve made something that’s deserving of the name “Star Trek” because it doesn’t feature any of trash made in the last 10 years. Its actually quite refreshing.
@@TIG5574Well then when they reach 2009 we'll know thats when to stop watching. I certainly have no interest in them talking about the vandalization of a beloved franchise.

We just rented this from our local library and have enjoyed learning all the 'behind the scenes adventures' that we never knew!
Thank you for creating this series. I've loved almost everything about Star Trek.
Put Shatner and Takei in a room with a camera and lock the door, there's one hour in the can...

Any word on whether it's being broadcast by a UK network?

Cannae wait!
Looking looking where is this mythical centre seat series?
Where can one watch this? Why not mention where and when it will be available, you know so people can watch it.
Beautiful intention. But...
Oh my god! Time is merciless!
Mr Data still kicks of Terminator's ass. ;)
Will there be a season 2 ?. It ended with Enterprise but there is still the Kelvin movies and Discovery and Picard and the animated shows : Lower Decks and Prodigy to cover
But who would watch that lol
When will this ever be available worldwide? I can't watch it anywhere. 😢
it's on prime for free
No Shatner?
No Shatner but Will Wheaton. I'll pass (can't stand Wheaton for some odd reason).
No William Shatner...? Can't be...!!! That's like Bacon and Eggs with no Bacon....!!! Can't have Star Trek and no Cap't Kirk...
Bacon, or ham?
Geez if this is all interviews with whining and complaining I’ll pass.
50 years of Star Trek, it's been very much *dead* for the last 5. ⚡

"55 years of Star Trek" doesn't amount a bunch of actors whining about their job. That's not what Star Trek is about, no thanks think I'll pass

This documentary show is about real people explaining the hard work of making a TV franchise. It seems to be something you take for granted.

Um, everything will be covered. It said the last 55 YEARS, which according to my math would also have to include the last 10 years as well.
