I know - this one hardly feels like a cruise at all. It's more like one big adventure and the only way you can see that part of the world is by ship anyway! So there were lots of people on it that had never cruised before! We'll get you on a ship yet Oliver!
Mine was a family sailing and the demographic was much younger than normal, but this is fine for fitter oldies. There are different hikes available in each stop and you can choose the one which suits your level. They give good descriptions of each one to help you make up your mind. There's always a gentle one available. But there were definitely plenty of over 70s who were sailing with us and enjoying it....
I was there for 14 nightsdays. 3 nights Santiago; 1 night pre-cruise in Punta Arenas; 4 nights on the cruise; 1 night in Buenos Aires; 4 nights in Pucon (that's Chile's Lake District and I will be posting videos of that in the coming weeks - I've just posted one of a thermal springs heated by a volcano) and 1 last night in Santiago before getting my plane back home. Hope that helps. But if I hadn't been constrained by time (I took my kids with and school holidays at Xmas are short) I'd have preferred to go slower and take 3 weeks. I'd have liked more time in Buenos Aires, more time to visit Valparaiso (outside Santiago) and more time in Pucon to relax a bit more in some sunshine by a mountain lake...and there's loads more of Chile I'm still keen to see, but that will have to wait!
0:201:44 In the background Ainsworth Bay and Marinelli Glacier (Chile); 3:34 'Pía' Glacier (Chile); 4:00 Glacier and snowdrift 'Romanche' (Chile); 4:14 Cape Horn Archipelago (Chile); 5:13 General view Wulaia Bay (Chile) I am Chilean and it seems disrespectful to me and my country that you allude to "Argentina" in the description considering that all the landscapes and sites that appear in your video are from Chile; even his tour ship Venturis Australis has a Chilean port city "Punta Arenas" marked. Lastly, Argentina doesn't even have these coastal seascapes. I presume her bad faith and I cordially summon her to amend that mistake.
Andy, my reference to Argentina is that the cruise ENDS in Argentina - it started in Chile in Punta Arenas as you said and finished in Argentina in Ushuaia. These were the facts
Hey Jo !!!! Another great vid!!! Looks like so much fun!!!
