Jurassic World Evolution 2: Species Predictions Series - Madagascar and India

  • Despite its great abundance of unique and interesting prehistoric creatures, Madagascar sadly has little to no representation in Jurassic World Evolution 2, so some extra added variety is SORELY needed right now. From tiny, plant-eating crocs to big, dinosaur-eating frogs to dino-birds, there’s a lot of fascinating creatures that would be quite welcome on the roster. Likewise, India has absolutely no presence on the roster whatsoever, which is a shame with so many notable dinosaurs found there too. Today, we’ll see if we can rectify that as we return to our tour of the Mesozoic Earth’s countries and see what creatures from Madagascar and India could still join the Evolution 2 roster.

    2. Masiakasaurus *(7 / 10)*
    3. Isisaurus *(6 / 10)*
    4. Simosuchus *(6 / 10)*
    5. Titanosaurus *(6 / 10)*
    6. Barapasaurus *(6 / 10)*
    7. Beelzebufo *(5 / 10)*
    8. Rahonavis *(5 / 10)*
    9. Rapetosaurus *(4 / 10)*
    10. Indosuchus *(4 / 10)*
    11. Indosaurus *(3 / 10)*
    12. Bruhathkayosaurus *(2 / 10)*
    13. Kotasaurus *(2 / 10)*
    14. Daholokely *(2 / 10)*
The video for France, Austria and Romania does again have a much smaller list of species, though with me trying to balance out making channel content and working on building a CV to find a true job, I’m not quite sure how production’s gonna go right now. Maybe it’ll go as smoothly as butter or maybe it’ll get problematic, I dunno. We’ll just have to wait and see. Oh, and I also think I’ll *_FINALLY_* be making a Cenozoic episode after that one, so fingers crossed it all goes well! 🤞😁

Great video as usual mate, Rajasaurus, Masiakasaurus, Isisaurus and Simosuchus are also my top species picks for getting into the Evolution 2, as always looking forward to your next video on France, Austria and Romania, but until then, take care my friend.

The frog deserves the world, i’ll remove the velociraptors from the game just to get it.

    Roster criticism:
    - Due to Majungasaurus' elongated legs, Rajasaurus has literally nothing unique to add to the game, unless they gave it the short legs instead. Easy model, probably a bad pick.
    - Masiakasaurus is a pretty neat new small Theropod. A mod for it has been one of the first to be made for this game, and I hope Frontier would match it in terms of design quality.
    - Isisaurus is a great and unique pick. The thick neck would make it stand out among other Sauropods, especially if they exagerate it.
    - Simosuchus is a lovely little bugger but I feel like they might avoid it just because people at large seem salty over too many small herbivores.
    - Titanosaurus is only known from teeth, but they could use that to make it a spec evo amalgam of all the Titanosaur traits they could wish for.
    - Rahonavis ain't bad, but even without Micro and Arche, Anchiornis unique pattern squarely overshadows it. Maybe if they want coloration freedom, though.
    - Daholokely, yeah, no shot. If they wanted a small Abelisaur chances are they'd go with Rugops, since that's easy to say and I believe mentioned as an Indom gene donator by some sources.
    - Beelzebufo I'm not sure about, they don't really have the ability to do convincing semiaquatics, but it might be small enough to be an exception? RN I feel like they'd lack the guts to do it, though. Would be pretty funky if they did it, even if I'm not sure I'd consider it a breakthrough species wise, so to speak.
    - Rapetosaurus is overshadowed, and honestly for good reason. It's just a pretty generic Titanosaur, the only claim to clout it has is sharing Majungasauruses zip code.
    - Indosaurus is a pretty generic Abelisaur, would be funny for people mistaking it as a third member of the Indominus/Indoraptor duo.
    - Indosuchus is basically as above, only now people might assume it to be a crocodile, making it slightly funnier.
    - Barapasaurus is a basal Sauropod, and they really should have one of those. Feel like Shunosaurus and Cetiosaurus would be more likely to take that slot, though.
    - Kotasaurus is basically the same as above, only slightly easier to spell in exchange for being slightly more obscure.
    - Bruhathkayosaurus, yeah... Wasn't this the one that might be a tree now? The name is really hard to spell, so I doubt it would win out over Argentinosaurus or Patagotitan, assuming they're not just happy with Alamosaurus and Dreadnoughtus as is.
    Roundup:
Simo, Beelze, Masiaka, Isi: Great picks.
Barapa, Kota, Titano, Rahon, Daho: Good if they put work into them, likely overshadowed by relatives
Bruh, Indo, Indo, Raja: Could be made to work with a lot of effort and strange design choices, probably so thoroughly overshadowed by relatives already ingame that I doubt they have a shot at all
    Further notes:
    - Madagascar is the site of some of the larger Mesozoic mammals. They could potentially earn a spot of their own?
    - India really deserves some, any, rep. It is a pretty big country now, and was massively important during the Cretaceous. A volcanic skin having Abelisaur would justify even those I put into my lowest tier. Pretty sure we don't have a single Indian species in the game right now, however.
    - They should make an Indian DLC featuring Indosaurus (this one gets the volcano skin), Indosuchus (this one has croc osteoderms), Indohyus and Indosinosuchus (not from India but hey, lagoon species). They release it on April first unannounced and Indohyus remains the only mammal to ever be added to the game.

Fun fact: india and Madagaskar were once connected before continental drift, that could explain simuliar at their fauna

I feel like Prehistoric Planet Season 2 really did many of these species a favour when it comes to popularity amongst the dinosaur community.

I bet you anything that show’s the sole reason Barbaridactylus got in the Late Cretaceous Pack. And yeah, it probably helped Deinocheirus get in too, but given its popularity, that dinosaur was probably always in consideration anyway.

@@awesomeproductions7755I agree on both counts, especially for the Barbaridactylus, though for the record, I don’t blame Frontier for wanting to cash in on the popularity of certain prehistoric species that have been so recently featured in media or even old media, I’m always happy to see Walking With Dinosaurs species getting added into the game like Utahraptor, it’s why I think so many people were so surprised that we didn’t get a Megalodon in the Prehistoric Marine Species Pack after it came out so close to the release for the Meg 2: The Trench.
