- We sailed on Marella Voyager for 7 nights on the Mediterranean Medley cruise and we visited ports in Italy, France and Spain. We were fortunate to be invited to dine in the Silver Fork on Marella Voyager. This is a premium speciality dining venue available exclusively on Marella Voyager. There are two menus to choose from and we opted for the Taster Menu and were surprised by the unique and innovative courses that were on offer. Even though we were invited to dine in the Silver Fork are thoughts and opinions are our own!

Marella Voyager is a cruise ship operated by Marella Cruises, a UK-based cruise line. Originally built in 1997 and previously sailing under different names and owners, it was refurbished and renamed Marella Voyager in 2023. The ship offers a variety of amenities including multiple dining options, bars, entertainment venues, a spa, fitness centre and various recreational facilities. It is designed to provide a comfortable and enjoyable cruising experience, with itineraries that explore various destinations around the world. We are Tom and Dom and we experienced our first cruise on the MSC Virtuosa during her UK staycation cruises in 2021. We are relatively new to cruising, however we can now say we are officially hooked.
Our mission is provide a fair and balanced review of our travels. We look at the types of food that is available onboard, from main dining rooms, room service, buffets and pool side snacks. We include menus for each of cruises so that we can share the selection of drinks and meals that are available. Entertainment onboard a cruise ship is important to us and we enjoy theatre production shows, live music, quizzes and game shows. We love to explore different ports and destinations and enjoy sharing tips and tricks so that you can make the most of each port. We often explore ports independently but also book excursions that are interesting to us.

Thank you for providing an introduction to the Silver Fork. Maybe I am showing my age, but this is what I expect when one is paying for premium fine dining. Everything from the table presentation, cutlery, and courses make the moment special. From my experience, it is very difficult to do Beef Wellington for massive groups. Maybe the key to getting this level of service is to have a dedicated smaller staff team attending to your dining.experience (but it usually costs $$$). It appears your experience was top-drawer.
Several years ago, we invited a couple to the Four Season restaurant for dinner and the per seat costs was approximately $200. Although expensive (IMO) you were paying for the dedicated staff and attention to detail. When cruising, specialty dining feels like a steal compared to on-land prices.
Thank you once again for taking the time to watch. It certainly was a special experience although you are right that all specialty dining should have a sense of occasion.
We don’t often eat out on land for the very reason you describe. It’s far better value on a ship
